A Case Study of the Shaoyangin Mangyin Improved with Hyeongbangjiwhang-tang Mangyin-disease is important syndrome in Shaoyangin' pathology taking diarrhea, general weakness. We treated a 28 years old female patient who complained general weakness, diarrhea, and weight loss She responded well to treatment with Hyeongbangjiwhang-tang . So report it.

The irritable bowel syndrome(IBS) is the most common gastrointestinal disorder in clinical practice and is characterized by abdominal pain associated with a chronic disturbance of defecation. It is important to discriminate IBS from organic bowel disease. Based on clinical and epidemiologic studies, specific symptom criteria for IBS have been developed. The subject is a 29 year old man who has abdominal pain, chronic diarrhea, general weakness, dizziness, insomnia and has been diagnosed as irritable bowel syndrome. We classified this as Shaoyangin Mangyin(少陽人 亡陰證) and prescribed Hyeongbangjiwhangtang(荊防地黃湯) in accordance with the principle of pyoeumganggi(表陰降氣). In the result, we had the improvement of his symptoms.

Objectives This study was designed to report treatment of Soyangin Mangeum with gastroesophageal reflux disease. Methods We treated two patients suffering from dyspepsia and chest discomfort. A female patient was treated with Hyeongbangjiwhang-tang. A male patient was treated with Hyungbangsabaek-san. The progress was evaluated with the visual analogue scale for dyspepsia, chest discomfort, and other symptoms. Results A female patient's symptoms such as dyspepsia, chest discomfort were almost cured. but they increased with patient's emotional state repeatedly. A male patient' symptoms such as abdominal pain, dyspepsia, nausea, heart burn was successfully disappeared. Conclusions Hyeongbangjiwhang-tang and Hyungbangsabaek-san can be considered as a treatment for patient with Soyangin Mangyin diagnosed as gastroesophageal reflux disease.

The climacteric is the period of passage out of the reproductive stage of life and into the nonreproductive phase. The climacteric can be accompanied by wide-ranging, uncomfortable and disruptive symptoms. Symptoms that are related to hormonal changes include abnormal bleeding, facial flushing, and urogenital discomfort. This patient was 45- year-old woman who had headache, facial flushing, thirst, fatigue, irregular menstruation, urogenital discomfort and had been diagnosed and teated climacteric. We classified this patient as Soyangin(少陽人) Yin collapsed ease(亡陰證) and prescribed Hyeongbangsabaeksan(荊防瀉白散). We experienced the good effect of Hyeongbangsabaeksan on Soyangin Mangyin-disease We report the healing process and the result of treatment in this study.
