This study examines the changes of the online music market and revenue models by the theory of network society and communications of Manuel Castells for the content platform. As a result of this study, we found that active communications among the members in the network, played a crucial role in the creation of contents and the promotions of profit for platform providers. It is especially important to create an environment in which members can voluntarily communicate rather than an artificial control. The content platform business consists of people, thus it has been proven that providing play elements of culture and society are important, as well as necessary conditions to the generation related to content based platform businesses.

There are many sociological methodology for the study on cyber community. Especially for the online social network which is constructed by the notion of the social network, the social network analysis can be a superior methodology for the understanding of the general phenomenon and the solutions for the problematic issues. As pointed by Manuel Castells, the problem of the unification and the fragmentation, which is came after the participation and the openness, is prevailed in cyber community by its characteristics. However, computational properties that exceed the limitation of the time and space can bestow other alternatives. The Open API in the social network services that is more popular in these days is the one of those alternatives. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the problematic phenomenon of online social network and to search the solutions for those problems with the acceptance of Open API technology.

The Korea urbanization has been accelerated without regard to regional traits and the environment. Most of rural areas have been overurbanized with proper and long term plan. Especially the case of Yongin-community which is located 50km south of Seoul reveals a typical wrong urbanization policy. Evidence of such wrong policy is proved by this study for last three decades(1970-2000) in political economic approach with special reference to the Manuel Castells' theory. The study concludes that urbanization with no proper development plan is mostly vulnerable and wasteful. And the environment is once spoiled, it is almost impossible to recover, so it is necessary for us long term and proper plan before development.

This paper aims to analyze the rise and decline of Seattle Community Network(briefly SCN), an electronic community network based upon Seattle, U.S. from the perspective of 'social shaping of technology' theory rather than that of technological determinism That is, this paper focuses on the social processes of the evolution of SCN. And this paper considers SCN as one important element of the 'network society', a concept manufactured by Manuel Castells. SCN was built successfully over 10 years ago by some progressive local activists and volunteers. The main purpose of building SCN at that time was said to make local community stronger with the help of advanced information technology. This can be understood that the founders of SCN tried to shape the direction of network society development based on civil society's values including public access and commitment to democracy rather than those of private companies. After some years of successful working, however, SCN started to decline. The expansion of internet services and the booming of dot.com companies in the late 90's were the main factors that made SCN decline. In conclusion, it can be said that the socia-economic factors rather than technological factors gave birth to the rise and decline of SCN.
