액션게임에서 나타난 매저키즘적 양상 연구 -질 들뢰즈의 『매저키즘』 이론 중심으로- (A Study on Masochistic Aspects of Action Games -Focusing on 'Gilles Deleuze's 『Masochism』 Theory-)

  • 액션게임은 매저키즘(Masochism)의 특수한 배치(constellation)인 부인, 서스펜스, 기다림, 물신숭배, 환상 이 모두를 내재하고 있다. 이러한 액션게임의 특성은 매저키즘과 연관 지어 분석이 가능하게 한다. 연구에서는 매저키즘에 상반의 의미로 보는 병인학적 오인의 결과인 사디즘은 가급적 배제하여 분석하였다. 그러나 액션게임을 사디즘(Sadism)으로 오인되지 않도록 약간의 비교 분석은 첨부하였다. 게임은 게이머-존재와 게임-캐릭터의 계약의 틀에서 연결시킴으로 창조되는 주체의 장으로써 가상적 교감이 이루어지는 공간을 생성 시켜준다. 그리고 이러한 공간 속에서 시각적 촉각이 교감됨은 쾌락의 차이의 체계를 만들어 준다. 매저키즘은 게임과 같이 계약적 관계로 물신숭배를 통해 결국은 자신이 생성해 놓은 세상 속에서 쾌락을 성취한다. 이처럼 액션게임과 매저키즘은 기본적 상호 근친성이 있음이 나타내고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 본고는 실재 액션게임의 예를 들어 액션게임의 존재론을 분석을 시작하였고 액션게임이 매저키즘적 쾌락의 성취가 있음을 알 수 있었다.

  • The purpose of this study is to express the sexuality of feminism in the modern fashion. As for the methods of research, literary research was carried out using reference based on feminism history and sexuality concept and demonstrative analysis was undertaken using 2000's collections photographs. In the results of that, the sexuality of gender resistance feminism is featured by three key words: sado-masochism sexuality, bi sexuality and hetero sexuality. First, sado-masochism sexuality shows fetish look and dominatrix look shown in the strong attitudes. Sado-masochism sexuality is setting fetishes such as mask, whip, chain, metallic materials and tight leather boots. Second, bi sexuality presents mannish look of soft and feminie style's slim pants suit with ruffle, flounce and decorated detail blouse. and fetish look wearing of sexual symbol clothes such as corset and bustier. Third, hetero sexuality represent glamour look which exposure and emphasis of breasts, hips and other sexual symbols.

  • Upon the threshold of late 20th century, the social, cultural and artistic trend began to pursue aesthetic pluralism and deconstructivism, and thus, fashion also began to reflect such a trend only to express cruel, detestable, horrible and ugly aesthetics. Under such circumstances, this study focused on the cruel images appearing in the modern fashion and thereby, attempted to determine their causes in reference to Julia Kristeva's theories. Her theories of women explain that women have incessant desires or blind obsessions about penis due to the bisexual instinct inherent in their subconsciousness, and thereby, discuss sado-masochism, a characteristic of women's violence and cruelty. In addition, she determines of abject, detestable and horrible nature of women by explaining their struggle to be separated from mothers at the stage of Oedipus (sexual differences). Based on such theories about women's cruelty, the cruel images shown in the modern fashion are categorized into sado-masochism, the violent and destructive image, and abjection, the women's apparels made of unpleasant, terrible and creepy materials decorated, to be reviewed systematically.

  • The remarkable tendency shown in recent fashion can be the customer's passiveness, not only their feeling desire for product but also needs for product seem to be made by mass media. So this condition can be thought as the currency of energy for being subjected. The public of fashion eagerly want the fashion style to be suggested for following it. The late Freudian, Erich Fromm said that the reason why individuals demand themselves to follow the masses' move could be explained as the hope against the fear of feeling not being from staying isolated and having no direction. Escaping from this fear, individuals ought to believe the necessity of participation in public. The fashion is willing to be defined as the united condition by individuals in the hope being consolidate in masses against being solitude. Nowadays, people can share many informations with internet, the fastest medium, which makes the individuals impatient not to be isolate, thinking other people must contact the information and should feel pressure of taking part in the currency. Even though the style is considered to be awkward for following it, it's frequent exposure on mass media by celebrities wearing the style could soon make a fashion. This is able to show that many customers should incline to consider less about their style or taste, whereas lean to pursue after masses' authority. Recent consumers have propensity to avoid feeling concern about others' criticism, on the other side, they try to chase of the fashion as masses' choice for feeling peaceful. The reason why people recognize not to have clothing to wear in spite of a large wardrobe, it must reflect their needs promoted from outside influence of introducing for new styles.

Walter Van Beirendonck 디자인에 나타난 미학 (Design Aesthetics of Walter Van Beirendonck)

  • Walter Van Beirendonck expresses a fairy tale world of perverted sexual desire of sadism and masochism, violence, and aggressiveness that breaks from a transient one-time concept as is an essential element of fashion. This study classifies the aesthetic characteristic shown on the design of Walter Van Beirendonck and analyzes the intent of his symbolism and meaning. The attempt has a meaning in exploring a new directionality of fashion by conveying a critical message to this end, contemporary fashion breaks down boundaries with artistic genre and connects a problematic consciousness that exists in life with fashion. The results of study on the aesthetic characteristics of Walter Van Beirendonck are as follows. First, Beirendonck emphasized an interpersonal image about body by giving a question through the deconstruction of image on a perfect body into race, age, and body based on body modification. Second, fetishism appeared as a consciousness that human identity and character can be changed by connecting a fetish element of sexual identity, and sadism and masochism with fashion's imagination. Third, infantilism as an amusement expression of the form metaphorically satirized life of modern people. Fourth, makeup shown on performance or festival of an African tribe was used in the way of mixture or reuse for ethnography to obtain inspiration from ethnography. Fifth, pop art combined a popular culture code as amusement through mass production and mass media. Aesthetics of Beirendonck do not have norm and are bold in using form, color, pattern, print, and styling because Beirendonck reinterpreted critical attitudes about essential problems that human life entails into a motif of his symbolic meaning in amusement. In regards to his design aesthetics, Beirendonck expanded fashion to the scope of Gesamtkunstwerk in a consistent and continued theme combined with philosophical creativity and differentiated from other fashion designers.

Signifying Process in Fashion Magazine Advertisements - Centering on Advertisements Expressing Eroticism -

  • The object of this study is to reach a semiotics access in a specialized magazine advertisement, by emphasizing the advertisement, which uses eroticism. The main components of eroticism are voyeurism, narcissism, fetishism, masochism, and sadism. From the results of analyzing their impact on fashion magazine advertisements, which is limited in erotic expression, 'the women's gender role ideology' is mainstream. Especially, this is joined with a 'patriarch ideology' and the 'women's role ideology' on the view of feminism. It can be expressed erotic with 'traditional women's roles', 'rebelling against tradition', and a 'leading women role on sexuality'.

  • I got the following result from the bibliographic study of disease in relation to sexual psychology. The results are follows. 1. Sexual disorder is divided sexual disfunction, paraphilias, gender identity disorder, homosexuality and that is subdivided fetishism, transvestic fetishism, pedophilia, exhibitionism, voyerism, sexual masochism, sexual sadism, frotteurism, gender identity disorder of childhood, gender identity disorder of youth and adult, intersexual disorders. 2. In korean oriental medicine mainly refer to sexual disfunction, and sexual psychological disorder include Hwajeon(花癲), Buinmongio(婦人夢交), Guabusani disease(寡婦師尼病). 3. Social psychologic cause and, oedipus complex, sexual hormone induce sexual psychological disorder but in korean oriental medicine, recognized sexual psychological disorder place under the category of sexual disfunction. 4. The latest medicine has various medical treatment in sexual disorder as avoidence conditioning, medication, role playing, behavior modification, psychoanalysis theraphy but in korean oriental medicine has only medication theraphy, so need more introduction of medical treatment.

서울지하철 범죄 실태에 대한 범죄심리학적 연구 (Study on the Realities in Seoul Subway Crimes: Criminal Psychology)

  • ‘Defined legally as a violation of law' (Sutherland, E. H. Principles of Criminology, Lippincott, Chicago, 1939) Crime within the group is essentially and primarily antisocial in that the criminal who is welfare of his group acts instead against it and breaks the principles of social solidarity not merely by not doing what these principles prescribe, but by doing something exactly opposites. Any program set up to attack crime and delinquent behavior at their sources. A program of his nature needs the constant and comprehensive collaboration of psychiatrists, social works, educations, lawmakers, and public officials, since crime is a social problem and it should be treated as such. Some crime preventives which should be mentioned are as follows, (1) The insurance that every child will be decently born and that his home life be socially and economically adequate; without socially mature parents the chid is handicapped at the start; thus parental education, integrated with the public school system, should be developed now. (2) A more meaningful educational program which would emphasize ideals of citizenship, moral integrity, and respect for the law and the police. (3) A periodic check made for potential delinquents throughout the public schools and treatment provided if possible; and if not, proper segregation in institutions. (4) Careful attention paid to press, movies, and radio so that crime may no longer appear to be glamorous. This can be done by women's clubs, civic bodies, and other educational groups exerting pressure on the movie syndicates and broadcasting companies to free their productions of the tawdry and lurid characteristics of crime and criminals. Aggression associated with the phallic stage of development, The child ordinarily comprehends sexual intercourse as an aggressive and sadistic act on the part of the male, and specifically on the part of the penis. Evidence that the penis is phantasied as a weapon of violence and destruction come from unconscious productions of normal adults. Limerick, for instance, often refer to the penis as square, or too large, etc., so that intercourse is dangerous and painful for the partner, This may wall be a projection of the male's own fear of coitus. A certain portion of the death-instinct always remains within the person; it is called 'primal sadism' and according to Freud is identical with masochism.   • 'Fantasy', the central notion of this essay, is discussed here more as a new paradigm in order to describe the structure of a work of art than as a stylistic characteristic proper to a specific genre of art. It means the whole situation and experience produced by two connected terms 'corporeal subject - screen'. Roland Barthes explained the 'semiographic painting' by Andre Masson as a field in which happens a certain connexion between the impulse of subject and the image, which views the painting not as a physical object but as a 'cinematic screen' ; painting may be redefined as a dream or a fantasy of the corporeal subject. And such an idea of 'art as fantasy' is closely related to the recent theoretical attempts consisting in abolishing the vision-centered conception of art since Renaissance. In this essay, the notion of fantasy as an aesthetic model is sketched by means of the Freud's notes on the fantasy 'A child is being beaten' and Lyotard's more advanced analyse on its attributes and operations. In Lyotard's analysis, fantasy is defined as a 'bloc' or a 'matrix-figure' featuring simultaneous conversion between the active and the passive, sadism and masochism, and coexistence of imcompossible meanings. In this sense, fantasy may be given to us as an analogical model from which we can outline the aesthetic characteristics of electronic media art involving virtual reality and interactivity.

  • 구비전승 서사무가인 "바리공주"는 바리공주가 무녀가 되는 과정을 그리고 있다. 한국에서 이승과 저승의 중개자인 무녀의 삶은 인간을 창조한 어머니신의 모습과 일치한다. 부모로부터 버림받은 딸로서, 죽음의 세계를 경험하고 부모를 위해 자신을 완전히 희생하며 남편을 위해 헌신적으로 일하고 일곱 아들을 낳은 바리공주는 다산과 풍요, 창조와 파괴, 삶과 죽음을 아우르는 어머니신으로, 자신의 자식들을 보살피는 마음으로 인간들에게 죽음의 길을 안내해주는 '따뜻한 어머니신'이다. 인간의 삶과 죽음에서 중요한 의미를 갖는 일곱이라는 숫자의 상징성은 그녀가 다섯 번째나 여섯 번째가 아니라 바로 일곱 번째 딸로 태어날 수밖에 없었다는 사실을 확인해준다.
