In this study, I analyzed single people time use and leisure behavior. I have compared patterns of time use of the single people who completed a survey for this study with the data from Time Use Survey(Korea National Statistics office, 1999). The survey participants included 160 single people who were thirty- to forty-years-old and who were living alone. The data from the Time Use Survey by NSO contained 2,004 married people cases and 30,155 unmarried individuals cases. The major findings are as follows: First, the single people who participated in this study were not especially anti-marriage; they simply have not been married yet and were living in a one-person household. Second, single people spent more time at work and less time for leisure and socializing than two comparative groups. Third, single people spent more time for household labor than other groups, and the only exception was the married female group. There was no gender difference in the time spent at household work Finally, single people tended to spend their leisure time with passive activities such as reading a newspaper or a magazine, watching television, and listening to the radio.

In this work, we investigated the perceptions of marriage among married people through in-depth interviews with twenty-two married men and women. The results of our analysis on the in-depth interviews are as follows. 1. Married men and women are well aware of the fact that. in a marriage life, one must sacrifice something in order to get anything. That is, even though they have yearning for their lost days of single life and they miss those days, on the other hand, they think that, through marriage, they feel more stable with a sense of belonging to the family. and they are no longer feeling lonely. 2. Married people consider that marriage is something you really have to experience yourself before one knows what it is like to be married. That is, they consider that, while, being single is just like tasting only a little bit of the flavor of life, marriage is like tasting the true meaning of life. The true meanings of life that married people are trying to find are "the strength they get from their family and children", "the journey of finding one's true self through overcoming hardships of life", "the joy and comfort of living together as a family", and finally "the broader life experience and higher quality of life".
The purpose of this study is to determine the inheritance consciousness among married people of the middle aged and the elderly. The findings of this study are following : First, most of the middle aged and the elderly agreed to the necessity of inheritance because it may help to improve childrens household-finances and be a means to promote childrens social position. Second, most of them want to succeed before they pass away and do in accordance with their will. Third, the consciousness of the middle aged and the elderly married people about the son-oriented inheritance and the lineal family-oriented inheritance is medial, and they dont want the equal-divided and the optional inheritance.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the desirable life emotion and life interchange between lod parents and married children. The focus was particulary laid on the investigation of the life emotion and life interchange between the aged living with their married sons and those living with their married daughters. The major findings of this study can be summarized as follows: 1. More old parents live with their married sons than with their married daughters. Also was found that they live with their eldest married sons or daughters and that they keep a normal relation with their married sons, and an emotional relation with their married daughters. This shows that more old people will live with their married daughters than with their married sons in the future. 2. The facts which affect the realtion between old parents2 2and their marreid children are age, sex, religion, marital status, educational background, health condition. These facts prove that they may improve the life interchange with their married children through such deliberate effects as the life-long marriage life with their spouse, the maintenance of health, and the religious life. 3. The affection relation between old parents and the married children was found to be high and the conflict between them was found to be low. Those who live with their married daughters especially showed a higher rate of love relation, and a lower rate of conflict than those who live with their married sons. The former were of more service interchange to their married children than the latter. Furthermore, the aged people were more satisfied with emotional and kindly daughters than with normal sons. 4. Affection was found to be the most importnat variable in promoting the emotional life interchange, and dependency was found to be a negative variable. Therefore, both the aged and the marreid children should try to show high affection to each other and try not to impose and dependency on the other.
As divorce and singlehood have been on the rise over the last decades, marital statuses are more diverse than the past for middle-aged men and women in South Korea. While marital status is crucial for health behaviors and statuses, but few studies examine the associations between health differentials and marital status for the middle-aged in South Korea. Using the 2010 Social Survey collected by the Statistics Korea, this study analyzes how health behaviors and statuses vary by the marital status. In particular, this paper examines whether marital statuses and gender interact to influence health behaviors and statuses. I find that married middle-aged people are healthier than divorced, single, and widowed middle-aged people. But this the negative influence of the non-married status are much greater for men than women. Some female non-married groups do not differ from married middle-aged people in some indicators of health behaviors. Single female middle-aged people are better in general satisfaction levels than married middle-aged people.
One of the major health problems of working women is job stress according to many studies. However, existing job stress questionnaires are suitable for men and men's job environments only, and do not reflect emotional labor for sales people. The aim of this research is to find women's job stress factors. The subjects of this investigation are married working women in sales since they experience emotional labor in addition to physical and psychological labor and the work-family conflict is very important job stressor for them. The results are like the following. 1. 3 main categories are job factor, aggravate factor, and compensate factor. 2. Job factor has 5 sub-categories including 'increasing of selling', 'emotional labor' and 'physical burden'. 3. Aggrabate factor has 6 sub-categories including 'work/family conflict', 'relationship with higher office' and 'relationship with a fellow worker' 4. Compensate factor has 6 sub-categories including 'opportunity of employment', 'discrimination', and 'prestige' Consequently this study newly found some major job stressors for married working women in sales department.
