Responsibility for Dissemination of Inaccurate Information on the Internet

  • The article is devoted to the study of the issue of liability for the dissemination of inaccurate information on the Internet. The article emphasizes that now the public opinion of socially active segments of the population is mainly formed on the basis of not critical but subjective ("consumer") analysis of the received information. The modern realities show that the main source of its origin is the Internet: electronic media and, above all, the relevant social networks. The problem of dissemination by the mass media of inaccurate information obtained via the Internet is solved; it is seen in bringing the laws of Ukraine, which regulate public relations regarding the dissemination of information, into compliance with the Civil Code of Ukraine. The issues of development and implementation of new legislative acts aimed at regulating the status of subjects of informational relations on the Internet and establishing the grounds for their liability are also investigated.

  • A lot of designers are adopting a mixed imitation as techniques of cretion because cultural boundary and structure of meaning in the era of post-modernism are collapsed and dissolved. I raise up a question mark to how can genuine and creative designers can be identified at this epoch when we are today familiar with the trend of informationalization, opening and globalization. Characterisitics of multi-culturalism and compromising blending are meshed with appearance of a theory of disorganization and consumer-driven economic activity of multi-national enterprises in the age of post capitalism. Accordingly it can be said that designers are leaning upon public and consumeroriented pattern rather than pursuing a creative cultural production. With mass media in rapid advancement and public culture in father dissemination, mass production and mass re-production became a natural cultural phenomenon strengthen ing its root. Creative designers somewhat slow and limitative in pace of adaption to rapid changing society amid such social backgrounds and flooded information are coming to dead-end of wall. A mixed imitation as techniques of creation is a result of borrowing, duplicating or re-combining of existing things because the mixed imitation is equivalent to borrowing, copying, compilation and recombination of well-known artworks, motive, diverse people's cultural features, image, techniques and the likes. It is too delicate thing for one to definitely distinguish such cultural phenomenon from either one as creative work or a plagiarized work. Looking into the facts as they are, we should recognize the designers limitation in their creative works by means of the mixed imitation. thus we can have a view upon them from a criticizing standpoint against the designers creation and imitation. On the other hand, when we look at things how the mixed imitation appears in the fashion as a piece of culture, we can understand something of the contemporary designers. I try to find a significance in seeking out a method of approaching to creative fashion designers direction in future times.

A study on the consumers' perception and acceptance toward food irradiation (방사선조사 식품에 대한 소비자의 인지도 및 수용도에 관한연구)

  • Food irradiation is an emerging technology which offers many advantages such as reduction of microorganisms, extension of shelf-life of foods, reduction in the use of post-harvest chemicals, and destruction of insects and parasites. The commercial utilization of food irradiation, however, has been restricted because of the uncertainty of consumers' responses to it. Because success of food irradiation in the marketplace will depend upon their acceptability by consumers, this study focused on the consumers' perception and acceptance toward food irradiation in order to get basic data for commercial utilization of food irradiation and give information to consumers to help rational consumption behavior. The survey with 411 respondents living in Youngnam area was conducted during the spring of 1997 by the questionnaires. The results and implications from this study are as follows. First, consumers' knowledge about food irradiation is scanty. Two-thirds of respondents in the survey had not heard of irradiated foods and many people confused irradiation with radioactivity. In the willingness to accept food irradiation, one-third of respondents showed a wait-and-see attitude. This result indicated consumers had insufficient information about the irradiation process and nationwide education of food irradiation technology should be undertaken. Second, although the purchase and use of food are very important consumption behaviors, consumer education by mass communication has been rarely done. For the successful commercialization of food irradiation, the information provision by mass communication for the consumers should be made. Third, consumers generally worried about residual pesticide and intended to purchase irradiated foods if radioactivity was not retained in the foods. Therefore, food irradiation could be an alternative method to the use of pesticide Fourth, consumers pointed out that they wanted to extend shelf-life of milk and dairy foods, fish and seafood and to irradiate these foods. Therefore, research for the safety of irradiated foods should be continually conducted. finally, labeling for irradiated foods is needed to provide the information and to further increase public understanding. Especially, the labeling should show the definite reason why irradiation is being used. In conclusion, recently, under the circumstances that the commercial utilization of food irradiation and irradiation for the import and export products have been increased in many countries, many efforts are needed to improve the quality of irradiated foods, and prove the safety of them in Korea. In addition, consumer education for food irradiation should be given to help consumers to make decision for food purchase and use.

A Study on Marketing of Cultured Laver Products (양식해태의 유통에 관한 조사 연구)

  • Laver io one of the most necessary and seasonal items in Korean food from oldtimes. Laver is lagely eaten in dried form, and its supply depends entirely upon culture weeds. The history of laver culture in Korea about sixty or seventy years is older than in Japan. Significance of laver culture is divided into two aspects, one is food supply in the nation, and the other is export to other countries. Houses engaged in laver culture are about foully thousands, and laver production in 1972 is estimated as 1, 3 bitten sheets. (1 sheet is a dried laver of 20 cm sq, in the shape of paper) Especcially meaning of layer production is the concentration of labour input, and systematic management of labour. From around 1920, the method of laver culture was introduced by Japanese Imperialism for mono culture in shallow seas, and mass products of laver is provided to Japan market, DOMESTIC MARKET Fundamental consume function calculates at below, $D_{(68_71)}$=16354 $Y^{0.471}$ $P^{-1.0662}$ where D is total layer demand, Y income variable, P price variable. It means income elasticity is 476. in the whole country, and price elasticity is 1, 07. But generally income elasticity is higher in urban area than in rural area, as shown at 1, 3 in Seoul city. Expence of laver in house expenditure is mutually correlated with another expence, See Table 12 about the relative function. See Table 14 and 16 about the relation between the gathering and the changes of price in auction, wholesale and retail price support system is for two effects, one of which is constraint of the upper price, the other is rise of the lower price. EXPORTING MARKET Japanese demand function of laver products is, Log D=5, 289+1, 108 Log Y-1, 395 Log P (r=0.987) where D is Japanese laver demand, Y income variable, P price variable. according to which income elasticity is 1. 1 and price elasticity is 1.4. Laver production in 1970 tile highest record till then, is estimated as six billion sheets. But the recent improvement of laver culture techniques, the production of seeds and freezing storage of seeds has been stabilized. Futher new culture farms have been developed by means of break- water fences or by floating culture method. These improvements have been backed up with increased demand of laver products. Import quantity and price of Korean laver products are restrained by three organizations, that is producer, distributor and consumer. This relationship calculated by regression equation shows that import is influenced only producer organization, at the sacrifice of consumer profit. For increase to export of laver products, we urgently require to open foreign trade of laver products for Japanese consumer, .and Japan has political responsibility to solve Korean laver structure. But with long run timeseries, as regards Japanese production and import quantity, importing function shows increasing trend as below, 250 million sheets <3, 947.1674+0.005 $L_{g}$ >) 600 million sheets where $L_{q}$ is relative production quantity of laver in Japan.   • This article aims at exploring the convergence and sharing of cultural tastes among Northeast Asian countries by analyzing TV drama "Boys over flower", based on the original Japanese manga and produced in Korea, China, Japan and Taiwan in the $21^{st}$ century. It explores the expectation and desire of the mass who have taken pleasure in watching it in each country as well. This article argues that the sharing of the sensitivities and tastes of young women, the main consumer of the drama, by the mass of the four countries, are an important cultural phenomenon in that it reveals the emergence of "girl" as an active cultural consumer, who had been the object of a restraint and strict protection of the bourgeois family structure.

Effect of biocide addition on plantlet growth and contamination occurrence during the in vitro culture of blueberry

  • Interest and great demand for blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum) have increased, as V. corymbosum is now one of the most economically important crops in Korea. It is expected that blueberry production and the area planted for cultivation will increase consistently in the years ahead because of high profitability and the consumer's demand for healthy ingredients. Effective mass production of blueberry is urgently needed for commercial cultivation establishment, but a main limitation is lack of a propagation system that produces a disease-free plant material for commercial plantation. A large amount of research has focused entirely on developing tissue culture techniques for blueberry propagation. However, controlling fungal and bacterial contamination of woody plant material is extremely difficult. Our study was conducted to investigate the effect of biocide addition during the in vitro culture of blueberry on plantlet growth and contamination occurrence. Four biocides, including Plant Preservative Mixture ($PPM^{TM}$), vancomycin, nystatin and penicillin G, were used in varying concentrations during the in vitro propagation of blueberry. When nystatin was added into the medium at low concentrations, the overall growth of blueberry plantlets was retarded. Addition of vancomycin and penicillin G in high concentrations decreased contamination but induced plantlet mortality. On the other hand, when 1ml/L $PPM^{TM}$ was added, the growth characteristics of blueberry plantlets did not significantly differ from non-treatment (control), and the contamination occurrence rate was very low. From these results, we found that the addition of the appropriate biocide could provide an effective method to reduce contamination in the culture process, thereby raising in vitro production efficiency.

A Study on Knit Wear Buying Behavior according to Shopping Orientations (쇼핑성향에 따른 니트웨어 구매행동에 관한 연구)

  • The Main objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between shopping orientations and Knit wear Buying Behavior of college female students. A questionnaire was developed to measure knit wear purchasing motives, fashion information sources of knit wear, evaluation criteria of knit wear product, and general clothing buying behavior. The questionnaire was administered to 505 college female students in Chonbuk and Chonnam. The data was analyzed using percentage, frequency, mean, factor analysis, Cluster Analysis and ANOVA, Duncan Multiple Range test. The results of the study were as follows: 1. The college female students were classified into fifth subdivisions by the cluster analysis; convenient shopping group, recreational shopping group, self-confident shopping group, those of Fashion-pursuit group, economic shopping group. 2. The knit wear purchasing motives of consumers were significantly different according to shopping orientation subdivision in social, personal, rational. 3. In the case of fashion information sources of knit wear, significant differences were found according to shopping orientation subdivision in mass media information, information by marketer, mail order advertisements, information by consumer. 4. The evaluation criteria of knit wear product of consumers were significantly different depending on shopping orientation subdivision in esthetic, practicality, individual expression, external criterion. 5. In the case of dissatisfactory factors for wearing knit wear product, significant differences were found according to shopping orientation subdivision. 6. In the case of asking factors to the manufactures of knit wear product, significant differences were found according to shopping orientation subdivision.

  • In the twentieth century, due to extraordinary development of companies and life style, etc, market environments to which companies around the world currently face are being changed with reflecting the current age in various fields, which result from globalization, digitalized innovation, diversity by information acceptance, an enhanced level of a consumer's consciousness, developed mass media, etc. The companies are trying to expand their sale areas, not only products but also their cultures, images, and brand power in the name of a 'marketing' in a space In other words, if companies and brands express some identities without considering an entire image evaluated by customers, a mis-positioning for the companies and the brands may be caused. In this case, the companies and brands may not influence on potential major customers at all, of an image for the companies and brands may be degrade Accordingly, a space marketing is required as a distinguished strategic means in characterizing identities according to brands. Also, a design for communicating the space marketing with the customers is required. Therefore, the purpose and effects of the present research are to analyze how identity characteristics for brands and company images are reflected by analyzing a faadeof a hall for housing cultures, and are to analyze how they are recognized by customer.

The Korean Youths' Understanding of Irradiated Food (청소년의 방사선조사 식품 '이해(understanding)'에 관한 전국조사 연구)

  • This study provides a national examination on youths' 'understanding' of irradiated food. The 1,200 subjects of the survey were randomly sampled from male and female students throughout the nation, between grades five and eleven. The survey was conducted toward these samples in November 2000. The number of respondents with exposure to irradiated food was so small, amounting to only 4.0 percent of the whole sample. The core concept used in this study is 'impression'. An impression is information about a specific subject, which carries significance to an individual. The results show that the higher the grade was, the more value the contents of impression contained. Furthermore, impressions concerning atomic or nuclear energy, and radioactivity increased greatly among students in middle school and above. Providing information of effects and advantages of irradiated food was focused to increase positive impressions and decrease the negative ones more greatly than providing simple factual information. Youths showed less value-centered impressions of irradiated food and more impressions centered on fragmented facts than adults. Respondents previously exposed irradiated food were shown to acquire the most of their information from the television and newspaper media. Among six information sources presented in the survey, youths pointed out 'science and technology research institutes' as the most credible. International organizations and environmental/ consumer organizations were evaluated as having relatively high credibility. Providing simple factual information of irradiated food did not seem to bring about any difference to the intention of purchasing irradiated food. On the other hand, respondents provided with effects-included information showed an increase in such intention. Our research results of the youth show a notable difference with that of the adults. Thus, programs and strategies to enhance youths' understanding should differ from those concerning adults.

A Study on Development of Fashion Goods using Gilsang Patterns - Focusing on Apparel - (길상문양을 응용한 자카드 직물 패션상품 개발 연구 - 어패럴 제품을 중심으로 -)

  • This study focuses on the trend of modern society that places importance on health and happiness. By using gilsang (signs that brings good fortunes) patterns that wishes for fortune and health, the objective of this study is to design a distinct but universal fashion good that is unique to Korea and is used not only as a piece of artwork, but as part of development of new and assorted cultural products that is competitive in the international society. This study was conducted first by studying related documents for the theoretical background. In addition, in order to satisfy consumer demands, a jacquard that can procure international competitiveness was designed and fashion goods fitting to this was planned. Through this, the various possibilities of using the jacquard designs were suggested. The development process of fashion goods using jacquard was divided into 10 stages: theme setting, gilsang pattern setting, sketching, textile plan, design organization, input, simulation process, perforation and sewing, selection of design for the fashion good and goods production. Fashion materials are a very important element in creating variations and uniqueness in the fashion industry. Development of new materials has made the aesthetic and ornamental elements, together with the practical and functional aspects of textiles possible. A major issue today is rising out of the past mass production method of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing), and developing various artistic patterns that can be used in mass-produced products and assorted production in small quantities in order to develop specialized fashion goods.
