AN APPLICATION OF TILINGS IN THE HYPERBOLIC PLANE

  • We will construct several types of semi-regular tilings of a hyperbolic unit disk model by defining geometric features of the definition of distance in a hyperbolic plane, area of triangle, and isometry of inversions. We researched the method of regular tilings and semi-regular tilings of hyperbolic unit disk model and wrote an semi-regular tiling construction algorithm using Cabri2 program and Cinderella program. Lastly, We want to make a product related to traditional heritage cultural patterns using Photoshop, so we'll model the advertising photos of cites; Seoul, Gwangju.

  • The method of generalized estimating equations (GEEs) provides consistent esti- mates of the regression parameters in a marginal regression model for longitudinal data, even when the working correlation model is misspecified (Liang and Zeger, 1986). In this paper we compare the estimators of parameters in GEE approach. We consider two aspects: coverage probabilites and efficiency. We adopted to ordinal responses th results derived from binary outcomes.

  • A Bayes estimator of the survival distribution function due to Susarla and Van Ryzin(1976) is used to estimate the mth moment of a survival time on the basis of censored observations in a random censorship model. Asymptotic normality of the estimator is proved using the functional version of the delta method.

  • In this paper, the fuzzy ISODATA algorithm is applied to forecasting liquefaction of sand in the antiseismic structures. According to the data of the earthquake taken place in Tang Shan in 1976, we construct a model of mathematics, on which we forecast 32 samples in the earthquake of Tang Shan. The correct rate of forecast is 90.7 %.

  • This study shows that image deblurring problems can be transformed into the multi-parameter Tikhonov type with multiple right hand sides. Also, this paper proposes the extension of the global generalized cross validation to obtain an appropriate choice of the regularization parameters for this problem. The experimental results of using the preconditioned Gl-CGLS algorithm were analyzed.

  • We present construction methods for free self-orthogonal (self-dual or Type II) codes over ℤ4[v]/〈v2 + 2v〉 which is one of the finite commutative local non-chain Frobenius rings of order 16. By considering their Gray images on ℤ4, we give a construct method for a code over ℤ4. We have some new and optimal codes over ℤ4 with respect to the minimum Lee weight or minimum Euclidean weight.

  • Blow-up phenomena for a nonlocal reaction-diffusion system with time-dependent coefficients are investigated under null Dirichlet boundary conditions. Using Kaplan's method with the comparison principle, we establish new blow-up criteria and obtain the upper bounds for the blow-up time of the solution under suitable measure sense in the whole-dimensional space.

  • The problems of optimization addressed in the high school curriculum are usually posed in real-life contexts. However, because of the instructional purposes, problems are artificially constructed to suit computation, rather than to reflect real-life problems. Those problems have thus limited use for teaching 'practicalities', which is one of the goals of mathematics education. This study, by utilizing 'GeoGebra', suggests the optimization problem solving related to the quadratic curve, using the contour-line method which contemplates the quadratic curve changes successively. By considering more realistic situations to supplement the limit which deals only with numerical and algebraic approach, this attempt will help students to be aware of the usefulness of mathematics, and to develop interests in mathematics, as well as foster students' integrated thinking abilities across units. And this allows students to experience a variety of math.

분석법을 중심으로 한 기하 증명 지도에 대한 연구 (Teaching Geometry Proof with focus on the Analysis)

  • 분석법은 증명 방법을 찾을 수 있는 좋은 방법의 하나로 제안되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 4명의 중학교 1학년 학생들을 대상으로 실제로 분석법을 중심으로 증명을 지도하기 위한 교수 실험을 실시하여, 분석법을 활용하여 증명 방법을 찾고 그것을 증명으로 표현하는 과정에서의 어려움을 살펴보았다. 본 연구 결과, 4명의 학생들은 교수 실험을 통해 분석법을 의미 있게 이해하고 분석법을 활용하여 증명 방법을 찾는 데에 대부분 성공하였다. 한편, 분석법을 중심으로 한 증명 학습에서 학생들이 겪는 어려움은 삼각형의 합동조건의 올바른 탐색, 증명 문제에 제시된 그림의 재해석, 증명 방법의 기호적 표현 등으로 나타났다.
