Mariner-Like Elements (MLEs)를 이용한 누에의 분자적 계통 분석 (Molecular Phylogenetics of Silkworm (Bombyx mori) Based on Mariner-Like Elements (MLEs))

  • 본 연구는 누에(Bombyx mori)에서 cloning한 BomMAR의 염기서열을 기초로 하여 곤충 MLE(mariner-like ele-ment)의 계통분석을 통한 누에의 분자적 계통 관계를 이해하고자 수행하였다. 전체 10 종의 MLE중에서 15%의 낮은 상동성을 보이는 인간 MLE(Hsmarl)을 제외한 9종의 MLE의 DNA 염기서열을 이용한 UPGMA 분석 결과, BmoMAR을 포함한 10종의 MLE가 세 가지의 subfamily 로 grouping되는 것을 알 수 있었으며, 누에는 genetic distance 0.4332에서 같은 lepidoptera(나비목) 의 H. cecropia, almond moth, webworm 및 microcaddisfly와 함께 grouping 되었다. 따라서 이와 같은 결과는 MLE가 곤충의 계통분석에 유용한 molecular tool이 될 수 있음을 보여준다.

  • Human factors have been considered the primary reason of marine accidents. Especially, the collision between vessels is mostly mused by human behavior. However, there have not been many researches to clarify the reason of marine accidents mused by human factors quantitatively. In order to understand human factors and to enhance safe navigation systematically, using a full mission ship-handling simulator, we've investigated the characteristics of avoiding behavior taken by mariners. Further in order to apply the characteristics more widely and effectively, it's necessary to formulate the standard behavior for ship-handling in the condition of collision avoidance. Is this study, therefore, we intended to propose the concept to model the mariner's standard behavior on the handling of collision avoidance as the first step. As a result, we confirmed the contents of information processing in ship-handling that mariner's generally taking to avoid collision.

  • We've investigated the characteristics on mariner's behavior in the collision situation through a full-mission ship handling simulator and considered that it's necessary to model the standard avoiding behavior of mariners in order to apply the obtained results more widely and effectively. Thus we described the contents of standard avoiding behavior taken by mariners in the collision situation and established the concept of the standard model based on human factors for collision avoidance in a previous study. As a following study, this paper is to propose the method of modeling on mariners' standard behavior for collision avoidance by analyzing the contents of mariner's information processing and the related factors using regression analysis. As a result, we confirmed the influence of relating factors to avoiding behavior in mariner's deciding decisions and proposed the modeling method of mariners' standard behavior for collision avoidance with a example of recognition model.

  • According to careful study on the COLREGS, 1972, we can easily find out a main point that is to eliminate risk of collision at sea through exercising due regard to all danger of navigation and collision and to any special circumstances including the limitation of the vessels involved, or precaution which may be required by the ordinary practice of seamen. This paper, therefore, aims to clarify legal concept concerning the risk of collision so as to easier assimilate and understand by all mariner before being presented with a situation of danger in realty. After such a forethought and understanding the mariner will be in a position timely to implement the due regard or precaution to avoid collision by himself. For the purpose of good guidance, comprehensive legal practices of collision avoidance are adequately summarized by foreign and domestic cases.

물때의 실용화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Use of the Lunar Principle of MULDAE as a Predictor of Tidal Phenomenon)

  • Tidal phenomenon can be utilized by the wise and cautious mariner to safely perform his duties as pilot and navigator. It can be either a help or hindrance to the mariner. The principle of MULDAE which expresses the determination of the state of the tide based upon knowledge of the lunar date and it has been used in Korea since ancient times. The folk method of calculation was essentially based on an unsystematic division of the lunar month, traditionally using the numbers 7 or 8. As the lunar cycle is complete in 15 days the tidal cycle should also correspondence closely to the lunar date. This paper represents the first scientific attempt to systematically investigate this unique traditional method of tidal calculation and contains a comparison of the MULDAE and ordinary (solar based) tide calculation methods. MULDAE was compared with the standard tide table for standard and island ports in Korea from 1982 to 1985. This study concluded that MULDAE was indeed an accurate adn reliable predictor of tidal activity. Furthermore, the number 6 was found to be the correct divisor upon which to base MULDAE calculations Also a formula expressing MULDAE as a function was discovered. This research show that MULDAE can be applied nationwide and is a reliable and easy way to predict tides based upon mean figures for certain ports and island A calender showing MULDAE is presented here for the first time. A clear relationship between the MULDAE method of calculating tides and the use of ordinary tide tables is proven.

ARPA/레이더 시뮬레이션 교육 모듈의 표준화 연구 (A Study on the Standardization of Education Modules for ARPA/Radar Simulation)

  • 예비 항해사는 타선과의 충돌 가능성을 사전에 파악하여 회피할 수 있는 능력을 ARPA/레이더 시뮬레이션 교육을 통해 갖추어야 한다. 이러한 시뮬레이션 교육은 국내외 지침(해양수산부 고시, STCW 협약 등)에 교육 내용과 기간만이 명시되어 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 또한 시뮬레이션 교육 훈련 모듈의 부재로 각 해기 교육 기관에서는 자체적으로 모듈을 구성하여 관련 증서를 발행하고 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 이로 인하여 ARPA/레이더 시뮬레이션을 통한 동일한 해기 능력 함양이 어려운 것이 현실이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 우리나라 해기 교육 기관별 동일한 능력 함양을 위하여 ARPA/레이더 시뮬레이션 교육 모듈을 표준화하고, 표준화된 모듈을 통한 교육 향상도에 대하여 검증하고자 한다. 이를 위해서 우리나라 해기 교육 기관의 시뮬레이션 교육 형태를 조사하고, 교통 조사를 기반으로 한 실해역의 교통 흐름을 반영한 시나리오 제시, 교육 훈련 및 평가를 효율적으로 하기 위한 해기사 핵심 역량 기반 모듈을 제시하였다. 그리고 2년간에 데이터를 이용하여 표준화된 모듈을 통한 교육 훈련의 향상 정도를 파악하였다. 이러한 표준화된 ARPA/레이더 시뮬레이션 모듈을 통해 각 교육 기관에서는 효율적이고 체계적인 해기 교육이 가능하고 해기능력 향상을 통한 선박 통항 안전에 기여할 수 있는 기반을 마련할 수 있다.
