선박 초기설계단계에서 CFD를 이용한 천수 중 조종성능 추정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Estimation of Manoeuvring Performance in Shallow Water using CFD in Initial Ship Design Phase)

  • Analysis of ship's manoeuverability in shallow water is an important task from the perspective of the vessels' navigational safety. Since the number of ships operated in restricted water has increased due to the enlargement of vessels and ships represent different characteristics of the manoeuverability when operated in shallow and deep water, it is significant to evaluate ship manoeuverability at initial design stage. At the initial stage of design, the estimation of manoeuverability is generally performed with hydrodynamic coefficients estimated based on empirical formula. However, the accuracy of estimating hydrodynamic coefficients by the empirical formula in shallow water is poor compared to that in deep water. Therefore, the error in the estimation of manoeuverability increases in shallow water. In this study, CFD is proposed to improve the accuracy of manoeuverability in shallow water at the initial design stage and hydrodynamic coefficients were obtained based on PMM test in shallow water. Furthermore, the ship manoeuverability was estimated both the proposed strategy and the empirical formula. At last, validity of the proposed strategy using CFD for the estimation of manoeuverability was confirmed by comparison with the manoeuverability estimation results from model test.

  • In this paper, a free running system, which is developed recently for a 2m-class ship models, will be introduced. For the remote control of hardware, GUI of software packages was developed using Visual Basic 6.0, and Host PC with Positioning Board manages Servo drive. Then the drive operates propeller and rudder. Its control performance will be shown. Also its adaptability to the resistance, manoeuverability and seakeeping model tests will be considered through the installation on a KTTC standard ship model from MOERI.

실선시험에 의한 새바다호의 조종 성능에 관한 고찰 (A study on the manoeuvrability of T/S SAEBADA by real sea trials)

  • This study is intended to provide navigator with specific information necessary to assist in the avoidance of collision and in operation of ships to evaluate the manoeuvrability of own ship. The actual manoeuvering characteristics of ship can be adequately judged from the results of typical ship trials manoeuvres. Author carried out sea trials based full scale for turning test, zig-zag test, spiral tests and crash-stop test at actual sea going condition. The turning circle manoeuvres were performed on starboard and port sides with $35^{\circ}$ rudder angle at the service speed, and Zig-zag procedures were performed on both sides with $10^{\circ}$ and $20^{\circ}$ rudder angle respectively. Spiral tests were carried out on the both sides and crash stop test was also carried out. The results from tests could be compared directly with the standards of manoeuverability of IMO and consequently the manoeuvring qualities of the ship is fully satisfied with its.

  • 선박 성능과 항해 안전의 관점에서 선박조종 특성을 아는 것은 선박 설계에서 중요한 일이다. IMO 규정에 의하면 만재 적하된 even 조건(트림=0)에서 몇가지 선박 조종 기준이 제시되어 있다. 그러나 선박은 일반적으로 항상 만재 적재 조건으로 운항되지 않는다. 따라서 선박이 IMO 규정을 만족시키고, 모든 적재 조건에서 안전하게 항행하도록 하기 위해 다양한 적재 조건에서 선박 조종 특성을 추정해야 한다. 본 논문에서 우리는 실선 실험과 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 조종특성을 조사하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과와 비교하였을 때 실선실험은 시뮬레이션 값 및 이전 연구와 그 경향이 일치한다. 실 해역에서 얻은 조종실험 데이터가 선박 조종성능 추정에 활용 될 수 있음을 확인하였고, 실시한 실해역 실험을 통하여, 선박 운항 상태에 따른 조종성의 변화를 추정할 수 있었다.
