  • This paper presents the computer program to design the synchronous sequential logic circuit. The computer program uses the MASK method to get the circuit of optimal cost. The computer program takes as an input, the minimal reduced state transition table where each state has its internal code. As an output, the optimal design of synchronous sequential logic circuit is generated for each flipflop type of JK,T,D, and RS respectively. And these circuits for 4 flipflop types are evaluated and sorted in ascending order of their costs, so that the user can select the proper flipflop type and its circuit. Furthermore, the proposed computer program may be applied to state assignment with its facility of cost evaluation.

  • We developed three dimensional Monte carlo ion implantation simulator which simulate distributions of impurities under the ion implantation on the tilted multi-layered layer. Our simulation reveals three dimensional shadow effect and sidewall scattering effect due to the geometrical shapes. For the evaluation of the developed three dimensional Monte carlo ion implantation simulator, calculations with 100,000 ions have been performed for the island and hole structures with a thin oxide of 100$\AA$ and nitride of 2000$\AA$. The simulation results showed that the distribution of ion decreases near the conner of the hole structure covered with a nitride layer and increases near the conner for the island structure open to oxide. Moreover, three dimensional distributions of ions were obtained with varying incident energy, tilt and rotation angle, mask depth and three-dimensional structure geometry.

  • Peonjahwan composed of crude herb, and materials and tissue of animals is a considerably bitter and poorly water-soluble oriental medicine for the treatment of hepatitis. Peonja dry elixir and Eudragit-coated peonja dry elixir were prepared using spray-dryer to mask the bitterness and enhance the release of ingredients from peonjahwan. The bitterness of peonja dry elixir and Eudragit-coated peonja dry elixir reduced to 1/2 and 1/4 of that from peonja powder, respectively. Furthermore, the release rate of bound bilirubin from dry elixir was significantly higher than that from peonja powder.

  • For exposure systems, very accurate alignment between the mask and the substrate is indispensable. In this paper, an automatic alignment system using machine vision for exposure systems is described. Machine vision algorithms are described in detail including extraction of an alignment mark's center position and camera calibration. Methods for extracting parameters for alignment are also presented with some compensation techniques to reduce alignment time. Our alignment system was implemented with a vision system and motion control stages. The performance of the alignment system has been extensively tested with satisfactory results. The performance evaluation shows alignment accuracy of lum within total alignment time of about $2{\sim}3$ seconds including stage moving time.

  • The nonlinear vibration of the thin perforated plate is analyzed in consideration of the V-shaped tension distribution and the effect of wire impact damping. The reduced order FEM model of the tension plate is obtained from dynamic condensation for the mass and stiffness matrices. Tension wire is modeled using the lumped parameter method to effectively describe its contact interactions with the plate. The nonlinear contact-impact model is composed of spring and damper elements, of which parameters are determined from the Hertzian contact theory and the restitution coefficient, respectively. From the evaluation of the computational accuracy and computation time for the deduced impact stiffness and damping coefficient, we determined proper values for the simulation works, accounting for the computational accuracy as well as the computational efficiency. Finally we discussed the results of nonlinear nitration analysis for variations of their design parameters.

  • This paper describes the RF performance issues of UE RF Transceiver for W-CDMA system based on 3GPP specifications. the parameters of transmitter and receiver are derived from the viewpoint of RF performance. In order for UE to achieve high performance, the transceiver performance requirements such as ACIR, EVM, Peak Code Domain Error, spectrum emission mask, frequency error stability and TX power control dynamic range for transmitter and reference sensitivity level, blocking characteristics, noise figure, ACS, linearity, AGC dynamic range for receiver are considered. On the basis of the required parameters, the UE RF transceiver is designed and then implemented. The evaluation of RF performance is accomplished through practical test scenarios.

  • When the noise is mainly caused by a detector and is statistically independent of the incident radiation, the multiplexing inherent in the Hadamard transform (HT) spectrometer can provide an improved spectrum-estimate. A spectrum-estimate can be further improved when any nonidealities in the system are compensated. In this research, three spectrum-estimation methods for an HT spectrometer having a nonideal mask are discussed in terms of computational efficiency, statistical bias, the sources of error, and the mean-square error associated with a given estimate. In addition, the results obtained from computer simulations are used to verify the theoretical foundation of each method.

  • In this paper, actual drone noise samples are collected for speech processing in disaster environments to build noise-corrupted speech database, and speech enhancement performance is evaluated by applying spectrum subtraction and mask-based speech enhancement techniques. To improve the performance of VoiceFilter (VF), an existing deep neural network-based speech enhancement model, we apply the Self-Attention operation and use the estimated noise information as input to the Attention model. Compared to existing VF model techniques, the experimental results show 3.77%, 1.66% and 0.32% improvements for Source to Distortion Ratio (SDR), Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality (PESQ), and Short-Time Objective Intelligence (STOI), respectively. When trained with a 75% mix of speech data with drone sounds collected from the Internet, the relative performance drop rates for SDR, PESQ, and STOI are 3.18%, 2.79% and 0.96%, respectively, compared to using only actual drone noise. This confirms that data similar to real data can be collected and effectively used for model training for speech enhancement in environments where real data is difficult to obtain.

  • A 47-year-old woman was referred for surgical treatment of osteomyelitis of the mandible. She had already undergone three previous surgeries. Pre-anesthetic airway evaluation predicted a difficult airway, due to the thin, retro-positioned mandible, tongue, and atrophic changes in the lips and soft tissue. We inserted packing gauzes in the buccal mucosa for easier mask fitting and ventilation. During direct laryngoscopic intubation with a nasotracheal tube (NTT), fracture of a thin mandible can easily occur. Therefore, we used a fiberoptic bronchoscope to insert the NTT. After surgery, we performed a tongue-tie to protect against airway obstruction caused by the backward movement of the tongue during recovery. The patient recovered without any complications. We determined the status of the patient precisely and consequently performed thorough preparations for the surgery, allowing the patient to be anesthetized safely and recover after surgery. Careful assessment of the patient and airway prior to surgery is necessary.
