The objectives of this study were to assess the current practices of implementing selective menus and to identify the perception of foodservice manager and customer on selective menus for hospital foodservice would be fulfilled. Two types of questionnaires for hospital foodservice managers as well as customers were developed. Questionnaires were distributed to managers of 8 hospital foodservice department and 317 customers of patient meal service, and 6 managers and 139 customers were responded. The data were analyzed using frequency and t-test. The results of this study can be summarized as follows : 1. In hospital foodservice operations, the selective menu pattern was first introduced by L hospital on June 1994 in Seoul and recently 8 hospitals were currently implementing selective menus. But using rate of selective menus by patients were relatively low(23.2%), ranging from 15% to 32%. 2. Customers' needs for selective menus were rated significantly higher in the group of patients(4.24/5) who chose the selective menus than their counterpart(3.88/5). 3. The main reason not choosing selective menus was identified by patients as 'not knowing the implementation of selective menus'(52.6%), inconvenient factors in using selective menus for customer were also identified as orders : 'lack of nutrition information on menu item'(38.6%), 'complexity in procedure'(29.8%), and 'lack of menu variety'(26.3%). However managers considered 'managerial burden' and 'limited human resource' as main obstacle to implement the selective menu pattern. 4. Customers indicated 'variety of menu', 'active public relations' as effective methods to enhance using rate of selective menus, however, foodservice manager indicated 'variety of menu'(50%), 'improvement of quality'(16.7%), and 'simplicity in procedure'(16.7%). Based on the results of this study, following recommendations have been suggested : Managers in patient meal service should recognize customer needs for implementing selective menus and pay more attention in implementing selective menus and activating this program. For more effective implementation of activating selective menu program, the foodservice department should establish action plan on 'active publicity work', 'simplicity in procedures', 'variety of menu' and 'improvement of quality'. Especially nutrition informations on meals should be provided for customers in order to elevate participation rate.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine factors affecting the burden on employment of occupational health care providers as well as to develop strategies to reduce burden on employment of them in the middle size manufacturing enterprises. Methods: The target population of this study was 123 managers working in the middle size manufacturing enterprises. The study questionnaires were selected, as theories and literature suggested, for explaining employment burden, general characteristics of participants and occupational health providers, general characteristics of companies, evaluation of occupational health provider's role and burden score. Results: The mean of employment burden score of manager was 2.2. There was a significant difference in the employment burden scores, manager's age and education, and occupational health provider's age, type of work, certification, and employment status. Also there was a negative relationship between employment burden scores and occupational health provider's role scores (need, role, satisfaction, and benefit). In the results of the standard multiple regression analysis, manager's need scores on occupational health providers were significant predictors of the employment burden scores. Conclusion: It is necessary to change the manager's perception to promote employment of occupational health providers.

Objectives: This study aimed to provide basic data for the improvement of the guidance services for the management of the workplace environment of the specialized health management institution, by making inquiries on the perception and extent of practice by health managers and workers in the workplace. Methods: Workplaces with officially noted environmental hazards of noise, organic compounds and/or dust-metals were selected in a South Korean metropolitan city in 2015. The workplace health managers(hereinafter referred to as 'manager') and workers at 97 workplace were interviewed. Managers are those who are in charge of health management at the corresponding workplace and the workers were subjected to in-depth interviews by sampling one worker for each of the workplace. Results: The majority of the managers acknowledged the guidance services of the specialized health management institution affirmatively. Regarding the extent of practice in accordance with the guidance on engineering improvement, only 23 managers(37.1%) responded. With respect to education, 40 managers(41.2%) responded that it was implemented along with 35 workers(36.1%) who responded that they received education, showing no significant difference between manager and worker. Regarding the actual wearing of the protective equipment, however, 83 of the manager(85.6%) insisted that workers wore the protective devices while only 44 workers(49.5%) responded that they actually wore the devices, thereby illustrating a significant difference between managers and workers. Conclusions: These results suggest the urgent necessity of improvement in the mechanism of guidance services of the specialized health management institution for the workplace environment management.

Representative domestic start-up support organizations include the Business Incubator(BI), Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development(KISED), Techno Park(TP), and Center of Creative Economy Innovation(CCEI), and there are about 260 Business incubator nationwide. The Business incubator is operated by universities, research institutes, and private foundations or associations. The organization consists of the center director and the incubating professionals (hereinafter referred to as "manager"), etc., and performs tasks such as center operation management and incubation support services for tenant companies. Until now, research on the operation of Business Incubator has been mainly focused on the performance of tenant companies. Studies on whether the manager's competency characteristics directly or indirectly affect the performance of the tenant companies through psychological mediators such as self-efficacy and organizational commitment were very scarce. The purpose of this study is to explore various factors influencing organizational commitment and job performance by the competence characteristics of Business incubator managers, and to explain the causal relationship among those factors. In particular, the difference in perception was investigated by a manager's survey that influences organizational commitment and work performance at the Business incubator. Through this, we intend to present practical implications for the role of managers in the operation of Business incubators. This study is an exploratory study, and the subject of the study was a survey of about 600 managers working at Business incubator nationwide, of which 116 responses were analyzed. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis, and reliability. Structural equation model analysis was performed for hypothesis tests. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the cognitive characteristics of the Business incubator manager, communication, and situational response as the behavioral characteristics had a positive effect on the manager's self-efficacy, and the behavioral characteristics had a greater effect on the self-efficacy. It was also found that the manager's cognitive and behavioral characteristics, and self-efficacy had a positive effect on organizational commitment and work performance. In particular, a manager's self-efficacy has a positive effect on organizational commitment and work performance. This result showed that the manager's competency characteristics increase the manager's self-efficacy as a mediating factor rather than directly affecting organizational commitment and work performance. This study explains that the manager's competency characteristics are transferred to organizational commitment and work performance. The results of the study are expected to reflect the job standard of the National Competency Standards (NCS) and basic vocational competency to the job competency of managers, and it also provides a guideline for the effective business incubator operation in terms of human resource management. In practice, it is expected that the results of the study can reflect the vocational basic skills of the Business Incubator manager's job competency in the National Competency Standards(NCS) section, and suggest directions for the operation of the Business Incubator and the manager's education and training.
Purpose: The study examines how emotional leadership affects employee attitude towards work engagement. Leader legitimacy perception is chosen as the mediating variable to understand the effect of emotional leadership on employee work engagement. Research design, data and methodology: The research model is based on theory and empirical research findings in order to examine the mediating effect of leader legitimacy perception on the relationship between the manager's emotional leadership and employee work engagement. For this purpose, a survey was conducted among 188 employees of domestic retail distributors. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and survey data confirmed the construct, and the hypothesis was tested by using structural equation modeling (SEM). Results: a) Emotional leadership has positive influence on leader legitimacy; b) Leader legitimacy is positively related to work engagement; c) Leader legitimacy mediates a positive relationship between emotional leadership and work engagement. However, there is no direct effect on work engagement (of employees) from emotional leadership standpoint. Conclusion: Based on the empirical results, implications and future research directions are discussed.

The purpose of this study is to examine impacts of servant leadership perception of dental hygienists on organizational commitment, job satisfaction and turnover intention as strong predictors of turnover rate. These data were collected from the structured questionnaire survey, from April 1 through April 30, 2011, to 383 people among those in the field of dental hygiene affairs, working for nine dental hospitals or twenty-four dental clinic under two dental university hospital in capital area. The principal findings of this research are as below; First, servant leadership perception had a significantly positive influence on job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Also servant leadership perception of dental hygienists had a significantly negative influence on turnover intention. Second, job satisfaction and organizational commitment of dental hygienists has a negative influence on turnover intention. Third, servant leadership perception of dental hygienists were revealed as a meaningful effects ones on job satisfaction and organizational commitment, but they didn't have meaningful effect on turnover intention. However, we can understand that servant leadership perception have indirect effect on turnover intention via job satisfaction and organizational commitment. This result indicates that the managers of dental hospital and clinic should perceive that the consistent management effort to improve servant leadership can increase job satisfaction, and finally will increase the organizational commitment that means the loyalty to organization. In short, hospital operators and managers should examine each manager's qualification, type and style of leadership in the hospital organization, and they must develop lasting programs for effective education and training for developing characteristics of leadership are in needed to have managers with appropriate managerial mind to respective post and status.
Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the effects of rehabilitation hospital nurses' perception of patient safety culture, nursing professionalism, and nursing work environment on patient safety nursing activities. Methods: A cross-sectional design was used with a convenience sample of 230 nurses with more than six months of experience working in rehabilitation hospitals located in D Metropolitan City, South Korea. Data were collected from October 23 to 31, 2023 through a self-administered questionnaire and analyzed by descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA with post-verification of Scheffé test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple stepwise regression analysis using SPSS 28.0. Results: The average scores were 3.73±0.35 for perception of patient safety culture, 3.54±0.47 for nursing professionalism, 2.67±0.49 for nursing work environment, and 4.68±0.45 for patient safety nursing activities. Patient safety nursing activities was significantly positively correlated with perception of patient safety culture, nursing professionalism, and nursing work environment. Experience of reporting incidents (β=.19, p=.002), communication and procedure (β=.18, p=.003), frequency of reporting (β=.18, p=.002), total clinical experience (β=.17, p=.004), patient safety (β=.17, p=.005), and direct supervisor/manager (β=.17, p=.008) affected patient safety nursing activities in rehabilitation hospitals. Conclusion: Perception of patient safety culture may increase rehabilitation hospital nurses' patient safety nursing activities.
The purpose of this study was to identify the perception on social mix of managers and residents in the mixed housing complexes for sale and rental apartment. For the research purpose, concept and background of social mix, relevant policies, preceding research trend of social mix were organized through the literature analysis. In addition, observation study was executed to examine physical aspects of three selected sites as research subjects. Also, current state and awareness for social mix were conducted by using in-depth interview with 6 managers and 30 residents in selected areas with semi-structured questionnaires from June 3 to 7, 2013. The results of the study are as following: In the aspect of management, managers said that the biggest issue of mix-housing complex was dualization of management subject such as delegate of residents and tenants. Therefore, legislation which is suitable for unique features of mix-housing complex is required. To decrease disharmony between condominium and rental apartment, controlling the distribution ratio between condominium and rental apartment can be a good way. Accommodating middle class in mixed-housing complex is considered to reduce the social gap. Socially, multilateral and continuous effort through government, industry and academic area is required to inspire positive awareness on social mix among residents in mixed housing complex.

With the rise in the functions required in modern building structures, the role of the building equipment that maintains the functions of a building has been emphasized and increased. Effective management in this area is only possible when the construction manager (CMr) is qualified and has the knowledge of building equipment that is needed. Therefore, in this study, a questionnaire survey was carried out on equipment engineers and CMrs, in order to determine the level of building equipment knowledge required, and to identify the perception level of CMrs about the building equipment in the construction project at the project design stage. The results of this study revealed that the CMrs surveyed had a lower level of knowledge on the building equipment than the level that was desired by the equipment engineers. This indicates that CMrs currently have a weak capacity for the management of building equipment. It is thus necessary for CMrs to undergo systematic training in order learn more about building equipment and thus be able to manage construction projects more efficiently.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of information system factors and organizational factors on procedural management performance in small and medium-sized venture companies in the Seoul metropolitan area. In the previous study was conducted mainly on large companies and general SMEs. In this study, the research was conducted considering the characteristics of SMEs. The results showed that system suitability, system quality, and IT assets had a positive effect on procedural management performance, and manager perception and human resource capacity had a positive effect on procedural management performance. But the evaluation and compensation did not have a positive effect on procedural management performance. The results of this study showed almost the same results as those of the previous studies. Venture firms have poor financial ability, technology, and organizational management ability than general SMEs. However, the introduction and diffusion factors of new information systems were not significantly different from those of general SMEs.
