  • This paper proposes a policy-based quality of service (QoS) management framework for adaptive routing decisions. We present an approach considering interior gateway protocol (IGP) for path discovery mechanisms and QoS-aware policies for configuring the network elements. The integration of the aforementioned modules into this policy-based network management (PBNM) system is demonstrated by conducting experiments in a real environment, the hellenic public administration network SYZEFXIS. These experiments combine different traffic conditioning mechanisms through event detectors, consider IP service level agreement mechanisms that interoperate with the PBNM system and analyze the enforcement of IGP and QoS policies. Finally, validation and measurement tools are used to prove the efficiency of this framework. It is shown that this architecture offers significantly increased performance and learning capabilities, while the PBNM system achieves adaptive QoS routing through automated configuration considering the avoidance of suboptimal routing issues or under-performance conditions of the network entities.

  • With the growing usage of the networks, the world-wide Internet has become the main means to exchange data and carry out transactions. It has also become the main means to attack hosts. To solve the security problems which occur in the network such as Internet, we import software products of network security elements like an IDS (Intrusion Detection System) and a firewall. In this paper, we have designed and constructed the general simulation environment of network security model composed of multiple IDSes and a firewall which coordinate by CNP (Contract Net Protocol) for the effective detection of the intrusion. The CNP, the methodology for efficient integration of computer systems on heterogeneous environment such as distributed systems, is essentially a collection of agents, which cooperate to resolve a problem. Command console in the CNP is a manager who controls the execution of agents or a contractee, who performs intrusion detection. In the network security model, each model of simulation environment is hierarchically designed by DEVS(Discrete Event system Specification) formalism. The purpose of this simulation is that the application of rete pattern-matching algorithm speeds up the inference cycle phases of the intrusion detection expert system and we evaluate the characteristics and performance of CNP architecture with rete pattern-matching algorithm.

  • Background: Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) including laser acupuncture (LA) has been widely used to treat chronic low back pain (CLBP), but there is no critically appraised evidence of the potential benefits. The purpose of this protocol for a systematic review was to enable the evaluation of the effectiveness of LLLT including LA for non-specific CLBP to identify the potential benefits. Methods: The electronic databases MEDLINE (PubMed), Embase (Ovid), the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), Korean medical databases (KoreaMed, KMBASE, KISS, NDSL, KISTI, OASIS), the Chinese database (CNKI), and Japanese databases (CiNII, J-STAGE) are recommended. Results: Randomized controlled trials in LLLT including LA should be included in the searches. All data synthesis and subgroup analyses should be conducted using a Review Manager software. The Cochrane risk of bias tool can be used to evaluate methodological quality of the studies. A risk ratio or mean difference with a 95% confidence interval will show the effects of LLLT including LA. Conclusion: The primary outcome would be pain intensity and functional status/disability due to low back pain. The secondary outcome would be a global measurement of recovery or improvement, quality of life and adverse event.

  • Currently a number of managers exist to manage heterogeneous networks, in this situation, the NETCONF protocol for efficient network management has been proposed as a new protocol. However, the standard NETCONF protocol stack continuous improvement since the establishment but in four layers still have some problems. Especially in situations where there are multiple administrators, problems are more highlighted in operation layer. In this paper, we focus on these issues and the Operation layer has improved the efficiency and flexibility of operations among NETCONF four layers. Additionally, for the inefficiency of updates improved the device settings based on improved operation techniques. In addition, standard protocol NETCONF did not proposed content layer data structure and we propose standard technique of content layer that can generate configuration structure of devices. Improved the three techniques are applied appropriately to the NETCONF, the proposed method and the existing NETCONF was performed experiment to compare with experimental four factors. Compare key factor are four kind as maintaining the probability of network function, the reaction performance about command, the number of control packets, performance of data creation in content layer. Such factors after performing the experiment, the proposed method in this paper is superior to the existing NETCONF and there was confirmed by analysis Experimental results.

  • In this paper, we discuss the design and implementation of a concurrency control manager for a main memory DBMS(MMDBMS). Since an MMDBMS, unlike a disk-based DBMS, performs all of data update or retrieval operations by accessing main memory only, the portion of the cost for concurrency control in the total cost for a data update or retrieval is fairly high. Thus, the development of an efficient concurrency control manager highly accelerates the performance of the entire system. Our concurrency control manager employs the 2-phase locking protocol, and has the following characteristics. First, it adapts the partition, an allocation unit of main memory, as a locking granule, and thus, effectively adjusts the trade-off between the system concurrency and locking cost through the analysis of applications. Second, it enjoys low locking costs by maintaining the lock information directly in the partition itself. Third, it provides the latch as a mechanism for physical consistency of system data. Our latch supports both of the shared and exclusive modes, and maximizes the CPU utilization by combining the Bakery algorithm and Unix semaphore facility. Fourth, for solving the deadlock problem, it periodically examines whether a system is in a deadlock state using lock waiting information. In addition, we discuss various issues arising in development such as mutual exclusion of a transaction table, mutual exclusion of indexes and system catalogs, and realtime application supports.

  • The self-healing key distribution scheme with revocation capability proposed by Staddon et al. enables a dynamic group of users to establish a group key over an unreliable network, and has the ability to revoke users from and add users to the group while being resistant to collusion attacks. In such a protocol, if some packet gets lost, users ale still capable of recovering the group key using the received packets without requesting additional transmission from the group manager. In this scheme, the storage overhead at each group member is O($m^2$1og p) and the broadcast message size of a group manager is O( ((m$t^2$+mt)log p), where m is the number of sessions, t is the maximum number of colluding group members, and p is a prime number that is large enough to accommodate a cryptographic key. In this paper we describe the more efficient self-healing key distribution scheme with revocation capability, which achieves the same goal with O(mlog p) storage overhead and O(($t^2$+mt)log p) communication overhead. We can reduce storage overhead at each group member and the broadcast message size of the group manager without adding additional computations at user's end and group manager's end.

  • This paper proposes an integrated system for interworking different network management protocols. The interworking system between SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) and CMIP(Common Management Information Protocol) has been designed. We defined new managed object architecture using MOVI(Managed Object View Interface) concept and implemented an extended GDMO(EGDMO) compiler. An access mechanism for consistency control and atomic action on the sharing resources has been defined. Thus, even if a new management protocol would be introduced, new gateway system need not to be redesigned. It can be achieved with minimum modification of the view interface of managed objects. As a managed object can support various view interfaces, several network management protocols can directly access it. This approach, therefore, provides some benefits. For instance, manager can access managed objects without additional functions and tools. Ti, also, could be achieved interworking between SNMP and CMIP with minimum modification on the view interface of the managed objects defined previously. It is able to interwork more complicated network management protocols and to increase usefulness of SNMP and CMIP.

  • Data transfer technique is one of the key elements of the IT infrastructure, in accordance with each environment and function, using some kind of protocol. Using the three protocols such as WCDMA, AIS, and TRS at sea IT industry. so It uses three protocols saw has a problem that the operation of each protocol-specific server. so server maintenance costs increase and sea Device Manager has been placed in a situation which operates to develop each of the protocol-specific analysis program. The reason of the protocol is divided into three, marine equipment (lighthouses, buoys, light buoy) manufacturing companies and the date of manufacture, such as, communication environment (distance, communication speed) because such is wrong all, trying to unify this and enormous cost and time is a situation that can not be the exchange occurred when. So in the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, the number of frequency of use is low, communication performance is seeking to refrain from Kure each local organizations and companies the use of low TRS protocol. his paper is intended to conduct research on the basis of the actual data to analyze whether the method is how economical to store a single DB by analyzing other types of protocols. This reduces the shortage of marine IT industry, even a little, shall helps reduce administrative costs.

  • XML-based network management, which applies XML technologies to network management, has been proposed as an alternative to existing network management. The use of XML in network management offers many advantages. However, most existing network devices are already embedded with simple network management protocol (SNMP) agents and managed by SNMP managers. For integrated network management, we present the architectures of an XML-based manager, an XML-based agent, and an XML/SNMP gateway for legacy SNMP agents. We describe our experience of developing an XML-based network management system (XNMS), XML-based agent, and an XML/SNMP gateway. We also verify the effectiveness of our XML-based agent and XML/SNMP gateway through performance tests. Our experience with developing XNMS and XML-based agents can be used as a guideline for development of XML-based management systems that fully take advantage of the strengths of XML technologies.
