Agriculture production is a critical human intensive task, which takes place in all regions of the world. The process to grow and harvest crops is labor intensive in many countries due to the lack of automation and advanced technology. Much of the difficult, dangerous and dirty labor of crop production can be automated with intelligent and robotic platforms. We propose an intelligent, agent-oriented robotic team, which can enable the process of harvesting, gathering and collecting crops and fruits, of many types, from agricultural fields. This paper describes a novel robotic organization enabling humans, robots and agents to work together for automation of gathering and collection functions. The focus of the research is a model, called HARMS, which can enable Humans, software Agents, Robots, Machines and Sensors to work together indistinguishably. With this model, any capability-based human-like organization can be conceived and modeled, such as in manufacturing or agriculture. In this research, we model, design and implement a technology application of knowledge-based robot-to-robot and human-to-robot collaboration for an agricultural gathering and collection function. The gathering and collection functions were chosen as they are some of the most labor intensive and least automated processes in the process acquisition of agricultural products. The use of robotic organizations can reduce human labor and increase efficiency allowing people to focus on higher level tasks and minimizing the backbreaking tasks of agricultural production in the future. In this work, the HARMS model was applied to three different robotic instances and an integrated test was completed with satisfactory results that show the basic promise of this research.
Regarding a long-term strategic plan in the food and agriculture sector, R&D policies and investment trends in major overseas countries are reviewel. The importance of efficient resource management is emphasized along with continuous government support for R&D in the agri-food industry. In response to facing social issues such as climate change, food security, food safety, health, and environment, research and innovation agenda is mainly focused on harmony between economy and environment, human nutrition and health as well as animal and plant health, and an integrated ecosystem approach. Particularly in the food sector, public investment is generally made in food safety, nutrition and health, and private investment for food processing and manufacturing. Public-private collaboration is carried out in order to enhance the efficiency of R&D innovation and development strategies in the agri-food industry.
Recently, virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies are attracting attention as core technologies in the era of the 4th industrial revolution. These virtual and augmented reality technologies are being used in a variety of industries, including the construction industry, healthcare industry, and manufacturing industry, to innovate in communication and collaboration, education and simulation, customer service and reinvention of the customer experience. In this paper, VR-based experiential safety education was conducted for workers of shipbuilding companies in Ulsan city, and for them, the educational effectiveness such as immersion, site applicability, safety accident prevention, education satisfaction, overall performance, and safety behavior in VR-based safety experience education were measured. In addition, we examined whether the immersion of VR-based safety experience education affects site applicability, safety accident prevention, educational satisfaction, overall performance, and safety behavior. Furthermore, it was analyzed whether site applicability plays a mediating role in the relationship between immersion and safety accident prevention. As a result, it was found that the immersion of VR-based safety experience education affects site applicability, safety accident prevention effect, education satisfaction, overall performance, and safety behavior, and that site applicability mediates between immersion and safety accident prevention. Based on these results, we suggests a direction for the development of VR-based contents in the field of safety and health and the transformation of safety and health education in the future.
The recent coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic has accelerated market growth by promoting opportunities and advancements in drug development and vaccine manufacturing. Despite the rapid expansion of the global bio market, South Korea's bio market holds a relatively small share. To address this, the government is implementing various strategies, including the establishment of bio clusters, to foster innovation and growth in the bio industry. This study focuses on Korea's HongNeung bio cluster and conducts a comparative analysis with the Boston Bio Cluster in the United States and the Biopolis in Singapore. By examining the development history, structure, and success factors of these clusters through three categories-infrastructure, internal components, and policies and systems-commonalities and differences among the clusters are analyzed. Subsequently, development strategies for the HongNeung bio cluster are proposed. For the HongNeung bio cluster to grow into a leading bio cluster, strong government support, expansion of innovative infrastructure, talent acquisition, and the implementation of customized policies such as strategic partnerships are necessary. Additionally, the establishment of active collaboration and exchange systems with overseas bio clusters is required.

In order to cope with the rapidly changing product development environment, individual manufacturing enterprises are forced to collaborate with each other through establishing a virtual organization. In collaboration, designated organizations work together for mutual gain based on product data interoperability. However, product data interoperability is not fully facilitated due to semantic inconsistency among product data models of individual enterprises. In order to overcome the semantic inconsistency problem, this paper proposes a reference ontology, Reference Domain Ontology(RDO), and a methodology for product data interoperability with semantic consistency using RDO. RDO describes semantics of product data model and metamodel for all application domains in a virtual organization. Using RDO, application domains in a virtual organization can easily understand the product data models of others. RDO is agile and temporal such that it is created with the formation of a virtual organization, copes with changes of the organization, and disappears with the vanishment of the organization. RDO is built by a hybrid approach of top-down using a upper ontology and bottom-up based on the merging of ontologies of application domains in a virtual organization. With this methodology, every domain in a virtual organization can achieve product data model interoperability without model transformation.
As global partnership is recently getting important in order to establish supply chain network in global managing environment, companies tend to improve quality and warranty in SCM(Supply Chain Management) by certifying ISO(International Organization for Standardization). This research investigated structural relationship how strategic and operational ISO application level and trust, immersion, collaborative factors in partnership process affect to companies business performance. This research was surveyed with 147 manufacturing companies in South Korea and conducted empirical analysis using Structural equation model. The research hypothesis and model was derived from the basis of existing theory and empirical research, and obtained the following results. Firstly, the strategic ISO level showed positive(+) effect on trust and immersion factor. Second, the operational ISO level showed positive(+) effect on trust and collaborative factor. Third, trust factor in the partnership process showed positive(+) effect on immersion factor. Lastly, collaborative factor in partnership process showed positive(+) effect on companies business performance. Implication for this research is that companies must consider ISO application in establishing partnership and companies require prolonged effort using trust, immersing, collaborative factors into partnership process to improve business performance.

Function analysis and idea creation phase in Value Engineering(VE) Process is applied to manufacturing Industry for developing functions for elements of products, and in construction come to use various components like process, size of project, spaces as well as function itself due to multi-functional aspect. For this reason, VE applications to the construction industry are considered to be less frequent and efficient than to the manufacturing. To resolve this problem, a new technique of Function Integration Fast(HI FAST) and Hierarchical Value Engineering Concept Modules(HVECM) was made for practical integration and sequence of VE job Plan. Two types of function would be defined In this method, first and second function, during the job Plan process, and two function champions be selected for next creation phase process. For verification of consecutiveness of function analysis and idea creation phase for successful VE project implementation, this methodology was tested under design phase in office and IT Multi-functional building project. Make sure the successful application of this process with this method, need to develop the talent of VE experts and team members for process of function analysis and creation phase.
Focusing on open innovation which is regarded as an important framework for strengthening technological innovation capabilities, in this study empirical analysis is conducted on Korean manufacturing companies, particularly based on the survey results of 149 domestic manufacturing companies that carry out innovation activities in order to identify influence factors for open innovation activities. Analysis on the influence factors of open innovation activities categorized into characteristics of environment, firm-specific characteristics, and characteristics of institutions revealed that characteristics of environment in terms of the degree of market competition and technological changes influence outside-in open innovation activities. Such results suggest that companies respond to increased market competition or technological changes by promoting research and development (R&D) and maintaining or acquiring market competitiveness through introduction of external technology and utilization of external information by means of research collaboration, user innovation, and so on. In terms of firm-specific characteristics, outside-in open innovation activities are influence by R&D personnel, R&D investment, number of international business, export, and openness of corporate culture while inside-out open innovation activities are influenced by characteristics of international organization and CEO's capabilities. In order for companies to strengthen outside-in open innovation activities emphasis on research personnel, R&D input factors such as research funds are necessary whereas to increase inside-out open innovation activities organization solely responsible for international affairs should be established while the CEO needs to focus on open and cooperative entrepreneurship rather than internal technological innovation activities. In terms of characteristics of institutions, outside-in innovation activities are influenced by technological networking whereas inside-out innovation activities are influenced by networking for development of technology and the presence in industrial cluster. This means that the government needs to establish industrial clusters and try to expand technological networking to facilitate open innovation activities.

Recently, interests on cleaning robots workable in pipes (termed as in-pipe cleaning robot) are increasing because Garbage Automatic Collection Facilities (i.e, GACF) are widely being installed in Seoul metropolitan area of Korea. So far research on in-pipe robot has been focused on inspection rather than cleaning. In GACF, when garbage is moving, the impurities which are stuck to the inner face of the pipe are removed (diameter: 300 mm or 400 mm). Thus, in this paper, by using TRIZ (Inventive Theory of Problem Solving in Russian abbreviation), an in-pipe cleaning robot of GACF with the 6-link sliding mechanism will be proposed, which can be adjusted to fit into the inner face of pipe using pneumatic pressure(not spring). The proposed in-pipe cleaning robot for GACF can have forward/backward movement itself as well as rotation of brush in cleaning. The robot body should have the limited size suitable for the smaller pipe with diameter of 300 mm. In addition, for the pipe with diameter of 400 mm, the links of robot should stretch to fit into the diameter of the pipe by using the sliding mechanism. Based on the conceptual design using TRIZ, we will set up the initial design of the robot in collaboration with a field engineer of Robot Valley, Inc. in Korea. For the optimal design of in-pipe cleaning robot, the maximum impulsive force of collision between the robot and the inner face of pipe is simulated by using RecurDyn(R) when the link of sliding mechanism is stretched to fit into the 400 mm diameter of the pipe. The stresses exerted on the 6 links of sliding mechanism by the maximum impulsive force will be simulated by using ANSYS$^{(R)}$ Workbench based on the Design Of Experiment(in short DOE). Finally the optimal dimensions including thicknesses of 4 links will be decided in order to have the best safety factor as 2 in this paper as well as having the minimum mass of 4 links. It will be verified that the optimal design of 4 links has the best safety factor close to 2 as well as having the minimum mass of 4 links, compared with the initial design performed by the expert of Robot Valley, Inc. In addition, the prototype of in-pipe cleaning robot will be stated with further research.

This paper aims to explain the reasons of manufacturing's reshoring (U-turn) and to suggest the supporting law and policy and the utilization of enterprise architecture (EA) in order to attract reshoring manufacturers into port logistics park. First, this paper found the reasons of reshoring reviewing the previous researches. The reasons are 1) advanced country's manufacturing competitiveness in total production cost compared to the emerging countries such as China, 2) the government policies enhancing the reshoring of their enterprise, and 3) the deterioration of management environment of foreign companies in the emerging countries. Second, this paper reviewed the supporting law and policy of korean government for reshoring manufacurers, and suggested the method to attract them into port logistics park. The current law to support the reshoring manufacturers does not have articles about moving into the port logistics park in order to help global trade from outsourcing countries. Finally, this paper provided the method of utilization of enterprise architecture to help reshoring decision making to get their benefit for the future and collaboration among related government departments with the ministry of maritime affairs and fisheries.
