시간별 교통량 변화에 따른 환경오염지도(대기 및 소음) 구축방안에 관한 연구 (Hourly Environmental Pollution (Air Pollution and Noise) Mapping Method by the Traffic Volume Change)

  • Air pollution and traffic noise from roads distributed near residential area has been a major social problem. In this study, an environmental pollution map for a residential area of Shihung-city was made by an expectation model based on hourly traffic volume change. Using the result from the model, a plan to reduce population in the residential area was established. The result of the modelling is summarized as follows: 1. At peak traffic hours (18 o'clock), 301-500 degree in hazardous and $d_{25}$ degree (25% of the residents are suffering extremely from the noise) in noise pollution were predicted in Jeongwang Main Road in Shihung city. 2. The calculated critical pollutant standard index, PSI showed the air pollution level, especially PM-10 high enough to require re-entrainment. 3. It was expected air pollution would extensively extend over the area distribution of each degree. However, noise pollution problem was limited to the area near roads.

MultiView-Based Hand Posture Recognition Method Based on Point Cloud

  • Hand posture recognition has played a very important role in Human Computer Interaction (HCI) and Computer Vision (CV) for many years. The challenge arises mainly due to self-occlusions caused by the limited view of the camera. In this paper, a robust hand posture recognition approach based on 3D point cloud from two RGB-D sensors (Kinect) is proposed to make maximum use of 3D information from depth map. Through noise reduction and registering two point sets obtained satisfactory from two views as we designed, a multi-viewed hand posture point cloud with most 3D information can be acquired. Moreover, we utilize the accurate reconstruction and classify each point cloud by directly matching the normalized point set with the templates of different classes from dataset, which can reduce the training time and calculation. Experimental results based on posture dataset captured by Kinect sensors (from digit 1 to 10) demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

칼라 영상 분할을 위한 경계선 보존 영역 병합 방법 (Region Merging Method Preserving Object Boundary for Color Image Segmentation)

  • 본 논문에서는 물체의 경계선을 고려한 칼라 영상 분할 방법을 제안한다. 제안 방법은 먼저 원영상을 벡터 양자화한 후 양자화된 영상의 인덱스 맵을 이용하여 초기 영역을 설정하였다. 그 후 HSI컬러 공간을 이용한 영역 병합에서 물체의 경계선을 고려하기 위해 경계선 제한 성분을 적용하여 영역들을 병합하였다. 또한 RGB 컬러 공간을 이용하여 HSI 컬러 공간에서 병합되지 않은 영역들을 병합하였다. 그리 고 영역병합 알고리즘을 통해 반복적인 처리를 감소시킴으로써 처리 시간을 줄였다. 실험 결과에서는 다양한 영상에 대해 주요 영역들의 분할 결과 및 처리소요시간에서 우수한 성능을 보였다.

Private sector engagement in large scale solar power deployment in Sri Lanka: Role of green climate fund

  • Sri Lanka has strongly understood the importance of mitigation of climate change and various measures have been taken. To tackle the climate change, after ratifying Paris Agreement, Sri Lanka has pledged to reduce her greenhouse gas emission in the energy sector by 20% (16% unconditional and 4% conditional) by 2030 based on the BAU scenario. Simultaneously, the government introduced its new energy policy and strategies in 2019 with a vision of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. This paper survey related key government documents, policies, reports, and academic articles to investigate opportunities for the private sector to invest large scale solar power deployment (10 MW or above) and to get support from climate finance under article 6 of the Paris Agreement. It has found, growing concern on the environment, energy security issues and increase import expenses for fossil fuels are the main influencing factors to move renewable sources. Further, government investment and FDI both have gradually decreased in the energy sector. Therefore, an alternative financing mechanism is needed. Although the private sector allowed investing in the energy sector since 1996 with the introduction of IPP (Independent Power Producers), it could not make considerable progress on involving large scale solar utility projects. This has revealed government policy is not aligning with the long term generation plan of the electricity sector. The study has also found, it needs more strategic road map, coordination with different institutions, monitoring system to enhance large scale solar contribution.

MPEG-2 비디오 부호화기의 프레임 메모리 하드웨어 구현 (Implementation of the Frame Memory Hardware for MPEG-2 Video Encoder)

  • 본 논문에서는 MPEG-2 비디오 부호화기에서의 프레임 메모리 하드웨어 구현을 위한 DRAM의 효율적인 메모리 맵과 이에 따른 하드웨어 구조를 제안한다. 논문에서 제시된 메모리 맵은 DRAM 사용 시간과 대역폭을 줄임으로써 시스템의 성능을 개선할 수 있도록 설정되었고, 개발된 하드웨어는 MPEG-2 비디오 부호화기에 구성된 타모듈과 인터페이스를 위해 하드웨어는 VHDL을 이용하여 구현하였으며, $0.5\mu\textrm{m}$, VTI, ASIC 라이브러리인 camn5a3을 이용하여 합성하였다. 개발된 하드웨어에 대한 RT (register transfer) 수준 및 게이트 수준의 검증을 위해 VHDL 시뮬레이터와 로직 합성 툴을 사용하였고, 추후 성능 개선과 기능 검증을 위해서 하드웨어 에뮬레이터를 개발하였다. 구현된 하드웨어 MPEG-2의 MP@ML에서 요구하는 전송률로 데이터를 채널에 전송할 수 있도록 하였다.

Signal Transduction Network Leading to COX-2 Induction: A Road Map in Search of Cancer Chemopreventives

  • Cancer is still a major global health concern even after an everlasting strive in conquering this dread disease. Emphasis is now given to chemoprevention to reduce the risk of cancer and also to improve the quality of life among cancer afflicted individuals. Recent progress in molecular biology of cancer has identified key components of the cellular signaling network, whose functional abnormality results in undesired alterations in cellular homeostasis, creating a cellular microenvironment that favors premalignant and malignant transformation. Multiple lines of evidence suggest an elevated expression of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) is causally linked to cancer. In response to oxidative/pro-inflammatory stimuli, turning on unusual signaling arrays mediated through diverse classes of kinases and transcription factors results in aberrant expression of COX-2. Population-based as well as laboratory studies have explored a broad spectrum of chemopreventive agents including selective COX-2 inhibitors and a wide variety of anti-inflammatory phytochemicals, which have been shown to target cellular signaling molecules as underlying mechanisms of chemoprevention. Thus, unraveling signaling pathways regulating aberrant COX-2 expression and targeted blocking of one or more components of those signal cascades may be exploited in searching chemopreventive agents in the future.

클라우드 기반 센서 데이터 관리 시스템 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of Cloud-based Sensor Data Management System)

  • 최근 대규모 센서 네트워크의 구축이 증가하면서 대규모의 센서 데이터를 효율적으로 관리하는 시스템이 요구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 저비용, 높은 확장성 그리고 고 효율성을 지닌 클라우드 기반의 센서 데이터 관리 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템에서는 센서 데이터는 클라우드 게이트웨이를 통해 클라우드로 전송되며 이때 이상상황 검출과 이벤트 처리가 수행된다. 클라우드로 전송된 센서 데이터는 분산 컬럼 지향 데이터 베이스인 하둡 HBase에 저장되며 맵리듀스 모델 기반의 질의처리 모듈을 통해 병렬 처리된다. 처리된 결과는 REST 기반의 웹서비스를 통해 제공되므로 다양한 플랫폼의 응용프로그램과 연동이 가능하다.

Analyzing Box-Office Hit Factors Using Big Data: Focusing on Korean Films for the Last 5 Years

  • Korea has the tenth largest film industry in the world; however, detailed analyses using the factors contributing to successful film commercialization have not been approached. Using big data, this paper analyzed both internal and external factors (including genre, release date, rating, and number of screenings) that contributed to the commercial success of Korea's top 10 ranking films in 2011-2015. The authors developed a WebCrawler to collect text data about each movie, implemented a Hadoop system for data storage, and classified the data using Map Reduce method. The results showed that the characteristic of "release date," followed closely by "rating" and "genre" were the most influential factors of success in the Korean film industry. The analysis in this study is considered groundwork for the development of software that can predict box-office performance.

A study on the effect of the condition number in the magnetic field mapping of the Air-Core solenoid

  • Mapping is a useful tool in the magnetic field analysis and design. In some specific research area, such as the nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) or the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), it is important to map the magnetic field in the interesting space with high accuracy. In this paper, an indirect mapping method in the center volume of an air-core solenoid is presented, based on the solution of the Laplace's equation for the field. Through the mathematical analysis on the mapping calculation, we know that the condition number of the matrix, generated by the measurement points, can greatly affect the error of mapping result. Two different arrangement methods of the measurement points in field mapping are described in this paper: helical cylindrical line (HCL) method and parallel cylindrical line (PCL) method. According to the condition number, the HCL method is recommended to measure the field components using one probe. As a simple example, we mapped the magnetic fields in a MRI main magnet system. Comparing the results in the different methods, it is feasible and convenient to apply the condition number to reduce the error in the field mapping calculation. Finally, some guidelines were presented for the magnetic field mapping in the center volume of the air-core solenoid.

빅데이타를 이용한 SNS 활용방안 연구 (SNS using Big Data Utilization Research)

  • IT 융합, 소셜 미디어, 서비스 산업 고도화, 기업들의고객 데이터 수집활동, 멀티미디어 콘텐츠의 폭발적 증가와 스마트폰 보급, SNS 활성화, 사물통신망의 저변확대로 데이터량은 10년 전 산업분야에 걸쳐 고르게 EDW(Enterprise Data Warehouse)의 수요가 증가했었다. 특히 통신업계에서는 KT가 전사적인 EDW를 진행 했고, 산자부도 각각의 업무 부서별로 여러 건의 DW 프로젝트가 진행 하였다. 이외에도 연세의료원, 건국대 병원 등 많은 종합 병원들이 올해 DW의 도입하여 구축을 완료하였다. 그러나 계속 증가되고 있는 데이터와 사용자의 증가는 데이터의 관리에 또 다른 문제점을 만들고 있다. 최근 SNS사용자의 급증과 이를 배경으로한 응용 연구들이 진행되면서 빅데이터를 이용한 새로운 연구를 제안하고자 한다.
