전산화단층영상검사에서 단일에너지와 이중에너지를 이용한 뼈 부피측정의 비교 (Comparison of Bone Volume Measurements Using Conventional Single and Dual Energy Computed Tomography)

  • 이중에너지 전산화단층촬영으로 뼈를 검사하여 다양한 keV와 조영제 물질 억제(material suppression iodine; MSI), 물질구분(material decomposition; MD)기법을 적용하였을 때, 단일에너지 전산화단층촬영과 비교 평가함으로써 칼슘 부피의 변화를 파악하고자 하였다. 인체유사 팬톰을 이용하여 단일에너지 전산화단층촬영의 영상을 기준으로 이중에너지 전산화단층촬영의 각각 70 keV, 100 keV, 140 keV 및 70 keV-MSI와 MD 칼슘강조-물제거(material calcium weighting; MCW)와 MD 요오드강조-물제거(material iodine weighting; MIW)기법을 적용한 후, 칼슘의 부피를 Agatston score 값으로 비교 평가하였다. 인체유사 팬톰의 칼슘 부피는 keV가 증가할수록 감소하였다(p<0.05). 가장 유사한 이중에너지 전산화단층촬영 집단은 70 keV로 그 차이는 각각 갈비뼈 $35.8{\pm}12.2$, 대퇴골 $16.1{\pm}24.1$, 골반 $13.7{\pm}18.8$, 척추 $179.0{\pm}61.8$이었다. 그러나 MSI의 부피는 부위별로 각각 갈비뼈 5.55%, 대퇴골 76.34%, 골반 55.16%, 척추 87.58%가 감소하였고, MD(MCW)는 각각 갈비뼈 55.96%, 대퇴골 80.78%, 골반 69.64%, 척추 54.23%가 줄었으며, MD(MIW)는 각각 갈비뼈 83.51%, 대퇴골 87.68%, 골반 86.64%, 척추 82.62%의 차이로 감소되었다(p<0.05). 이중에너지 전산화단층촬영으로 검사 시, 뼈의 부피는 keV의 증가에 따라서 감소하게 되고 약 70 keV의 에너지 영역에서 CSCT 집단과 유사한 부피로 측정할 수 있다. 그리고 MSI와 MD의 임상기법을 적용한 부피측정은 상당한 오차가 발생하므로 유의하여 사용하여야 한다.

  • 본 연구에서 검토한 지오텍스타일 컨테이너와 튜브를 활용한 수로구조물은 UAE에서 수행한 프로젝트로 수심이 4.0m 이하인 경우 지오텍스타일 컨테이너를 저개식 바지로부터 해저바닥에 착지시키는 방법으로 시공하고 그 윗부분은 지오텍스타일 튜브로 시공을 수행하였다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 지오텍스타일 컨테이너와 튜브를 활용하여 해상의 발전소 방파제 수로구조물 축조 시 고려된 구조물의 개별 및 다단구조물의 안정성, 지오텍스타일 재질 선택에 관련한 설계인자를 분석하였다. 또한, 방파제 구조물이 위치한 현장이 발전소의 용수의 유입과 유출이 발생하는 구역으로 발전소 유출입수의 온도가 방파제 구조물 내부의 온도변화에 미치는 영향에 대하여 분석하였다.

TIG용접에서 실드가스 종류의 변화에 따른 용접부의 변화상태 고찰 (Study on The Status of Welded Parts According to The Types of Shielding Gas in TIG Welding)

  • Tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding is commonly used in industries that require airtightness, watertightness, oiltightness, and precision. It is a non-consumable welding method that is commonly used for the welding of non-ferrous metals, but it can be used to weld most metals. The methods of TIG welding can be divided into three types. The first, manual welding is done directly on the metal by a welder with a torch. The second, semi-automatic welding, gets help from a material supplying machine, but it is conducted by a welder. Lastly, automated welding is conducted fully by a machine during its process and operation. Depending on the selection of electrode, the amount of heat that is applied to the base material and the electrode rod changes and makes the shape of welded parts different. A direct-current positive electrode was used for this study. Through the change of shielding gas type on a structural steel (SS-400) that is commonly used in industry, the composition and shape changes in welded parts were detected after welding. The heat-affected area, hardness value, and tensile strength were also identified through hardness testing and tensile testing. In this study, it was found that the higher hardness value of the heat-affected is, the weaker the tensile strength becomes.

핫 프레스 성형용 EL-Max 소재 초정밀 연삭 가공에 관한 연구 (Study on Ultra-precision Grinding of EL-Max Material for Hot Press Molding)

  • Demand for optical glass device used for lighting could increase rapidly because of LED lighting market growth. The optical glass devices that have been formed by hot press molding process the desired optical performance without being subjected to mechanical processing such as curve generation or grinding. EL-Max material has been used for many engineering applications because of their high wear resistance, high compressive strength, corrosion resistant and very good dimensional stability. EL-Max is very useful for a glass lens mold especially at high temperature and pressure. The performance and reliability of optical components are strongly influenced by the surface damage of EL-Max during grinding process. Therefore, the severe process condition optimization shall be necessary for the highly qualified EL-Max glass lens mold. To get the required qualified surface of EL-Max, the selection of type of the diamond wheel is also important. In this paper, we report best grinding conditions of ultra-precision grinding machining. The grinding machining results of the form accuracy and surface roughness have been analyzed by using Form Talysurf and NanoScan.

Resistance to Bombyx mori Densonucleosis Virus Type 1 and Its Inheritance in Silkworm, Bombyx mori L.

  • Bombyx mori densonucleosis virus type 1 (BmDNV1)- a non occluded virus causes flacherie disease in the susceptible stocks of the silkworm, Bombyx mori. However, some stocks are non-susceptible. Non-susceptibility to BmDNV1 in B. mori is a unique case where the virus infection is completely inhibited by a single gene of the host. A survey conducted by this institute in some parts of Karnataka state has revealed that, 43.05% of the total incidence of flacherie disease caused by non-occluded viruses, are due to the synergistic infection of B. mori densonucleosis and infectious flacherie virus. Earlier study indicated that rearing of BmDNV1 resistant silkworm stock is effective in protecting silkworm against BmIFV also. In the present study the response of 78 silkworm stocks which include 42 of non-diapausing and 36 of diapausing groups, to BmDNV1 is investigated. Newly ecdysed third instar larvae were inoculated per-os with 10% inoculum of BmDNV1 extracted from the mid-gut of infected silkworm. One non-diapausing and three diapausing silkworm stocks were found to be resistant to BmDNV1. Eleven silkworm stocks were found to possess moderate resistance whereas rest sixty three were found to be susceptible to BmDNV1. Genetic analysis has shown that the resistance to BmDNV1 is autosomally inherited and controlled by a major dominant or a major recessive gene in different silkworm stocks. These resistant stocks can be utilized as the resource material to develop BmDNV1 resistant commercial hybrids. The selection strategies, depending upon the mode of inheritance of resistance in the resource material chosen, are discussed.

다공성 중공사막 기액 접촉기틀 이용한 $SO_2$ 제거에서 막재질과 흡수제의 영향 (Effect of Membrane Material and Absorbent Type on $SO_2$ Removal Using Microporous Hollow-fiber Membrane G-L Contactors)

  • 다공성 중공사막 분리막 기액접촉기을 이용한 황산화물 제거장치를 제작하고 다양한 상용 분리막과 자체 제작한 분리막을 이용하여 황산화물 제거 성능 실험을 수행하였다. 분리막을 이용한 황산화물 제거 성능 평가 결과 대단히 우수한 제거효율을 보였다. 중공사막을 이용하여 $SO_2$를 제거할 경우에 액막 저항을 낮출 수 있는 흡수제와 첨가제의 선정, 막 재질, 막 제조조건 등이 최적의 G-L Contactor개발에 중요한 변수로 나타났다. 향후 보다 소형화되고, 경제적이며 효율이 우수한 G-L Contactor System 개발에 대한 연구를 진행할 것이다.

  • Recently, research on precise parts required in aerospace, ship, and automobile industries has been actively conducted. In this paper, electron beam drilling machining parameters were selected and experiments were conducted to compare processing characteristics analysis according to machining parameters through machining experiments of a vaporization amplification sheet to which STS 304 was applied. Also, as a result of measuring the machining. As the thickness gradually increased, it was confirmed that the electron beam could not reach the vaporization amplification sheet and thus melted on the surface of the material. As a result of the experimental analysis, it was analyzed that the vaporization explosion reaction of the vaporization amplification sheet was not normally performed due to the working distance (WD) according to the material thickness.

Dynamic numerical simulation of plastic deformation and residual stress in shot peening of aluminium alloy

  • Shot peening is a cold surface treatment employed to induce residual stress field in a metallic component beneficial for increasing its fatigue strength. The experimental investigation of parameters involved in shot peening process is very complex as well as costly. The most attractive alternative is the explicit dynamics finite element (FE) analysis capable of determining the shot peening process parameters subject to the selection of a proper material's constitutive model and numerical technique. In this study, Ansys / LS-Dyna software was used to simulate the impact of steel shots of various sizes on an aluminium alloy plate described with strain rate dependent elasto-plastic material model. The impacts were carried out at various incident velocities. The influence of shot velocity and size on the plastic deformation, compressive residual stress and force-time response were investigated. The results exhibited that increasing the shot velocity and size resulted in an increase in plastic deformation of the aluminium target. However, a little effect of the shot velocity and size was observed on the magnitude of target's subsurface compressive residual stress. The obtained results were close to the published ones, and the numerical models demonstrated the capability of the method to capture the pattern of residual stress and plastic deformation observed experimentally in aluminium alloys. The study can be quite helpful in determining and selecting the optimal shot peening parameters to achieve specific level of plastic deformation and compressive residual stress in the aluminium alloy parts especially compressor blades.

Study on the promotion of inflammation and whitening of natural materials using bioconversion technology

  • Bioconversion, the enzymatic process by microorganism on organic precursor to desired products. The natural extract is converted into a form that can be easily absorbed into the skin, while scaling up of to higher quantity is possible. Selection of naturally processed raw material rather than chemically processed is preferred. Therefore, fermentation was carried out by mixing Rubus coreanus Miquel, soybean, Zanthoxylum schinifolium as bioconverting materials, the possibility of inflammation, whitening material were checked. In this study, useful microorganisms were isolated from various salted fish, and 16S rDNA sequence was analyzed to confirm their genetic characteristics. Combining the three natural materials using bioconversion technology to study their activity before and after fermentation. To evaluate the antioxidant activity and the active ingredient content the DPPH radical scavenging activity and the total polyphenol content were examined. Raw 264.7 cells were used to evaluate MTT assay, NO and $TNF-{\alpha}$ production inhibitory activity. Also, to evaluate the whitening activity, tyrosinase inhibitory activity and melanin formation inhibitory activity were measured using B16F10 cells. In total 34 strains were obtained from various salted fish. The effective strains useful for the bioconversion process, showed that DPPH radical scavenging ability and polyphenol content were increased in the two kinds of microbial treatment groups compared to the untreated group. 16S rDNA sequencing analysis of the strains showed excellent in Pediococcus pentosaceus B1 in comparison. An increase of up-to 156% in anti-oxidative activity and 141% in polyphenol content was observed after bioconversion. In addition, after mixed fermentation the toxidty of Raw 264.7 and B16F10 cells tended to decrease and a significant increase was observed in anti-inflammatory activity as well. Also, tyrosinase activity and melanin significantly. synthesis decreased significantly.

수산물 수급통계 실태 및 개선과제 (Current Status and Improvement of the Fisheries Supply and Demand Statistics)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify problems and suggest improvements of estimating procedures and item of fisheries supply-demand statistics served as a basis for the fisheries supply-demand policies. Korea Rural Economic Institute(KREI) and Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries(MOF) respectively publish the fisheries supply-demand statistics. But the reliability of data is low as the statistics of these two organizations are limited and show discrepancy in the numbers. It is therefore difficult to use them as the basic data for policies. Also, an accurate data aggregation is difficult due to following problems in the items of statistics. 1) Problems in estimating route sales and non-route sales of production, 2) adequacy of fishery product yield rate compared to raw material in the fisheries import/export sector, 3) selection of target companies for understand stocks and survey scope of fish species, 4) applying'0'to non-edible product demand etc. In order to develop the fisheries industry as a future growth industry, it is necessary to establish the accurate fisheries supply-demand policy as the instability of fisheries supply and demand is increasing. To do this, statistical reliability has to be improved. The improvements proposed in this study should be implemented considering urgency. First of all, an exhaustive analysis of stock statistics and conversion rates of raw material yield in the fisheries import/export sector should be conducted. In the medium term and the long term, transferring production statistics to MOF and surveys on the use demand of non-food product and the level of reduced and discarded seafood products should be carried out in consecutive order.
