ASTRO-F is the first Japanese dedicated infrared astronomical satellite which will be launched in 2005FY and is now in the final stage of the development. ASTRO-F is a 70 cm aperture cryogenically cooled telescope and designed for the infrared survey with much higher sensitivity and angular resolution than IRAS. We present the current status of the mission, focal plane instruments, and the observation plan now being discussed.

SPICA (Space Infrared Telescope for Cosmology and Astrophysics) is an infrared astronomical satellite with a 3.5 m cooled telescope which is very powerful in mid- and far- infrared observations and makes complementary role to JWST and Herschel. SPICA will be launched at ambient temperature without any cryogen into the Sun-Earth L2 orbit and cooled down in space to 4.5 K with use of efficient radiative cooling and mechanical coolers. The present status of SPICA and the developments of the satellite system are reported.

We report a quantum wavepacket study on the characteristic bimodal translational energy distribution of photostimulated desorbed Xe from an oxidized silicon (001) surface observed by Watanabe and Matsumoto, Faraday Discuss. 117 (2000) 203. We have simulated the theoretical translational energy distributions based on wavepacket calculations with a sudden transition and averaging model to reproduce the experiment. We discuss the desorption mechanism and suggest a very strong position dependence of the deexcitation processes for Xe/oxidized Si(001).

A system to measure 3-dimensional coordinates of large structures is presented in this paper. In order to enable accurate measurements calibration of the measuring system is important. Feature of our system are that by introducting one simplified calibration procedures setting of the measuring system is simplified and also that tracking performance is increased. An experimental result reveals the applicability of our systems.

제주도산 사미류의 분류학적 연구를 하기 위하여 1965년 7월부터 1987년 7월까지 제주도의 6개 지역(제주도, 비양도, 서귀포, 신천, 역산포, 우도)에서 채집하여 보관중이던 표본을 동정·분류하였다. 그 결과 2 복 9과 19종의 사미류가 제두도에 분포하고 있는 것으로 밝혀졌고, 이들중 Gorgonocephalus dolichodactylus Dderlein , 1911, Astrocladus ludwigi9Dderlein, 1896) , Astroboa arctos Matsumoto, 1915 al camphipholis pugetana Lyman , 1861 4 종은 한국미기록종이다.

This paper gives some sufficient conditions for a given polyhedral set which is represented as a set of linear inequalities to be positive D-invariant for uncertain linear discrete-time systems in the case such that the systems matrices depend linearly on uncertain parameters whose ranges are given intervals. Further, the results will be applied to uncertain linear continuous systems in the sense of the above by using Euler approximation.

This paper proposes design of new linear bipolar OTAs composed of an hyperbolic function circuit and a triple-tail cell. Two types of the OTAs are presented; one employs a hyperbolic sine circuit and the other contains a hyperbolic cosine circuit. The linear input voltage ranges of the proposed OTAs are wider than that of the conventional triple-tail cell, though the power dissipation is smaller. The results of SPICE simulation show that satisfactory characteristics are obtained.
