일본인 관광객의 숙박 후기 평점에 대한 관리자 응답의 조절효과 (Moderate Effects of Managerial Response on Hotel Ratings of Japanese Tourists)

  • Purpose - It is a very important issue for the Korean tourism industry to increase tourism revenue by attracting foreign tourists. Although Japanese tourists have been an important part of the Korean tourism industry for a long time, the level of tourist satisfaction including accommodation has been at the worst compared to other foreign visitors, which strongly requires concrete solutions. Therefore, this study focuses on improving the satisfaction level of Japanese visitors in the use of accommodation, and find out the influence of the managerial response. Research design, data, and methodology - In this study, customer review and managerial response of hotels in Seoul were collected from "Rakuten Travel" which is the most representative online travel agency in Japan. As a result of collecting data from 2016 to 2018, 6,190 customer reviews and 1,241 managerial responses from 120 hotels were used for analysis. In addition, information on the properties of 120 hotels, such as the number of rooms, classification, types of hotel facilities, types of room facilities, accessibility and prices, were collected. To test the hypotheses, moderated multiple regression analysis was conducted with SPSS 22.0. Results - It was found that only 25 sites, 20.8% of the total 120 sites, were implementing managerial response and average response rate was 66.42% among them. As a result of examining the main effects of the hotel attributes on the ratings, accessibility and price are confirmed as effective variables. We also found that the response rate has a significant moderate effect in both the accessibility and price. In other words, there was a significant difference in the influence of accessibility and price on the ratings depending on the response rate. Also, it was confirmed that the response rate is not a pure moderator variable but a quasi moderator variable. Overall, the evidences partially supported the hypothesis. Conclusion - It was possible to provide important suggestions to the hotel managers who were concerned about managing tourist satisfaction with accessibility problems. It was found that the accessibility problem could be overcome by increasing the response rate. It was also confirmed that high ratings can be more effectively achieved for high priced hotels by increasing the response rate.

Multivariate Analysis of Covariance on Characteristics Influencing Technological and Managerial Barriers of Technology Startups

  • This study investigated technological and managerial barriers in technology startups through a survey of 151 companies, yielding 118 responses (78.1% response rate). Factor and multivariate analyses identified two distinct barriers: technological and managerial. Reliability analysis validated the measurement tool. Using MANCOVA, 12 hypotheses were tested, incorporating six independent variables. Results revealed significant disparities in technological and managerial barriers based on establishment type, commercialization goals, growth stage, and commercialization stage, with 5 hypotheses supported. This study highlights the crucial role of these variables in understanding barriers within technology-based startups.

친환경농업 실천농가의 경영능력 진단 (Diagnosis of Managerial Ability of Farmers Practicing Environmental Friendly Agriculture)

  • This study diagnosed the managerial ability of farmers in the Gokseong area and the Gwangyang area, and analysis was conducted especially placing focus on the difference in managerial ability on whether environmental friendly agriculture has been implemented or not. According to the analysis results, the average score of all the farmers was 63.9 out of the full score of 100 which can be seen to be a medium to high standard. Also, in the diagnosis results according to whether environmental friendly agriculture has been implemented or not, the ability scores of farmers practicing environmental friendly agriculture were higher than those who were not, but large differences between the item scores for information ability and cooperative ability were shown. This is connoting a very important meaning in terms of the point that correspondence is being made to the conditions required to possess market response capabilities to the high information systemization society to unfold in the future. As a result, the important issue can be seen to be personnel cultivation in order to possess self response capabilities through the development of education programs that can improve this kind of managerial ability and revision of support systems.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the successful managerial strategy based on managerial failure in small apparel stores by using the qualitative research method. Data were collected by face to face interviews with 15 owners/managers who experienced failure in small business operation in January and February 2004. The entrepreneurship, supply chain management and managerial cleanness/QR(quick response) related weak management were shown to be important managerial points.

수간호사의 관리역량과 전문직 자율성 인식이 간호업무성과에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Head Nurses' Managerial Competencies and Professional Nurse Autonomy in Nursing Performance)

  • Purpose: The aim in this study was to identify head nurses' nursing performance according to their managerial competencies and professional nurse autonomy. Methods: From January 15 to January 31, 2013 a survey was distributed to 200 head nurses working in 5 tertiary hospitals in B city and J city. The response rate was 80% (160 responses). The survey content included the Managerial Competencies Scale (MCS), Schutzenhofer professional nurse autonomy Scale (SPNA), and Nursing Performance Scale (SPNA). Results: The score for MCS was 4.53, for SPNA, 177.05, and for SPNA, 4.62. Nursing performance was related to managerial competencies (${\beta}=0.741$; p<.001; SE=0.059) and professional autonomy (${\beta}=0.135$; p=.010; SE=0.001). These factors accounted for 64.8~67.3% of the variability in nursing performance. Conclusion: Results indicate that head nurses' performance would be improved through increased nursing managerial competencies and expansion of professional autonomy suggesting a need to develop work systems designed to achieve high managerial competency and professional autonomy in head nurses.

INCREASING REALISM OF CONSTRUCTION SIMULATION THROUGH INTEGRATION OF OPERATIONAL AND MANAGERIAL ASPECTS

  • Current construction simulation approaches mostly focus on operation aspects of construction projects, ignoring managerial aspects which can radically change operational profiles (e.g., number of resources, expected productivity level, or daily working hours) during the course of construction. As a result, these approaches may mislead construction managers into unrealistic execution plans as well as make them difficult to find potential performance improvement areas. As an effort to address this issue, this paper establishes a comprehensive construction modeling framework which integrates operational and managerial aspects of construction projects. The proposed modeling framework will provide construction managers with more accurate, more reliable, and more realistic simulation results thus reducing the likelihoods of schedule delays and cost overruns.

경영자로서 한의사 역량에 대한 교육요구도 분석 (The priority of education needs of the managerial competencies for Korean Medicine doctors)

  • Objective : This study aims to investigate the priority of education needs of managerial competencies for Korean Medicine doctors. Method : Self-administered questionnaires were sent via on-line survey system to 4,107 Korean Medicine (KM) doctors who were registered in the Association of Korean Medicine and whose business places were in Seoul. The cognition of necessities, present levels, and future importance of managerial competencies were measured. To measure the degree of educational needs on health management, t-test and Borich method were used. Results : The response rate was 1.9%(79 persons) and 68 responses were included in the analysis. The cost-effectiveness studying ability and the public relations ability were the most important competencies. Analyzing the competency groups by t-test and Borich method, the marketing group was the most important competency group. Many KM doctors (53 persons; 68.9%) who answered this questionnaire expressed needs of the business administration course. Conclusion : KM doctors conceded the necessity of business competency to manage their hospitals or clinics. Academic institutions needs to consider the implementation of business administration courses for KM students in accordance with needs of the managerial competencies.

부정적 리뷰의 대응 전략이 숙박시설 성공에 미치는 영향: 숙박 중개 플랫폼 사례 (The Impact of Managerial Response to Negative Customer Reviews on the Success of Accommodation Services: Evidence from Online Accommodation Reservation Platforms)

  • 최근 모바일 플랫폼 기반 비즈니스의 증가와 함께 온라인 숙박 예약 시장이 커지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 서비스 품질에 대한 불확실성이 높은 온라인 숙박 예약 플랫폼에서 부정적 리뷰의 대응 전략이 숙박 업체의 성공에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 국내 최대 숙박 예약 플랫폼에 등록된 856개의 모텔을 대상으로 호스트의 대응 전략의 숙박시설 성공에 대한 효과를 확인한 결과, 부정적 리뷰에 대한 호스트의 답변수가 많고(적극성), 답변 속도(적시성)가 빠를수록 성공에 정(+)의 영향을 주는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 두 가지 대응 전략에는 정(+)의 상호작용 효과가 있음을 보였다. 마지막으로 평판 하락에 따른 호스트의 대응 전략을 확인한 결과, 평판 하락 발생 시 부정적 리뷰에 대한 대응 적극성의 효과는 증가하였다. 본 연구는 숙박업체의 성공에 효과적인 호스트의 대응 전략을 규명하였으며, 평판 하락에 따른 호스트의 대응 전략의 효과성을 확인한 연구라는 점에서 학술적, 실무적 의의가 있다.

  • 국내 건설기업들은 최근 금융위기, 미분양 주택의 증가 등 외부적인 경영환경의 악화로 많은 어려움을 겪고 있다. 이러한 경영환경의 변화에 대처하기 위하여 기업은 환경의 변화에 신속하고 탄력적으로 적응할 수 있는 효율적인 경영조직의 구성이 필요하다. 그러나 대부분의 기업은 조직에 대한 분석과 이해가 부족하여 사업 물량과 유형에 따라 경영조직을 구성하고 있다. 국내 시공능력순위 30위 이내의 건설기업들 역시 서로 다른 경영조직과 사업구조를 가지고 있으며 또한 각기 다른 경쟁력과 위기요인도 가지고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 건설기업의 경영 및 조직현황을 조사하여 경영성과와 조직특성을 파악하고 효율적인 경영전략 수립과 기업의 경영조직을 구성하기 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다.

  • R&D is the core competence of an enterprise. Furthermore, R&D requires huge capital investment and has very risky characteristics. Therefore, to be successful in R&D process, several approaches of engineering economics are used prior to decision-making. Until now, typical approaches of engineering economics such as NPV(net present value) or DCF(Discounted cash flow) have been used. But, they cannot properly capture managerial flexibility to adapt and revise later decisions in response to unexpected market development. In a constantly changing and always uncertain marketplace, managerial operation flexibility and strategic adaptability have become vital in order to successfully capitalize on favorable future investment opportunities and limit losses from adverse market development. For the alternatives of conventional static decision-making approaches, new concept of using real options is introduced. Real option theory is based on financial option's characteristics and checks every revision interval whether situation have changed favorable to decision maker or not. In advantageous situation, the decision maker has only to go on. In contrast, with unfavorable situation, he abandons the investment immediately. In this aspect, real option model is more suitable in very uncertain and dynamic business environment in that it can provide the opportunity to cope with flexibility. This paper suggests efficient and effective R&D investment strategy by using real options model. In addition, this paper compares financial options and real options.
