Market orientation emphasizes the capability of a firm to learn customers, competitors, and inter-functional coordination and to use this market intelligence of creating superior value in the marketplace. It has been proved that market orientation contributes to organizational performance. But the question is what the antecedents and consequent to superior market orientation are. The objective of this study is to assess the relationship between internal marketing and market orientation. In this study, Internal marketing consists of empowerment, internal communication, reward system, management supports, and education and training. The effects of internal marketing on market orientation were analysed by Structural equation model. Market orientation was positive affected by internal marketing, directly and indirectly. Specially, the management supports of internal marketing' constructs had relatively important effect on market orientation.
This study is to explore the ways to increase the export performance of start-up companies, as opportunities are rising along with more companies entering the global market. Thus the study analyzed the factors affecting export performance of the start-up company by mainly looking at the international marketing capabilities of enterprises type of marketing strategy and internal environmental capabilities. The following were derived as factors for marketing 4P strategy: innovation of product, flexibility of export price, differentiation of distribution channels, diversity of promotional activities, and positive-ness of promotion. For internal capabilities of enterprises, innovation of CEO, initiative of CEO, risk susceptibility of CEO, information power of export market, and information power of competitor were derived as factors. Two types of performances were considered for export performance, financial and non-financial. Among innovation of product and risk susceptibility of CEO the non-financial performance of export performance, and only differentiation of distribution channels of marketing 4p strategy the financial performance. It showed that since performance was different depending on the entrepreneurship of the CEO, only innovative products differentiated from small and medium enterprises. risk susceptibility of CEO increased export outlook by corporate acknowledgment and image, creation of potential customers, and financial performance affected only differentiation in distribution channel rather than entrepreneurial spirit, information power, or organizational flexibility because of short business career and insufficient period enough to gain trust. Therefore, start-up companies need to improve their non-financial export performance by increasing innovation of product and risk susceptibility of the CEO. The companies need to widen the differentiation of distribution channels in the financial export performance.
This research aims to analyze business strategies of professional sports marketing companies which have properties of sports organizations in Korea, with a view to investigating into the nature of the business of the agencies and the characteristics of business models and to considering what kinds of suggestions such characteristics have for the development of professional sports marketing agencies in Korea. Professional sports marketing agencies do not simply acquire their property rights or act as a proxy in getting the property rights but also multiply opportunities for their business while acting as a proxy and developing extension commodities so as to maximize their profit, which is a core capability of sport businesses. Sports marketing businesses in Korea are characterized by dual structure: advertisement companies specializing in BTL (Below The Line)-centered promotion business, and sports marketing agencies specializing in the business focused on sports contents. This structure serves as an obstruction for Korean sports marketing agencies to build up their capabilities to maximize opportunities and extension.
This study suggests new perspective of interorganizational communication. The importance of communication quality is increasing because it affects performance of marketing channels. In perspective of information exchange, communication quality consists of accuracy, availability, timing, and credibility. In research model, the antecedents of communication quality adopt willingness of information sharing and capability of efficient communication. To examine effects of communication quality on channel performance, research model includes relation of communication quality and conflicts. For empirical test, relation of PC makers and their dealers is decided as a focal dyad. Findings indicate that overall hypotheses are supported except the relation of willingness of information sharing and communication quality.

Since the financial crisis in 1997, the Korean economy has a steady increase of people who tend to establish their own business by 2008. Business foundations can be divided into independent businesses and franchise businesses. This study focuses on what type of business owners among franchise enterprisers can achieve success. This is intended to reduce trial and error by drawing upon success factors in the stages of establishment, operation, and achievement based on a total sample of 350 individual business sites. The result shows that the success factors in the stage of establishment include (1) Preparation such as foundation education (2) Marketing capability (3) Appropriateness of Business Item (4) Other founder's entry barrier, conglomerate's entry regulation and (5) Head Office Support including service education, market survey education, marketing support. On the other hand, the success factors in the stage of operation include the supervisor capability, Marketing capability, Head Office Support, Customer Management Capability and Employee Satisfaction. Additionally after choosing the major factors according to each stage, multiple regression analysis was processed and interpreted. Finally, we believe that the franchise or independent business foundations can make a profit as well as increase continuous sales and customer satisfaction only with thorough and careful preparation in all stages of foundation and operation. This study is expected to contribute to those who prepare new business in franchise domain to minimize failures with deep consideration of the success factors in the franchise.
This study researched relationship between R&D capability(TC), Network capability(NC), International marketing activity(IMA) and effect to performance of Korean globalizing INNOBIZs. In former research, they found out that TC, NC, IMA effect to performance directly. But they didn't focus on the relationship between the variables and Korean INNOBIZs. Recently, Global environment of competition is getting more and more complicated. So even the companies develop the excellent product, the companies can not get superior performance than competitor as long as the company combine with IMA or NC. In this study, empirical analysis performed using covariance structural analysis for Korean INNOBIZs. As we know in former research, TC and IMA have a positive effect on performance directly. But NC does not have a direct effect on performance. Also we found out TC and NC intermediated by MC have positive effect on performance. This result is theoretically and practically suggestive that using the company developed NC in International IMA effect on Performance.
Knowledge1 is considered to be a key element of understanding how organizations gain and sustain competitive advantages. But very few firms are capable of creating the requisite knowledge and thus, firms should acquire and exploit new knowledge through knowledge transfer processes. The empirical part of this study involves examining relationships among adaptability of knowledge and knowledge transfer and marketing performance and testing the moderating roles of absorptive capacity, socialization and local marketing knowledge. This study is organized as follows: (1) Previous literature on knowledge, knowledge transfer and absorptive capacity is summarized, followed by the development of hypotheses derived from the knowledge-based view and absorptive capacity. (2) The hypotheses are tested with data collected from MNCs' subsidiaries performing marketing activities in Korea.Thestudyisclosedwithfindings,implications,andconclusions. Following six research hypotheses are drawn from literature review in related areas: H1: Adaptability of knowledge transferred from the MNCs' headquarters and other subsidiaries is positively associated with knowledge inflows into the receiving subsidiary. H2: The level of marketing knowledge transferred from the MNCs' headquarters and other subsidiaries is positively associated with marketing performance of the receiving subsidiary. H3: Increases in potential absorptive capacity will enhance the relationship between adaptability of knowledge and the level of marketing knowledge transfer. H4: Increases in realized absorptive capacity will enhance the relationship between the level of knowledge transfer and marketing performance of the receiving subsidiary. H5: Increases in socialization activity among the headquarters and subsidiaries will enhance the relationship between adaptability of knowledge and the level of marketing knowledge transfer. H6: Increases in the level of locally developed marketing knowledge will enhance the relationship between the level of knowledge transfer and marketing performance of the receiving subsidiary. The research framework that illustrates the proposed hypotheses is presented in figure 1. The unit of analysis for this study is knowledge transfer from the MNCs' headquarters and other subsidiaries to their subsidiaries operating in South Korea. The population for this study consists of subsidiaries established either as joint ventures or as wholly-owned subsidiaries. A group of 603 foreign firms were drawn from diverse industry organizations and business societies. After personal contact, telephone, fax, and e-mail to request that the respondents complete the questionnaire, 282 valid questionnaires from 133 initial sample companies were collected. The results of the empirical analyses significantly support all of the proposed hypotheses except hypothesis 3. Adaptability of external knowledge promotes knowledge transfer and the relationship is moderated by a firm's potential knowledge absorptive capacity. On the other hand, knowledge transfer improves a firm's marketing performance and a firm's realized knowledge absorptive capacity and local marketing knowledge moderate the relationship. The theoretical and practical implications of the findings in this study are as follows: (1) firms must take seeking, transferring, sharing and exploiting of external knowledge into serious consideration, while simultaneously creating knowledge to support the necessary business operations, remain competitive, and achieve superior performance. (2) Firms should continuously seek to develop their knowledge absorptive capacity (both potential and realized capacity) to absorb, learn and utilize valuable external knowledge. (3) Firms should emphasize not only absorptive capacity, but also development of local knowledge. Firms with strong absorptive capability and local knowledge can learn and transfer more external knowledge, which can be translated into greater levels of competence and performance.
Purpose: Recently, the managing customer complaints properly has emerged as key source of competitive advantage in the large distribution industry. Effective customer complaint management helps firms minimize service failures and incense the capability to respond to customer's needs. Despite this importance, the in-depth prior study of a firm's service failures is very limited. Therefore, the actual service failure cases of large discount stores in Korea were analyzed in this study, and the types of service failures that occur at the service interface were identified. Method: Specifically, a total of 48,307 cases of customer complaints that have occurred in the past three years were collected from 1 January 2016 to 31 December 2018. Using 7 dimensions of service marketing mix. we have classified and analyzed systematically the service failure cases collected. Results: Among the cases of service failures, 34,921 (72.3%) cases were involved with the product factor, followed by 6,152 (12.7%) cases with person factor and 5,392 (11.2%) cases with process factor. Conclusion: By linking the main causes of service failure with the service marketing mix variables, this research presented a more systematic analytic model and verified by applying it to large domestic distribution company. Understanding the main factors affecting customer complaints n the large distribution industry can provide managers useful information and insight who want to achieve an effective customer complaint management.
Purpose: Big Data analytics (BDA) has been recognized to improve firm performance because it can efficiently manage and process large-scale, wide variety, and complex data structures. This study examines the determinants of Big Data analytics adoption toward marketing and financial performance of global logistic companies in Thailand. The research framework is adopted from the technology-organization-environment (TOE) model, including technological factors (relative advantages), organizational factors (technological infrastructure and absorptive capability), environmental factors (industry competition and government support), Big Data analytics adoption, marketing performance, and financial performance. Research design, data, and methodology: A quantitative method is applied by distributing the survey to 450 employees at the manager's level and above. The sampling methods include judgmental, stratified random, and convenience sampling. The data were analyzed by Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Structural Equation Model (SEM). Results: The results showed that all factors significantly influence Big Data analytics adoption, except technological infrastructure. In addition, Big Data analytics adoption significantly influences marketing and financial performance. Conversely, marketing performance has no significant influence on financial performance. Conclusions: The findings of this study can contribute to the strategic improvement of firm performance through Big Data analytics adoption in the logistics, distribution, and supply chain industries.
The main purpose of this study is to define antecedents that influence e-SCM synchronization and to investigate how it affects e-SCM performance. We, therefore, investigate (1) the impact of firms' internal IT planning capabilities on e-SCM synchronization and on SCM process management capability, (2) the impact of firms' internal IT infrastructure on e-SCM synchronization and on SCM process management capability, (3) the impact of firms' internal SCM process management capabilities on e-SCM synchronization, and finally (4) the impact of e-SCM synchronization on SCM performance. A survey has been administrated to the firms' SCM and marketing staffs and 171 returns analyzed. The results show that (1) IT plan has not direct impacts on e-SCM synchronization, but has direct impacts on organizational support, purchasing, and operations processes except logistics process. IT plan, however, has indirect impacts on e-SCM synchronization through purchasing and operations of SCM process management capability. (2) IT infrastructure has both direct and indirect effects on e-SCM synchronization, and also has direct impacts on organizational support, purchasing, and operations processes except logistics process. (3) SCM process management capabilities have direct impacts on e-SCM synchronization. Among these SCM core processes purchasing positively influences operations, which in turn positively influences logistics process management capability. (4) e-SCM synchronization has positive impacts on SCM performance indicator (SCOR), such as delivery reliability, responsiveness & flexibility, and cost. These results indicate that e-SCM synchronization can be critical to achieve better internal performance like cost and external performance like delivery reliability, responsiveness & flexibility of firms' SCM. In sum, this study demonstrates that the intervening role of e-SCM synchronization between e-SCM performance and IT management capability and between e-SCM performance and SCM core process management capability has been significant in achieving better e-SCM performance. Therefore, it can be suggested that e-SCM performance should be accomplished in consequence of the acceleration of e-SCM synchronization through the enhancement of preceding factors for the e-SCM synchronization.
