Many researcher's efforts have made a significant advancement of space frame structure with various portion, and it becomes the most outsanding one of space structures. However, with the characteristics of thin and long term of spacing, the unstable behavior of space structure is shown by initial imperfection, erection procedure or joint, especially space frame structure represents more. This kind of unstable problem could not be set up clearly and there is a huge difference between theory and experiment. Moreover, the discrete structure such as space frame has more complex solution, this it is not easy to derive the formulation of design about space structure. In this space frame structure, the character of rise-span ratio or load mode is represented by the instability of space frame structure with initial imperfection, and snap-through or bifurcation might be the main phenomenon. Therefore, in this study, space frame structure which has a lot of aesthetic effect and profitable for large space covering single layer is dealt. And because that the unstable behavior due to variation of inner force resistance in the elastic range is very important collapse mechanism, I would like to investigate unstable character as a nonlinear behavior with a geometric nonlinear. In order to study the instability. I derive tangent stiffness matrix using finite element method and with displacement incremental method perform nonlinear analysis of unit space structure, star dome and 3-ring star dome considering rise-span
Parallel imaging technique can provide several advantages for a multitude of MRI applications. Especially, in SENSE technique, sensitivity maps were always required in order to determine the reconstruction matrix, therefore, a number of difference approaches using sensitivity information from coils have been demonstrated to improve of image quality. Moreover, many filtering methods were proposed such as adaptive matched filter and nonlinear diffusion technique to optimize the suppression of background noise and to improve of image quality. In this study, we performed SENSE reconstruction using computer simulations to confirm the most suitable method for the feasibility of filtering effect and according to changing order of polynomial fit that were applied on variation of spatial resolution of sensitivity map. The image was obtained at 0.32T(Magfinder II, Genpia, Korea) MRI system using spin-echo pulse sequence(TR/TE = 500/20 ms, FOV = 300 mm, matrix =
In this study nonlinear dynamic behaviors of towed tow-tension cables are numerically analysed. In the case of a taut cable analysis, a bending stiffness term is usually neglected due to its minor effect but it plays an important role in a low-tension cable analysis. A low-tension cable may experience large displacements due to relatively small restoring forces and thus the effects of fluid and geometric non-linearities become predominant. The bending stiffness and non-linearity effects are considered in this work. In order to obtain dynamic behaviors of a towed low-tension cable, three-dimensional nonlinear dynamic equation is described and discretized by employing a finite difference method. An implicit method and Newton-Raphson iteration are adopted for the time integration and nonlinear solutions. For the calculation of huge size of matrices. block tri-diagonal matrix method is applied, which is much faster than the well-known Gauss-Jordan method in two point boundary value problems. Some case studies are carried out and the results of numerical simulations are compared with those of a in-house program of WHOI Cable with good agreements.
Many hydropower stations in southwest China are located in regions of brittle rock mass with high geo-stresses. Under these conditions deep fractured zones often occur in the sidewalls of the underground caverns of a power station. The theory and methods of fracture and damage mechanics are therefore adopted to study the phenomena. First a flexibility matrix is developed to describe initial geometric imperfections of a jointed rock mass. This model takes into account the area and orientation of the fractured surfaces of multiple joint sets, as well as spacing and density of joints. Using the assumption of the equivalent strain principle, a damage constitutive model is established based on the brittle fracture criterion. In addition the theory of fracture mechanics is applied to analyze the occurrence of secondary cracks during a cavern excavation. The failure criterion, for rock bridge coalescence and the damage evolution equation, has been derived and a new sub-program integrated into the FLAC-3D software. The model has then been applied to the stability analysis of an underground cavern group of a hydropower station in Sichuan province, China. The results of this method are compared with those obtained by using a conventional elasto-plastic model and splitting depth calculated by the splitting failure criterion proposed in a previous study. The results are also compared with the depth of the relaxation and fracture zone in the surrounding rock measured by field monitoring. The distribution of the splitting zone obtained both by the proposed model and by the field monitoring measurements are consistent to the validity of the theory developed herein.
This paper proposes a calibration method from two images. Camera calibration is necessarily required to obtain 3D Information from 2D images. Previous works to accomplish the camera calibration needed the calibration object or required more than three images to calculate the Kruppa equation, however, we use the geometric constraints of parallelism and orthogonality can be easily presented in man-made scenes. The task of it is to obtain intrinsic and extrinsic camera parameters. The intrinsic parameters are evaluated from vanishing points and then the extrinsic parameters which are consisted of rotation matrix and translation vector of the camera are estimated from corresponding points of two views. From the calibrated parameters, we can recover the projection matrices for each view point. These projection matrices are used to recover 3D information of the scene and can be used to visualize new viewpoints.
The present paper briefly describes the space frame element and the fundamental strategies in computational elastic bifurcation theory of geometrically nonlinear, single load parameter conservative elastic spatial structures. A method for large deformation(rotation) analysis of space frame is based on an eulerian formulation, which takes into consideration the effects of large joint translations and rotations with finite deformation(rotation). The local member force-deformation relationships are based on the beam-column approach, and the change in member chord lengths caused by axial strain and flexural bowing are taken into account. and the derived geometric stiffness matrix is unsymmetric because of the fact that finite rotations are not commutative under addition. To detect the singular point such as bifurcation point, an iterative pin-pointing algorithm is proposed. And the path switching mode for bifurcation path is based on the non-negative eigen-value and it's corresponding eigen-vector. Some numerical examples for bifurcation analysis are carried out for a plane frame, plane circular arch and space dome structures are described.
Precision positioning is necessary for various use of high-resolution UAV images. Basically, GCP is used for this purpose, but in case of emergency situations or difficulty in selecting GCPs, the data shall be obtained without GCPs. This study proposed a method of improving positional accuracy for x, y coordinate of UAV based 3 dimensional point cloud data generated without GCPs. Road vector file by the public data (Open Data Portal) was used as reference data for improving location accuracy. The geometric correction of the 2 dimensional ortho-mosaic image was first performed and the transform matrix produced in this process was adopted to apply to the 3 dimensional point cloud data. The straight distance difference of 34.54 m before the correction was reduced to 1.21 m after the correction. By confirming that it is possible to improve the location accuracy of UAV images acquired without GCPs, it is expected to expand the scope of use of 3 dimensional spatial objects generated from point cloud by enabling connection and compatibility with other spatial information data.
When voice is transmitted through packet switching network, there needs a overload control, that is, a control for the congestion which lasts short periods and occurrs in local extents. In this thesis, we analyzed the performance of the statistical packet voice multiplexer using the overload control strategy by bit dropping. We assume that the voice is coded accordng to (4,2) embedded ADPCM and that the voice packet is generated and transmitted according to the procedures in the CCITT recomendation G. 764. For the performance analysis, we must model the superposed packet arrival process to the multiplexer as exactly as possible. It is well known that interarrival times of the packets are highly correlated and for this reason MMPP is more suited for the modelling in the viewpoint of accuracy. Hence the packet arrival process in modeled as MMPP and the matrix geometric method is used for the performance analysis. Performance analysis is similar to the MMPP IG II queueing system. But the overload control makes the service time distribution G dependent on system status or queue length in the multiplexer. Through the performance analysis we derived the probability generating function for the queue length and using this we derived the mean and standard deviation of the queue length and waiting time. The numerical results are verified through the simulation and the results show that the values embedded in the departure times and that in the arbitrary times are almost the same. Results also show bit dropping reduces the mean and the variation of the queue length and those of the waiting time.
The wall shear stress in the vicinity of end-to end anastomoses under steady flow conditions was measured using a flush-mounted hot-film anemometer(FMHFA) probe. The experimental measurements were in good agreement with numerical results except in flow with low Reynolds numbers. The wall shear stress increased proximal to the anastomosis in flow from the Penrose tubing (simulating an artery) to the PTFE: graft. In flow from the PTFE graft to the Penrose tubing, low wall shear stress was observed distal to the anastomosis. Abnormal distributions of wall shear stress in the vicinity of the anastomosis, resulting from the compliance mismatch between the graft and the host artery, might be an important factor of ANFH formation and the graft failure. The present study suggests a correlation between regions of the low wall shear stress and the development of anastomotic neointimal fibrous hyperplasia(ANPH) in end-to-end anastomoses. 30523 T00401030523 ^x Air pressure decay(APD) rate and ultrafiltration rate(UFR) tests were performed on new and saline rinsed dialyzers as well as those roused in patients several times. C-DAK 4000 (Cordis Dow) and CF IS-11 (Baxter Travenol) reused dialyzers obtained from the dialysis clinic were used in the present study. The new dialyzers exhibited a relatively flat APD, whereas saline rinsed and reused dialyzers showed considerable amount of decay. C-DAH dialyzers had a larger APD(11.70
