  • In most shipyards, the measurement of 3-dimensional relative position of pipes should be connected in the block depends on the manual operation. It results a very tedious and inefficient procedure, thus the proper measurement system is needed to improve productivity and accuracy. This paper describes the development of pipe measurement system including system concepts, measuring procedures, system calibration, and its accuracy and productivity. And also, the possibility and things to be improved for application in shipyard are discussed in this paper.

  • This paper check over the shoulder disorder derived from musculoskeletal disorder. Particularly, it performing a manual measurement for horizontal adduction and horizontal abduction of shoulder. Here, if the value is lower than the reference value, It presents a reasonable manual therapies.

  • Objectives : The aim of this study was to prepare the validity and relevance for National Health Insurance of Chuna manual therapy through measurement of resource-based relative value scale(RBRVS) scores. Methods : To prepare for National Health Insurance, we studied it about standardized classification of the practice and definition, and speciality by difficulty and safety of Chuna manual therapy. Results : Classification of the practice could be classified to 7 of Chuna manual therapy and 24 traditional manual therapy, it also categorized as one of 3 kinds(basic, simple, special). The RBRVS scores of Chuna manual therapy were measured to 283.28, 566.57 and 1133.14. Conclusions : This study could be used to basis data for National Health Insurance of Chuna manual therapy, but further studies must be needed more objective investigation and data to calculate RBRVS scores.

  • This study deals with the motion modeling by the unit motion of robots and the work measurement through classification of robot motions and standardization. The proposed approach is to scrutinize the Predetermined Time Standards(PTS) methods for measurement of manual tasks performed by people and the basic motions for accomplishing that tasks. And then, it constructs the unit motion models as subsets composed with the basic motions. It apply together with movements distance as a time variable, too. These results are used for the work measurements of robots by the unit motion models.

A Study on the Setting of Breast Measurement Points on 3D Scan Data

  • In this paper, we propose setting measurement point in the 3D scan data based on the manual measurement data. The optimal 3D body scan postures and measurement points for automatic measurement of breast were set up. The outer breast point may be different depending on the body shape or standing posture as it is on the line connected from the bisecting point of the lateral waist thickness to front armpit point. Therefore, it is necessary to consider the breast-related outer point proposed in this study. And many researches need to reduce the differences between MAM and 3D dimension items associated with the upper breast point. When measuring depth, the difference by pressing in MAM should be taken into account. And the differences in flexion depending on breast type can make a difference in the 3D measurement. So the measurement method in 3D scan should be further studied depending on the types of breast and verified by multiple subjects.

  • Objective : Women can be affected physically and psychologically by pregnancy and delivery. Because the relaxation of pelvic ligaments has a chance to cause pelvic deviation, we investigated the radiological peivic deviation according to delivery types and experiences. Method : 71 patients were evaluated by X-ray findings. Every patients divided into two group according to delivery types and experiences. After measured innominate measurement. off centering measurement, sacral ala measurement and ilium shadow measurement, X-ray findings in each group were analyzed statistically. Results and Conclusions : It was concluded that the ilium was more deviated into outer side in normal delivery group than caesarean operation group, and more deviated into inner or outer side in multipara group than primipara group.

Repeatability Test for the Asymmetry Measurement of Human Appearance using General-purpose Depth Cameras (범용 깊이 카메라를 이용한 인체 외형 비대칭 측정의 반복성 평가)

  • Human appearance analysis is an important part of both eastern and western medicine fields, such as Sasang constitutional medicine, rehabilitation medicine, dental medicine, and etc. By the rapid growing of depth camera technology, 3D measuring becomes popular in many applications including medical area. In this study, the possibility of using depth cameras in asymmetry analysis of human appearance is examined. We introduce the development of 3D measurement system using 2 Microsoft Kinect depth cameras and fully automated asymmetry analysis algorithms based on computer vision technology. We compare the proposed automated method to the manual method, which is usually used in asymmetry analysis. As a measure of repeatability, standard deviations of asymmetry indices are examined by 10 times repeated experiments. Experimental results show that the standard deviation of the automated method (1.00mm for face, 1.22mm for body) is better than that of the manual method (2.06mm for face, 3.44mm for body) for the same 3D measurement. We conclude that the automated method using depth cameras can be successfully applicable to practical asymmetry analysis and contribute to reliable human appearance analysis.

  • This study was done to find out the correlation between manual palpitation and mechanical measurement and the possibility to produce the data using chest and abdominal Front Point(募穴). Followings are the results from the present study. 1. The maximal pressure felt by the patient was 10kgf/$cm^2$. 2. The maximal deformation felt by the patient was in the range of 6cm. 3. The modulus (index obtained by the division of maximal pressure and maximal deformation) was highly correlated with manual palpitation. 4. It was useful to classify two front points in the abdomen and chest when modulus is concerned. 5. When the index of elastic modulus are big and small enough, it is said excessiveness and deficiency(虛實), respectively. Overall, this study was able to find the possibility to quantify the traditional state of excessiveness and deficiency in the form of objected data.

A Study on Breast Type Classification & Discrimination Using Manual Measurement- Focusing on Korean Women in Their 20s -

  • The manual measurements of 182 unmarried women subjects in their 20s was classified 4-breast types. For the breast type classification, 4 factors were identified, such as overall breast factor, upper breast internal shape factor, breast volume factor, and lower breast external shape factor. The breast shapes were 'breast with well-grown upper part', 'flat breast', 'breast with well-grown lower part', and 'protruded breast'. The breast types can be differentiated in 10 items of actual anthropometric dimension the length between frontal neck point and nipple point, length between lateral neck point and nipple point, length between the breast inner points, nipple to nipple breadth, diameter below the breast, inner depth of breast, outer length of breast, length below the breast, length between breast outer point and upper breast point, and contour line length below the breast.

A Case Study on the Field Monitoring of the Deep Rock Excavation Site in Urban Area on Severe Unbalanced Pressure Condition (편토압이 심한 도심지 대심도 암반굴착공사에서의 계측사례)

  • One of the most important item for insuring the stability of ground in urban deep excavation site near by major structure such as subway is displacement control of earth retaining wall. The field monitoring system is classified by two types as manual system and automatic system. The application case of latter type of field monitoring is increased because real time measurement is possible in automatic system and that is correspondent with the recent constructional trend. Though the automatic monitoring system is more useful and advanced than manual monitoring system, accuracy of the system is not verified sufficiently. It was examined that the reliance of automatic monitoring system in this paper through the comparison of monitoring result obtained one of deep urban excavation site in which the each type of monitoring system was executed concurrently. Result of the examination is that the two types of monitoring system is generally alike in view of monitoring result, so the engineering reliance of automatic system was confirmed in case site. This study was researched in restricted one case site, so it is expected more precise analysis from security of more data monitored and progressive study.
