Design of miniaturized active 90$^{\circ}$ phase divider on RFIC/MMIC for application to maritime wireless communication components (해상 무선통신소자의 응용을 위한 RFIC/MMIC용 소형화된 능동형 90$^{\circ}$ 위상 분배기의 설계)

  • In this paper, we propose an active 90$^{\circ}$ phase divider for application to MMIC. Because of their very large size, conventional passive 90$^{\circ}$ dividers can't be integrated on MMIC. Therefore, highly miniaturized 90$^{\circ}$ dividers are required for a development of highly integrated MMIC. For this reason, active 90$^{\circ}$ divider is indispensable because active phase divider is much smaller than conventional passive dividers, and it can be integrated on MMIC. In this work, we developed active 90$^{\circ}$ divider with emitter inductor, and it was employed for the operation of the balanced mixer in order to verify the performance of the active 90$^{\circ}$ divider. According to the results, it was found that the active 90$^{\circ}$ divider exhibited good RF performances comparable to conventional passive power dividers.

  • Using the novel microstripline with periodically perforated ground metal, a miniaturized 1/4 ${\lambda}$ transformer was fabricated. The line width of the 1/4 ${\lambda}$ transformer was 20${\mu}m$ and the size of it was 0.0085$mm^2$, which is 1.2% of conventional one. The 1/4 ${\lambda}$ transformer exhibited good RF performances from 10 to 25GHz.

  • USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network)을 이용한 실내 위치 인식 기술은 주요한 연구 분야이며 산업에 미치는 영향이 매우 크다. 좁은 복도 환경에서는 삼변측위를 이용하지 않고 이변측위만 이용하더라도 Mobile Node의 위치 측정이 가능하다. 하지만 이변측위를 이용할 경우 Reference Node 사이의 간격이 멀어 질수록 Mobile Node의 위치 정보 수신율이 떨어져 Mobile Node의 위치를 표시할 수 없게 된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 관성센서 및 초음파 센서를 이용하여 위치 정보의 수신이 이루어지지 않는 상황에서도 Mobile Node의 위치를 표시할 수 있게 구성하고 실험을 통하여 검증하였다.

  • As a means of helping ships navigate safely, navigational aids in operation in the maritime envirionment require periodic management, and due to the nature of the environment, it is difficult to visually check the exact state. As a result, the smart navigation aid system, which improves route safety and operational efficiency, utillizes expertise including sensors, communications, and information technology, unlike general route markings. The communication environment of the smart navigation aid system, which aims to ensure the safety of the navigators operating the ship and the safety of the ship, uses a wireless communication network in accordance with the marine environment. The ship collects the information necessary for the maritime environment on the land and operates. In this process, there is a need to consider the wireless communication security guideline. Basically, based on IHO S-100 a standard for facilitating data exchange and SECOM, which provides an interface for safe communication. This paper research a security system for safe communication in a maritime environment. The security system for the basic interface based on the document was presented, and there were some vulnerabillties to data exchange due to the wireless communication characteristics of the maritime environment, and the user authetication part was added considering the vulnerability that unauthorized users can access the service.

  • Recently, it has demanded to the wireless monitoring system in stand-alone PV power generation system. We propose the multiplex monitoring method using RF unit of low-price. RF unit consists of RF modem and communication controller. It is also able to use by repeater to communicate long distance. In this paper. two algorithms were programmed by CCS-C and C++ for multiplex monitoring method, The algorithm of choosing unit was used 'select and poll method' and the course assignment algorithm was embodied with 'Bellman-Ford algorithm'. The good result was achieved in the actual test without communication-data lose. The proposed method will be applied such as monitoring system of PV light on the wayside, monitoring system of unmanned lighthouse, monitoring system of refrigeration container on vessel and so on. It can be applied in the field that various ocean energy system.

  • D-TRS is a method of wireless communication. This method will be able to use several frequency for multiple user used chanel together. TETRA of D-TRS technology is not rented network. Using TETRA network has the strong point which cost better than CDMA network of rental network. Master server of SCADA(Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) system is realtime supervise control and a data acquire the control system or the RTU(Remote Terminal Unit). The present paper is developed and proposal the gateway platform for electronic power backbone network based on D-TRS. This gateway platform is converted DNP3.0 messages with TETRA PDU and converted TETRA PDU with DNP3.0 messages. Master server and FRTU will be able to send and receive DNP3.0 message via TETRA network using this gateway platform.

  • The Ministry of Maritime Affairs & Fisheries have plaining the advancing fishery information integrated system for the fishing present condition, marine resource administration and applicability considering. The fishery information communication system is build up to the raw date & process-network-content. The communication system must be small size, low cost and adapted SSB transceiver, that is using fishery shipping. In this paper We present digital data communication network to exchange information for fishery and safety between fishing ship and coast station in cheeper communication free using SSB(Single Side Band) in HF(High Frequency) band.

  • Recently, SpaceX, private enterprise dealing in space development company, has reported a plan for launching of low earth orbit satellites via Starlink Business, and launched 900 satellites until now. Concretely, it plans tp operate Ku/Ka band satellite, and launch 7,518 of V band satellites for broadband communication. Therefore, wireless communication service for ship will be provided, and various solutions will be offered through the low earth orbit satellites. In this work, we investigated RF characteristics of coplanar waveguide employing periodic 3D coupling structures, and examined its potential for a development of marine radio communication FISoC (fully-integrated system on chip) semiconductor device.

Dual band antenna design for LTE / WLAN for wireless mobile communication high-speed network (무선 이동통신 고속 통신망을 위한 LTE/WLAN용 이중대역 안테나 설계)

  • In this paper, we designed a microstrip antenna for LTE / WLAN for wireless mobile communication high - speed communication network. The substrate of the proposed antenna is FR-4 (er = 4.3), the size is $20[mm]{\times}40[mm]$ and can be used in the frequency band of 2.77 [GHz] and 5 [GHz] Respectively. The simulation was performed using CST Microwave Studio 2014. The simulation result shows that the gain is 2.034 [dBi] at 2.77 [GHz] and 4.95 [dBi] at 5 [GHz]. The S-parameter was also found to be less than -10 [dB] (WSWR 2: 1) in the desired frequency band. The frequency bands of LTE and WLAN are widely used around the world, and the usage of the frequency is also increasing. For this reason, the dual-band antenna of LTE / WLAN is designed to help many users in a good way to use both technologies.

  • Maritime accidents, such as the collision of a fishing boat in Incheon's Yeongheung Island, result in several casualties and property damage, even if they occur just once. To prevent such accidents, the Incheon Metropolitan Government is implementing safety management policies; further, they will provide ship collision warning services to prevent collisions on WAVE (Wireless Access in Vehicular Environment) communication-based ship safety operation pilot projects. However, to realize these objectives, a service standardization method is required that defines specific service types, configurations, and systems, which should be prepared based on user requirement analyses. In this study, a standardization method of WAVE communication-based collision warning service was developed by analyzing the requirements of the vessel operators subject to the services and related authorities. This will help improve the quality of service, ensuring professionalism and reliability through continuous improvement and efforts for standardization, as well as data derived from demonstration projects. Therefore, it is expected to help prevent maritime accidents to a considerable extent.
