  • The localization of cellulase were investigated in the capitate glandular trichomes of Pelargonium ${\times}$ fragransby a transmission electron microscopy. The secretory cells of capitate trichomes involved in biosynthesis and its secretion. Secretory material is transported to the space between the plasma membrane and cell wall, and subsequently accumulated in the secretory cavity. The splitting of secretory cell wall during the formation of secretory cavity is suggested that wall-forming enzymes, such as cellulase, may contribute to the wall separation process. Cellulase reaction product was localized in the secretory cell, the secretory cavity and in the subcuticular wall of glandular trichomes. Reaction products were present over fibrillar matrix in the secretory cavity associated with both the inner wall and the subcuticular wall.

  • The removal of trace chlorinated and aromatic hydrocarbons from water by a pervaporation technique has been carried out through poly (dimethylsiloxane) membrane which had been fabricated by the addition crosslinking reaction. This study dealt with the swelling and permeation behaviors of the PDMS membranes with dichloroethane trichloroethane and toluene aqueous solutions. The swelling ratio in the toluene aqueous solution was much higher than those in the chloroethane solutions at all of the operating temperatures and concentrations. The solubility parameter theory was introduced to interpret the affinity between permeates and a membrane material and in all cases this approach seemed to be proper. It was suggested that the existence of water clusters in the membrane due to the hydrophobic characteristics of the membrane made the size of the permeating water larger resulting in suppressing water permeation and increasing enrichment of the organic components. The permeation behaviors at different membrane thicknesses were indirectly interpreted in terms of the effect of concentration polarization.

  • High-Belite cement had a better slump flow characteristics than type I cement and slag cement, and its varation of slump flow with time was also excellent. As the amount binder added was increased, the strength increased while material separation decreased. This phenomena was obvious when the amount of cement was abobe 500kg/$\textrm{m}^3$ . When the amount of cement and S/a were 516kg/$\textrm{m}^3$ and 52% respectively, the application strength of 600kg/$\textrm{m}^3$ was satisfied. Since, however, the aggreate size of 25mm was somewhat unsatisfactory, the characteristics of high performance concrete could be obtained by the addition of the viscosity-enhancing agent.

  • The repair and reinforcement materials of the concrete structure in underwater is use to epoxy mortar for underwater-harding. Because it ensures the separation of material and a fluidity in construction, it is important to epoxy mortar This study dealt with the influence of the using of rapidly-chilled steel slag on flow, nozzle passing time, viscosity, and strength of mortar by experimental design. As results of study, this paper proved that the more the using rate of rapidly chilled steel slag increased, the more this affected the enhancement of flow, the decrease of O-lot, and the development of compressive strength, flexural strength. Also, considering the fluidity, nozzle passing time and strength of mortar, it is desirable to use RCSS300 of rapidly chilled slag.

  • Concrete with high thixotropy has a lower plastic viscosity when pour in, thus demonstrating fluidity, and After poured, the viscosity can be restored again to ensure stable progress without additional liquidity and material separation. Therefore, in this study, a basic study of thixotropy of concrete was proceeded through cross-linked bond of PVA and Borax. Therefore, it is judgment that the higher the concentration of boron solutions, the higher the strength of the interconnections between PVA and boron.

  • A simple plane-strain solution is derived in this paper for the functionally graded multilayered isotropic elastic cylinder under static deformation. The solution is obtained using method of separation of variables and is expressed in terms of the summation of the Fourier series in the circumferential direction. While the solution for order n = 0 corresponds to the axisymmetric deformation, that for n = 2 includes the special deformation frequently utilized in the upper and lower bounds analysis. Numerical results for a three-phase cylinder with a middle functionally graded layer are presented for both axisymmetric (n = 0) and general (n = 2) deformations, under either the traction or displacement boundary conditions on the surface of the layered cylinder. The solution to the general deformation case (n = 2) is further utilized for the first time to find the upper and lower bounds of the effective shear modulus of the layered cylinder with a functionally graded middle layer. These results could be useful in the future study of cylindrical composites where FGMs and/or multilayers are involved.

  • The paper is devoted to present the Continuum Strong Discontinuity Approach (CSDA) and to examine its capabilities for modeling cracking of concrete. After introducing the main ingredients of the CSDA, an isotropic continuum damage model, which distinguishes tension and compression states, is used to implicitly induce a projected traction separation-law that rules the cracking phenomena. Criteria for onset and propagation of material failure and specific finite elements with embedded discontinuities are also briefly sketched. Finally, some representative numerical simulations of cracking, in plain and reinforced concrete specimens, using the CSDA are presented.

  • This paper presents a numerical investigation of the mechanical behaviour of extended end - plate steel connections including comparison with full size experiments. Contact and friction laws have been taken into account with nonlinear, three dimensional finite element analysis. Material and geometric nonlinearities have been implemented to the model, as well. Results are then compared with experimental tests conducted at the Jordan University of Science and Technology. According to the most significant observation of the analysis, a separation of the column flange from the extended end - plate occurs. Other important structural parameters of the connection, like the impact of some column stiffeners on the overall response, local buckling of the column and friction of the beam to column interface, have been examined as well.

  • Recently, as structures become bigger and higher, it is needed that high strength, high flow and high durability concrete. Demanding of High performance concrete that equality is maintained without material separation while flow, strength is increased by using low W/C rate and admixture, carbonation does not occur because of dense filling and has high durability is increasing rapidly. Because this high performance concrete is superior to general concrete in workability and durability, it is widely used in many construction and engineering works fields. However, it is reported that when it was exposed in fire, violent explosive spalling would be happened. Therefore, the purpose of this study evaluates explosive spalling properties of fire damaged high performance concrete according to the heating time.

  • The UV curing industry is one of the most wide application fields in the coating and printing inks industry. Applications extend to general coating for paper, board, wood tapes, compact discs and holograms, ink, photoresists for imaging processes and adhesives for welding and sealing in circuit boards. The UV-curing resins have advantages of quick set, space saving, clean environment and efficient use of energy. The purpose of this study has been to control of morphology structures consist of UV-curing resins and alkyd resins. Therefore, we are investigated with regard to rheology properties on the exposure to UV-curing, structures and mechanical properties for curing films.
