Security of information during transmission is a major issue in this modern era. All of the communicating bodies want confidentiality, integrity, and authenticity of their secret information. Researchers have presented various schemes to cope with these Internet security issues. In this context, both steganography and cryptography can be used effectively. However, major limitation in the existing steganographic methods is the low-quality output stego images, which consequently results in the lack of security. To cope with these issues, we present an efficient method for RGB images based on gray level modification (GLM) and multi-level encryption (MLE). The secret key and secret data is encrypted using MLE algorithm before mapping it to the grey-levels of the cover image. Then, a transposition function is applied on cover image prior to data hiding. The usage of transpose, secret key, MLE, and GLM adds four different levels of security to the proposed algorithm, making it very difficult for a malicious user to extract the original secret information. The proposed method is evaluated both quantitatively and qualitatively. The experimental results, compared with several state-of-the-art algorithms, show that the proposed algorithm not only enhances the quality of stego images but also provides multiple levels of security, which can significantly misguide image steganalysis and makes the attack on this algorithm more challenging.

We present the variability and time lag measurements of PG 0934+013 based on the photometric and spectroscopic monitoring campaign over two years. We obtained 46 epochs of data from the spectroscopic campaign, which was carried out using the South African Large Telescope with 1 week cadence over two sets of 4 month-long observing period, while we obtained 80 epochs of B band data from the campaign. Due to the six month gap between two campaigns, we separately measured the time lag of the $H{\beta}$ emission line by comparing the emission line light curve with the B band continuum light curve using the cross-correlation function techniques. We determined the time lags and black hole mass.
Purpose: For a single time-point hyperpolarized $^{13}C$ magnetic resonance spectroscopy imaging (MRSI) of animal models, scan-time window after injecting substrates is critical in terms of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of downstream metabolites. Pre-scans of time-resolved magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) can be performed to determine the scan-time window. In this study, based on two-site exchange model, protocol-specific simulation approaches were developed for $^{13}C$ MRSI and the optimal scan-time window was determined to maximize the SNR of downstream metabolites. Materials and Methods: The arterial input function and conversion rate constant from injected substrates (pyruvate) to downstream metabolite (lactate) were precalibrated, based on pre-scans of time-resolved MRS. MRSI was simulated using two-site exchange model with considerations of scan parameters of MRSI. Optimal scan-time window for mapping lactate was chosen from simulated lactate intensity maps. The performance was validated by multiple in vivo experiments of BALB/C nude mice with MDA-MB-231 breast tumor cells. As a comparison, MRSI were performed with other scan-time windows simply chosen from the lactate signal intensities of pre-scan time-resolved MRS. Results: The optimal scan timing for our animal models was determined by simulation, and was found to be 15 s after injection of the pyruvate. Compared to the simple approach, we observed that the lactate peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) was increased by 230%. Conclusion: Optimal scan timing to measure downstream metabolites using hyperpolarized $^{13}C$ MRSI can be determined by the proposed protocol-specific simulation approaches.

Local histogram equalization is one of the most popular ways of enhancing the local brightness features of an input image. However, local histogram equalization reveals some problems. First, undesired artifacts are produced by over-enhancing the local features. Second, the enhancement of local features does not always result in global contrast enhancement. To cope with these problems, we propose an illumination driven local histogram equalization method. First, to estimate the illumination information, the proposed method combines the input image and the blurred image produced through the process of the down-sampling and the up-sampling. Next, the proposed method adaptively adjusts the mapping function estimated by the local histogram equalization using the information of the illumination. As a result, the proposed illumination information driven local histogram equalization method simultaneously enhances the global and the local contrast levels while preventing any local artifacts. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the conventional methods on objective and subjective criteria.

This paper describes the development of 3-D web graphic library for dynamic web graphic design. The 3-D web graphic library developed in this per supports creation of 3-D objects like cube and sphere objects, elimination of hidden line and surface, and the shading of diffuse and specular reflections. It provides, in drawing, perspective projection of an object depth first sort of multiple objects, and wire frame and solid models. It also supports texture mapping function for realistic and dynamic web application in application software. Each created 3-D object gives functions for the scaling, translation, and rotation of itself. It can be used for the development of dynamic web application software and the advertisement of information for business and tourism as a 3-D web graphic library engine. It is written in 'Java' language and runs on web browsers with Java virtual machine without any dependancy of client computer system.

The self-splicing group I intron from Tetrahymena thermophila has been demonstrated to perform splicing reaction with its substrate RNA in the trans configuration. In this study, we explored the potential use of the trans-splicing group I ribozymes to replace a specific RNA with a new RNA that exerts any new function we want to introduce. We have chosen thymidine phosphorylase (TP) RNA as a target RNA that is known as a valid cancer prognostic factor. Cancer-specific expression of TP RNA was first evaluated with RT-PCR analysis of RNA from patients with gastric cancer. We determined next which regions of the TP RNA are accessible to ribozymes by employing an RNA mapping strategy, and found that the leader sequences upstream of the AUG start codon appeared to be particularly accessible. A specific ribozyme recognizing the most accessible sequence in the TP RNA with firefly luciferase transcript as a 3' exon was then developed. The specific trans-splicing ribozyme transferred an intended 3' exon tag sequence onto the targeted TP transcripts, resulting in a more than two fold induction of the reporter activity in the presence of TP RNA in mammalian cells, compared to the absence of the target RNA. These results suggest that the Tetrahymena ribozyme can be a potent anti-cancer agent to modify TP RNAs in tumors with a new RNA harboring anti-cancer activity.
The N basis functions are typically chosen so that Surface reflectance functions(SRFs) and spectral power distributions (SPDs) can be accurately reconstructed from their N-dimensional vector codes. Typical rendering applications assume that the resulting mapping is an isomorphism where vector operations of addition, scalar multiplication, component-wise multiplication on the N-vectors can be used to model physical operations such as superposition of lights, light-surface interactions and inter-reflection. The vector operations do not mirror the physical. However, if the choice of basis functions is restricted to characteristic functions then the resulting map between SPDs/SRFs and N-vectors is anisomorphism that preserves the physical operations needed in rendering. This paper will show how to select optimal characteristic function bases of any dimension N (number of basis functions) and also evaluate how accurately a large set of Munsell color chips can approximated as basis functions of dimension N.

In LTE-Advanced that different networks coexist, it is considered that it is actually difficult to provide service continuity with a procedural and static control method applied to the existing voice service. This paper suggests Service Self-Organization to support the service continuity effectively based on SON. It means a method in which a subscriber's terminal collects information about its current condition and base station around, and a base station, through the data collected by monitoring inner or adjacent base station, shares related data and converges, controlling service continuity on its own. In other words, as context information of mobile terminal and base station changes, set-up of related functions such as ISHO, cell selection, source allocation, load control, and QoS mapping is adapted; each function fits into the change, exchanges the process of reorganization, and interacts; these actions go toward to satisfy service continuity. Simulation results show that it provides better performances than the conventional one with the measure of resource utilization rate and outage probability.

The speech recognition is an active research area in the human computer interface (HCI). The objective of this study is to control digital devices with voices. In addition, the mouse is used as a computer peripheral tool which is widely used and provided in graphical user interface (GUI) computing environments. In this paper, we propose a method of controlling the mouse with the real-time speech recognition function of a smartphone. The processing steps include extracting the core voice signal after receiving a proper length voice input with real time, to perform the quantization by using the learned code book after feature extracting with mel frequency cepstral coefficient (MFCC), and to finally recognize the corresponding vowel using hidden markov model (HMM). In addition a virtual mouse is operated by mapping each vowel to the mouse command. Finally, we show the various mouse operations on the desktop PC display with the implemented smartphone application.
S. coelicolor A3(2) cells were treated with various redox-cycling agents on nutrient agar plates and examined for their effect on the growth and differentiation. When treated with plumbagin, severe effect on cell viability was observed at concentrations above 250 $\mu$M. However, the surviving colonies differentiated normally. When treated with 100 $\mu$M paraquat, growth rate was decreased and morphological differentiation was inhibited, while the survival rate was maintained at about 100% even at 5 mM paraquat. Menadione or lawsone did not cause any visible changes at concentrations up to 1 mM. The effect of paraquat was also observed when it was added to nutrient agar plate before spore inoculation. Paraquat had also observed when it was added to nutrient agar plate before spore inoculation. Paraquat had no effect on colonies growing on R2YE agar plates. Among the components of R2YE medium selectively added to nutrient agar medium, CaCl$_2$ was found to have some protective function from the inhibitory effect of paraquat. As a first step to study the mechanism of the inhibitory effect of paraquat on differentiation, resistant mutants which sporulate well in the presence of paraquat were screened following UV mutagenesis. Three paraquat-resistant mutants were isolated with a frequency of 3 $\times$10${-5}$. Their mutation sites were determined by genetic crossings. All three mutations were mapped to a single locus near arg4 at about 1 o'clock on the genetic map of S. coelicolor A3(2).
