Background: The conventional cerium-doped Gd2Al2Ga3O12 (GAGG(Ce)) scintillator-based gamma-ray imager has a bulky detector, which can lead to incorrect positioning of the gammaray source if the shielding against background radiation is not appropriately designed. In addition, portability is important in complex environments such as inside nuclear power plants, yet existing gamma-ray imager based on a tungsten mask tends to be weighty and therefore difficult to handle. Motivated by the need to develop a system that is not sensitive to background radiation and is portable, we changed the material of the scintillator and the coded aperture. Materials and Methods: The existing GAGG(Ce) was replaced with Bi4Ge3O12 (BGO), a scintillator with high gamma-ray detection efficiency but low energy resolution, and replaced the tungsten (W) used in the existing coded aperture with lead (Pb). Each BGO scintillator is pixelated with 144 elements (12 × 12), and each pixel has an area of 4 mm × 4 mm and the scintillator thickness ranges from 5 to 20 mm (5, 10, and 20 mm). A coded aperture consisting of Pb with a thickness of 20 mm was applied to the BGO scintillators of all thicknesses. Results and Discussion: Spectroscopic characterization, imaging performance, and image quality evaluation revealed the 10 mm-thick BGO scintillators enabled the portable gamma-ray imager to deliver optimal performance. Although its performance is slightly inferior to that of existing GAGG(Ce)-based gamma-ray imager, the results confirmed that the manufacturing cost and the system's overall weight can be reduced. Conclusion: Despite the spectral characteristics, imaging system performance, and image quality is slightly lower than that of GAGG(Ce), the results show that BGO scintillators are preferable for gamma-ray imaging systems in terms of cost and ease of deployment, and the proposed design is well worth applying to systems intended for use in areas that do not require high precision.

As interest in digital video media and intelligent systems increases rapidly, technologies using video information are being combined and used in various fields such as security and artificial intelligence. Impulse noise generated during digital image processing degrades the image quality of the image and reduces the reliability of information, so it is necessary to remove it through a filter. There are SMF, AWMF, and MDBUTMF as well-known antecedent methods, but they all have limitations in achieving seamless filtering in environments with large loss of information on valid pixels due to problems with the algorithm itself. Therefore, this paper designs a median filter algorithm that applies weights reflecting the reliability of the information by searching for the nearest effective pixels present within the mask. For performance evaluation, this algorithm and the preceding algorithm were compared and analyzed using PSNR and enlarged images.

This study aims to evaluate the performance of the U-Net based learning model that may vary depending on the histogram equalization algorithm. The subject of the experiment were 17 radiology students of this college, and 1,727 data sets in which the region of interest was set in the thyroid after acquiring ultrasound image data were used. The training set consisted of 1,383 images, the validation set consisted of 172 and the test data set consisted of 172. The equalization algorithm was divided into Histogram Equalization(HE) and Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization(CLAHE), and according to the clip limit, it was divided into CLAHE8-1, CLAHE8-2. CLAHE8-3. Deep Learning was learned through size control, histogram equalization, Z-score normalization, and data augmentation. As a result of the experiment, the Attention U-Net showed the highest performance from CLAHE8-2 to 0.8355, and the U-Net and BSU-Net showed the highest performance from CLAHE8-3 to 0.8303 and 0.8277. In the case of mIoU, the Attention U-Net was 0.7175 in CLAHE8-2, the U-Net was 0.7098 and the BSU-Net was 0.7060 in CLAHE8-3. This study attempted to confirm the effects of U-Net, Attention U-Net, and BSU-Net models when histogram equalization is performed on ultrasound images. The increase in Clip Limit can be expected to increase the ROI match with the prediction mask by clarifying the boundaries, which affects the improvement of the contrast of the thyroid area in deep learning model learning, and consequently affects the performance improvement.
Background : The upper respiratory tract is the primary target organ of various airborne pollutants and is easily accessible part of the respiratory tract, and also is the predominant structure where chronic cough originates. The nasal peak inspiratory flow(PIFn), which is the peak inspiratory flow via nose with nasal mask and spirometry, could be a reliable parameter of nasal obstruction. The validity of PIFn has been evaluated in several studies by assessing the correlation between PIFn measurements and other parameters of nasal air flow. This study was designed to show the reproducibility of PIFn, the difference of PIFn between patients with chronic cough and normal subjects, and the usefulness of PIFn in the evaluation of nasal obstruction in patients with chronic cough. Methods : PIFn was measured by spirometry with nasal mask, twice a day for 3 consecutive days in 7 young normal subjects to evaluate validity of the test. In 32 patients with chronic cough and 25 age-matched normal subjects, PIFn and pulmonary function test($FEV_1$, $FEV_1%$ pred, FVC, and FVC% pred) were measured at first visiting. Results : Values of PIFn, $FEV_1$, and FVC were nearly constant in 7 young normal adults. Patients with chronic cough were 32 (14 males and 18 females) and the mean age was $41.4{\pm}15.9$ years. Normal subjects were 32(22 males and 10 females) and the mean age was $39.8{\pm}18.6$ years. There was no significant difference of age and pulmonary function test between patients with chronic cough and normal subjects(p<0.05). The PIFn values in patients with chronic cough was significantly lower than those of normal subjects($2.25{\pm}0.68\;L/sec$ vs. $2.75{\pm}1.00\;L/sec$ ; p=0.02). The postnasal drip syndrome(PNDS) comprised the majority of patients with chronic cough(27). The PIFn in patients with PNDS was significantly lower than that of normal subjects (mean$\pm$SD ; $2.18{\pm}0.66$ vs. $2.75{\pm}1.00\;L/sec$, p=0.006). Conclusion : There was a significant difference of PIFn between patients with chronic cough and normal subjects. Among the patients with chronic cough, patients with PNDS showed the most significant difference with normal subjects in PIFn. The PIFn could be a useful parameter of nasal obstruction in patients with chronic cough, especially in patients with PNDS.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of supportive devices which are for minimizing the patient's movement during lower extremity angiography and to verify image quality of phantom by analyzing of Mask image, DSA image and Roadmap image into SNR and CNR. As a result of comparing SNR with CNR of mask image obtained by DSA technique using the phantom alone and phantom placed on the supportive devices, there was no significant difference between about 0~0.06 for SNR and about 0~0.003 for CNR. The study showed about 0.11~0.35 for SNR and 0.016~0.031 for CNR of DSA imaging by DSA technique about only water phantom of the blood vessel model and the water phantom placed on the device. Analyzing SNR and CNR of Roadmap technique about water phantom on the auxiliary device (hardboard paper, pomax, polycarbonate, acrylic) and water phantom alone, there was no significant difference between 0.02~0.05 for SNR and 0.002~0.004 for CNR. In conclusion, there was no significant difference on image quality by using supportive devices made by hardboard paper, pomax, polycarbonate or acryl regardless of whether using supportive devices or not. Supportive devices to minimize of the patient's movement may reduce the total amount of contrast, exam-time, radiation exposure and eliminate risk factors during angiogram. Supportive devices made by hardboard paper can be applied easily during angiogram due to advantages of reasonable price and simple processing. It is considered that will be useful to consider cost efficiency and types of materials and their properties in accordance with purpose and method of the study when the operator makes and uses supportive devices.
Skeletal Class III malocclusion is one of the most difficult type to treat and stabilize. For a child with developing skeletal Class III malocclusion, the treatment objective would be to stimulate maxillary growth, particulary one who has markedly deficient maxilla, and to restrain excessive mandibular growth. In order to stimulate the maxillary growth, maxillary protraction appliance is the one of the effective orthopedic appliances in skeletal Class III. The purposes of this study were as follows ; evaluation of the skeletal and dental changes of the maxillary protraction in children with Class III Maxillary deficiency , comparison of the clinical effects between the group with RPE and labiolingual intraoral appliances , comparison of the clinical effects and stability related to the ages of the patients : stability of the maxillary protraction about 1 year after retention. The subjects consisted of 60 children between the ages of 8 and 13.4 who were diagnosed as Class III with maxillary deficiency and were treated with Face Mask (Delaire Type) from the Dept. of Orthodontics Yong Dong Severance Hospital, Yonsei University. 48 children wore the RPE and 12 children wore Labiolingual Appliance. Lateral Cephalograms were taken for each patient at before and after correction of anterior cross-bite in 60 children, and after an observation period of 10 to 14 months in 19 children. X and Y coordinate of 10 landmarks were analyzed using a horizontal line through sella and rotated $6^{\circ}$ down anteriorly as the horizontal reference axis, and a perpendicular verticual line through sella as the vertical reference axis. Each of the 31 measurents (10 verticals, 10 horizontals, 2 angles and 9 others) was statistically analyzed using SPSS/PC statistics. The results are as follows; 1. After maxillary protraction the maxilla and maxillary teeth moved downward and forward, while the mandible and mandibular incisor rotated downward and backward. 2. Maxillary protraction with rapid palatal expansion appliance was more effective than with labiolingual appliance. 3. More downward movement of the posterior palatal plane obserbed with maxillary protraction doing the midpalatal suture opening than with protraction after finishing the palatal expansion 4. The clinical effects of protraction and changes of the retention periods were not statistically significant among the age groups. 5. During the retention period, maxilla and maxillary teeth, and mandible and mandibular teeth moved downward and forward, however the mandibular changes were larger than the maxillary changes.
Mideoduck drips were mixed with amino acids (Met, Tau, Gly, Ala, Thr, Cys), thiamine and sugars (Glucose, Ribose) for flavor modification and evaluation using the Maillard reaction. To mask the seafood flavor, onions, spring onions, garlic, ginger, citric orange and green tea were mixed with Mideoduck drips at $160^{\circ}C$ for 2.5 hr in a stainless still reaction bomb. The glucose/thiamine model reaction system was estimated to be lower than the ribose/thiamine model system, and an extreme case is the ribose/Met model system. Mixed system of glucose, ribose and taurine containing sulfur compounds showed fair results. Among the Mideoduck drips mixed with sugars and amino groups, only thiamine model systems were estimated to be normal. The flavor composition of Mideoduck drips/sugars model system, and long chain fatty acids were composed of 31.32~62.71% total flavor content. The 1,2-benzenedicarboxylic acid dibutylester contents made up more than 20% of the model system in groups A, B and C. From the model system in this study, drip/glucose, drip/ribose, drip/glucose/citric orange, and drip/glucose/glycine/cystine groups showed most intense good flavor.
This paper presents an approach to detect changes caused by urban development over a large area using KOMPSAT optical images. In order to minimize the radiometric dissimilarities between the images acquired at different times, we apply the grid-based rough radiometric correction as a preprocessing to detect changes in a large area. To improve the accuracy of the change detection results for urban development, we mask-out non-interest areas such as water and forest regions by the use of land-cover map provided by the Ministry of Environment. The Change Vector Analysis(CVA) technique is applied to detect changes caused by urban development. To confirm the effectiveness of the proposed approach, a total of three study sites from Sejong City is constructed by combining KOMPSAT-2 images acquired on May 2007 and May 2016 and a KOMPSAT-3 image acquired on March 2014. As a result of the change detection accuracy evaluation for the study site generated from the KOMPSAT-2 image acquired on May 2007 and the KOMPSAT-3 image acquired on March 2014, the overall accuracy of change detection was about 91.00%. It is demonstrated that the proposed method is able to effectively detect urban development changes in a large area.

Ghana is the country that produces world's biggest production of Cacao. Cacao is the main ingredient of chocolate, which has been widely used in a variety of food as its anti-oxidantal effect is well known to public. Moreover, Ghana-produced Cacao is known to have a bigger amount of polyphenol compared to the ones produced elsewhere, and as they are not processed with alkali Ghana-produced Cacoa is slightly acidic as it is. This project aimed at analysing this natural Ghana Cacao's polyphenol composition, developed cosmetic mask using it and don skin irritation tests in order to study skin improvement effect. As a result, it was found that Ghana-produced Cacao contains approximately 3.6% of tannin, showing 5.6 pH. From the result of the first skin irritation test, the result of experiment of the cometic masks which contain 15% of Ghana cacao powder showed that the irritation was not shown. After 120 minutes, in the experiment of skin improvement effect, it was proved to have skin improvement effect, appearing 20% increase in skin moisture, -17% decrease in skin moisture evaporation, convergence of 5.3pH, 24% increase in skin elasticity.

The concentration of nitrous oxide in dental environment has increased especially in pediatric department. In pediatric department frequently met the behavior disordered patients who need the deep sedation. As the deeply sedated patients could not respond well to verbal command, the amount of mouth breathing would be increased especially with mouth prop which backward transposition of mandible. Inhalation of low concentration of nitrous oxide for a long duration has caused various side effects such as spontaneous abortion and inhibition of methionine synthetase activity which is harmful to DNA synthesis. For evaluation of factors of mouth breathing during deep sedation. The author measured the concentration of nitrous oxide in breathing zone by the change of the scavenging methods. One is drain the gas through the tail part of reservoir bag of Jackson Ree's system naturally. Another is scavenge from tail portion of reservoir bag with negative pressure. Last one is scavenge from nasal mask with negative pressure. The nitrous oxide concentration in breathing zone was the lowest in nasal part drainage but high above the recommended concentration of NIOSH. The order of nitrous concentration in breathing zone was: natural drainage, tail part with negative pressure, nasal part with negative pressure. This would reflect the order of resistance of nasal airway and showed the amount of mouth breathing. From the above experiment, the resistance of nasal airway by the increment of gas flow in corrugating tube and reservoir bag would be one of the causative factors of mouth breathing in deeply sedated patients.
