In this paper, we proposed a new 3-dimensional(3-D) object-tracking algorithm that can control a stereo camera using a variable window mask supported by which uses ,B-D information and an optical BPEJTC. Hence, three-dimensional information characteristics of a stereo vision system, distance information from the stereo camera to the tracking object. can be easily acquired through the elements of a stereo vision system. and with this information, we can extract an area of the tracking object by varying window masks. This extractive area of the tracking object is used as the next updated reference image. furthermore, by carrying out an optical BPEJTC between a reference image and a stereo input image the coordinates of the tracking objects location can be acquired, and with this value a 3-D object tracking can be accomplished through manipulation of the convergence angie and a pan/tilt of a stereo camera. From the experimental results, the proposed algorithm was found to be able to the execute 3-D object tracking by extracting the area of the target object from an input image that is independent of the background noise in the stereo input image. Moreover a possible implementation of a 3-D tele-working or an adaptive 3-D object tracker, using the proposed algorithm is suggested.
The demand of reflective display devices are increasing by widespread of electronic books. In this study, the emotional and reading state for reading material of paper books, reflective display, and LCD display were compared to each other. In order to determine the consumers' sensibility of E-ink e-book the emotional assessment of three different types of books was evaluated following with readability assessment and preference experiment. These experiments controlled contents on the screen by using masks to hide hardware aspects of contents. The results of the sensibility reactions by emotional-vocabulary-experiment using semantic scale show that E-ink is closer to paper than LCD. The readability and preference questionnaire for the experimental results show that e-ink is preferred than LCD and paper was preferred or seem similar to E-ink. The conclusions shows that E-ink and paper has similar sensibility and E-ink e-book is expected to replace paper books.

In this paper, we suggest a new direct method for mage segmentation using texture and color information combined through a multivariate linear discriminant algorithm. The color texture is computed in nin 3${\times}$3 masks obtained from each 3${\times}$3${\times}$3 spatio-spectral neighborhood in the image using the classical haralick and Pressman texture features. Among these 9${\times}$28 texture features the best set was extracted from a training set. The resulting set of 10 features were used to segment an image into four different regions. The resulting segmentation was Compared to classical color and texture segmentation methods using both box classifiers and maximum likelihood classification. It compared favourably on the test image from a Fastred-Lightgreen stained prostatic histological tissue section based on visual inspection. The classification accuracy of 97.5% for the new method obtained on the training data was also among the best of the tested methods. If these results hold for a larger set of images, this method should be a useful tool for segmenting images where both color and texture are relevant for the segmentation process.
Existing methods of object tracking use template matching, re-detection of object boundaries or motion information. The template matching method requires very long computation time. The re-detection of object boundaries may produce false edges. The method using motion information shows poor tracking performance in moving camera. In this paper, a robust object tracking algorithm is proposed, using projected motion and histogram intersection. The initial object image is constructed by selecting the regions of interest after image segmentation. From the selected object, the approximate displacement of the object is computed by using 1-dimensional intensity projection in horizontal and vortical direction. Based on the estimated displacement, various template masks are constructed for possible orientations and scales of the object. The best template is selected by using the modified histogram intersection method. The robustness of the proposed tracking algorithm has been verified by experimental results.

The emerging H.264/AVC video coding standard improves coding performance significantly by adopting many advanced techniques. This is achieved at the expense of great increasing encoder complexity. Specifically the intra prediction using RDO examines all possible combinations of coding modes, which depend on spatial directional correlation with adjacent blocks. For 4${\times}$4 luma blocks, there are 9 modes, and for 16${\times}$16 luma and 8${\times}$8 chroma blocks, there are 4 modes, respectively. Therefore the number of mode combinations for each macroblock is 592. This paper presents a method to reduce the RDO complexity using simple directional masks and neighboring modes. According to the proposed method, we reduce the number of mode combinations to 132 at the most. Experimental results show the proposed method reduces the encoding time up to $70\%$ with negligible loss of PSNR and bitrate increase compared to the H.264/AVC exhaustive search.

In recent years, inkjet printing technology has received significant attention as a micro/nanofabrication technique for flexible printing of electronic circuits and solar cells, as well for biomaterial patterning. It eliminates the need for physical masks, causes fewer environment problems, lowers fabrication costs, and offers good layer-to-layer registration. To fulfill the requirements for use in the above applications, however, the inkjet system must meet certain criteria such as high frequency jetting, uniform droplet size, high density nozzle array, etc. Existing inkjet devices are either based on thermal bubbles or piezoelectric pumping; they have several drawbacks for flexible printing. For instance, thermal bubble jetting has limitations in terms of size and density of the nozzle array as well as the ejection frequency. Piezoelectric based devices suffer from poor pumping energy in addition to inadequate ejection frequency. Recently, an electrohydrodynamic (EHD) printing technique has been suggested and proposed as an alternative to thermal bubble or piezoelectric devices. In EHD jetting, a liquid (ink) is pumped through a nozzle and a strong electric field is applied between the nozzle and an extractor plate, which induce charges at the surfaces of the liquid meniscus. This electric field creates an electric stress that stretches the meniscus in the direction of the electric field. Once the electric field force is larger than the surface tension force, a liquid droplet is formed. An EHD inkjet head can produce droplets smaller than the size of the nozzle that produce them. Furthermore, the EHD nano-inkjet can eject high viscosity liquid through the nozzle forming tiny structures. These unique features distinguish EHD printing from conventional methods for sub-micron resolution printing. In this presentation, I will introduce the recent research results regarding the EHD nano-inkjet and the printing system, which has been applied to solar cell or thin film transistor applications.
To make vector data from a map which has no negative plates by using vectoring tool, it is necessary that we can extract objects to be vectorized from a scanned map. In this paper, we studied on extracting vectoring objects from scanned color maps. To do this, we classified vectoring objects into three types : line type, filled - area type and character/symbol type. To make the extraction method effective, we analyzed characteristics of vectoring objects and color distribution in scanned color maps. Then, we applied these characteristics to designing process of the extraction method. To extract the line type object, our line tracing method was designed by using the masks which considered connectivity and geometrical characteristics of lines. By using the local thresholding method and the similarity function for comparing the color distribution between two NxN blocks, we extracted character/symbol and the filled-area objects effectively. The method proposed in this paper can be used for constructing the small scale GIS application economically using existing color maps.

We present a novel 3D fabrication method with single X-ray process utilizing an X-ray mask in which a micro-actuator is integrated. An X-ray absorber is electroplated on the shuttle mass driven by the integrated micro-actuator during deep X-ray exposures. 3D microstructures are revealed by development kinetics and modulated in-depth dose distribution in resist, usually PMMA. Fabrication of X-ray masks with integrated electrothermal xy-stage and electrostatic actuator is presented along with discussions on PMMA development characteristics. Both devices use $20-\mu\textrm{m}$-thick overhanging single crystal Si as a structural material and fabricated using deep reactive ion etching of silicon-on-insulator wafer, phosphorous diffusion, gold electroplating, and bulk micromachining process. In electrostatic devices, $10-\mu\textrm{m}-thick$ gold absorber on $1mm{\times}1mm$ Si shuttle mass is supported by $10-\mu\textrm{m}-wide$, 1-mm-long suspension beams and oscillated by comb electrodes during X-ray exposures. In electrothermal devices, gold absorber on 1.42 mm diameter shuttle mass is oscillated in x and y directions sequentially by thermal expansion caused by joule heating of the corresponding bent beam actuators. The fundamental frequency and amplitude of the electrostatic devices are around 3.6 kHz and $20\mu\textrm{m}$, respectively, for a dc bias of 100 V and an ac bias of 20 VP-P (peak-peak). Displacements in x and y directions of the electrothermal devices are both around $20{\;}\mu\textrm{m}$at 742 mW input power. S-shaped and conical shaped PMMA microstructures are demonstrated through X-ray experiments with the fabricated devices.
A nuclear, biological, chemical (NBC) canister was indigenously developed using active carbon impregnated with ammoniacal salts of copper (II), chromium (VI) and silver (I), and high efficiency particulate aerosol filter media. The NBC canister was evaluated against carbon tetra chloride ($CCl_4$) vapours, which were used as a simulant for persistent chemical warfare agents under dynamic conditions for testing breakthrough times of canisters of gas masks in the National Approval Test of Respirators. The effects of $CCl_4$ concentration, test flow rate, temperature, and relative humidity (RH) on the breakthrough time of the NBC canister against $CCl_4$ vapour were also studied. The impregnated carbon that filled the NBC canister was characterized for surface area and pore volume by $N_2$ adsorption-desorption isotherm at liquid nitrogen temperature. The study clearly indicated that the NBC canister provides adequate protection against $CCl_4$ vapours. The breakthrough time decreased with the increase of the $CCl_4$ concentration and flow rate. The variation in temperature and RH did not significantly affect the breakthrough behaviour of the NBC canister at high vapour concentration of $CCl_4$, whereas the breakthrough time of the NBC canister was reduced by an increase of RH at low $CCl_4$ vapour concentration.

Recently, as demand of video processor unit rapidly increases, excellent quality of the video has been required. However, generally, video data occurs the quick flame of video due to various external causes in process of acquisition, treatment, and transmission, and major cause of the quick flame of the video is known as the noise. There are various kinds of noise, which are added to the video, AWGN is a typical one. Thus, this thesis suggested algorithm that treats in three methods by scale of the edge through using edge information of local masks. In case that edge pixel is big, it applied spatial weighting according to equation of straight line about direction of edge pixel. In case that edge pixel is middle, it suggested algorithm with spatial weighting filter and average filter, and for the smooth territory, it suggested algorithm that treats with average filter.
