Procedure Development for Organizing Electronic Technical Manual of Construction Design Information and Applicability Analysis for Practical Project (건설공사 설계도서매뉴얼의 전자화 절차구성 및 실무 적용효과 분석)

  • The existing design materials by document type are restricted in searching and acquiring necessary design information because the materials consist of huge information and various document types. This study suggests a methodology to develop an electronic technical manual that can manage construction design materials by XML-base integrated information system. Electronic technical manual for design materials can provide visualized information through various multimedia tools such as multi-link, virtual reality and animation. Using an integrated electronic manual for construction project can prevent to miss necessary design information. The results of this study includes a data flow diagram to develop an interactive electronic technical manual (IETM) for construction design information. Finally the study suggests some scenarios for practical use and quantitative analysis of application effect analysis by AHP method.

An Introductory Study for Developing the Urban Street Design Manual (도시부 도로의 구조시설.기준 작성 기초 연구 - 횡단구성을 중심으로 -)

  • Urbanization of Korea reaches up to 90% in the year 2003. What that means is that 90% of population live in the city areas. This phenomenon emphasizes importances of urban streets where people feel accessibility and level of environmental amenity, enjoy recreational activity, and live for a life. However, the current Korean manual for designing road is not enough to accomodate various activities of urban streets since its target is basically rural roads. This study proposes the necessity of a new design manual of urban streets via analyzing the practices of the development countries, and aims to recommend what should be prepared and how those are defined for developing a design manual of urban streets in Korea. It is inevitable that the design manual of urban streets be based on the flexibility and diversity. The manual should be made through consensus among the related stakeholders such as designers, residents and officials. And it also should reflect the characteristics of each city. It is somehow true that without the manual, designing of urban streets can be done although it is not fully acceptable. This does not mean that the necessity of the manual can be ignored. Rather, we should remember that the related stakeholders may not want to reveal what are hidden in developing the design manual of urban streets. What are hidden is that developing the design manual of urban streets is difficult problem to solve. It is a wish that this study triggers the on-going research and interests on developing the design manual of urban streets.

Design and Analysis of a New Shift Automation Mechanism for Automated Manual Transmission (AMT용 새로운 변속자동 메커니즘 설계 및 해석)

  • This article proposes a novel shift automation mechanism for an automated manual transmission (AMT). The development of an automated manual transmission is currently being paid considerable attention by vehicle manufacturers, with the prospects of combining the comfort of an automatic transmission and the high efficiency of a manual transmission. In order to automate the shift mechanism of a manual transmission, the proposed shift automation mechanism consists of two electric motors, cross shaped pinion gears, rack type shift rails, and a ball splined hollow shaft. First we describe the shift mechanism and operating principles of a manual transmission to investigate important design criteria for the shift automation device. And a new shift automation mechanism is described with its structure, elements, and operating principles in detail. Using a conventional manual transmission, we develop a full three-dimensional CAD model of an AMT which includes main components of the manual transmission and the designed shift automation mechanism. Finally we investigate the operating performances and feasibility of the designed AMT by a dynamic analysis.

A Development of the Construction Manual for the Prefabricated Temporary Housing in Subway Stations (지하철역의 조립식 임시주거 시공 매뉴얼 개발 연구)

  • Following natural disasters, there is a need to develop temporary housing through the rapid installation of mass-produced prefabricated housing. This study has developed a model construction manual for prefabricated temporary housing installable in underground spaces. First, the temporary housing prototype was drawn based on opinion poll results from earlier studies. $4.32m^2$ was calculated as the basic unit of the temporary housing living space for one person. Units included panel type, box type and mixed-type, for a variety of field conditions and scales. In order to enable space expansion and movement desirable to the user, the prototype was combination of panel and box types. The drawn prototype was utilized as the basic design template for producing prototypes and for the manual. Second, the possibility of utilizing subway stations as temporary housing was verified through the production of the prototype, and the construction process was summarized in the manual. The manual was developed in the form of a checklist to provide a guideline for users to build with prefab materials.

Application of Customizing Manual According to Changes in Consumption Patterns Practical Nail Design Study (소비패턴 변화에 따른 커스터마이징 매뉴얼 적용 실용 네일 디자인 연구)

  • This study is a marketing tool for securing loyal customers and increasing sales by developing a customizing manual according to the change of segmented nail art consumption pattern due to the development of the nail industry and performing art to meet the needs of various customers and increase satisfaction. This was done to demonstrate the possibility of use. In order to develop a manual for the study, we conducted a survey that combined an online survey and in-person survey for ordinary citizens in their 20s and 50s living in Busan and Gyeongnam. Taste (50.0%) was the highest, and personal preference (62.9%) was also the highest for items related to nail art color selection, suggesting that the consumption pattern is changing to require a variety of personal art preferences rather than recommendations or recommendations from practitioners. Could know. As a result of performing nail art by applying the customizing manual developed based on customer selection, opinions were shown in the order of reliability (39.1%), attachment (39.1%), and rarity (26.1%). Utilization (73.9%) was also high in the question of 'If customizing manual was developed as an app', and overall satisfaction with the art selected by the customer was high, indicating that the customer had a high degree of attachment to the nail art design decided by the customer. As for the improvement points of the manual, it was possible to confirm the necessity of developing the app with the majority opinion that handwriting was inconvenient. Based on the nail art customizing manual of this study, the follow-up research proceeds with the app production and utilization process, and it is hoped that it will be used as a basic data for sales promotion by increasing customer satisfaction according to the rapidly changing consumption patterns of nail customers.

Statistical Simulation of Shift Force for a Manual Transmission

  • Statistical simulation approaches are proposed to evaluate the shift feeling for a manual transmission. First, shift force simulator for the manual transmission is developed by considering the dynamic models of the external and internal linkage, synchronizer, and drivetrain. It is found that the shift force by the simulator shows a good correlation with the test results. Using the simulator, two kinds of statistical simulation approaches are proposed and the objective parameters that can be used to evaluate the shift feeling quantitatively are obtained. It is expected that the shift force simulator with the statistical approaches, developed in this study can be used as a useful design tool to evaluate the shift feeling in the initial design stage.

Performance Comparison of Butterfly Joints between Manual Member and Pre-cut Member (수가공 및 기계가공 된 나비장 접합부의 성능 비교)

  • To modularize the joints of Hanok, the bending strengths of butterfly joints between pre-cut and manual member were compared. Structural size joints were manufactured and the length, width and thickness of each tenon were produced with different sizes. The ultimate load of pre-cut members was 2 times higher than that of manual members. Degree of anchorage for the joints on pre-cut member was also superior to that of manual member. By the F-test results, a great influence between ultimate load and sizes of tenon was found. In result of multiple regression analysis, the length and thickness of tenon were showed proportion relationships with the ultimate load, but the width of tenon was showed inverse proportion with the ultimate load. The results of this study can be used to identify the relationships among the major influence factors. Futhermore, it might be used as basic data for modularization the joints of Hanok.
