  • Science mapping is a visual representation of the structure and dynamics of scholarly knowledge. Gas adsorption on catalyst supports is a crucial process in many catalytic reactions. The R package "Bibliometrix" and VosViewer software were employed for science mapping analysis. The results show that the upward trend but fluctuates from year to year for both annual scientific production and average article citations per year. Co-occurrence of the keywords were used to identify the primary fields of study and to map the existing state of research. Trending topics reveal some interesting features that support the growth of research in this field and are associated with emerging disciplines or areas of study that have not been extensively explored.

  • Due to the recent development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), the amount of research publications has increased exponentially. In response to this rapid growth, the demand of automated text processing methods has risen to deal with massive amount of text data. Biomedical text mining discovering hidden biological meanings and treatments from biomedical literatures becomes a pivotal methodology and it helps medical disciplines reduce the time and cost. Many researchers have conducted literature-based discovery studies to generate new hypotheses. However, existing approaches either require intensive manual process of during the procedures or a semi-automatic procedure to find and select biomedical entities. In addition, they had limitations of showing one dimension that is, the cause-and-effect relationship between two concepts. Thus;this study proposed a novel approach to discover various relationships among source and target concepts and their intermediate concepts by expanding intermediate concepts to multi-levels. This study provided distinct perspectives for literature-based discovery by not only discovering the meaningful relationship among concepts in biomedical literature through graph-based path interference but also being able to generate feasible new hypotheses.

  • This study is intended for implementing the system environment that can help integrate and retrieve various types of data in real-time by providing semantic interoperability among distributed heterogeneous information systems. The semantic interoperability is made possible by providing a TMDR(Topicmaps Metadata Registry), a set of ontologies. TMDR, which has been made by combining MDR(MetaData Registry) and TopicMaps and storing them in the database, is able to generate distributed query and provide efficient knowledge. MDR is a metadata management technique for distributed data management. TopicMaps is an ontology representation technique that takes into consideration the hierarchy and association for accessing knowledge data. We have created TMDR, a kind of ontology, that is fit for any system and able to detect and resolve semantic conflicts on the level of data and schema. With this system we propose a query-processing technique to integrate and access heterogeneous information sources. Unlike existing retrieval methods this makes possible efficient retrieval and reasoning by providing association focusing on subjects.

  • The success of social networking sites (SNSs) may depend on many factors. Continuance use of SNSs is one of these. Especially, in the Web environment where users can leave one service with a single mouse click, maintaining existing members cost much time and efforts. Without continuance use of SNSs, SNS-based service would not create any value. This study focused on identifying factors influencing users' continuance intention in SNSs. Based on relevant literature review, six influencing factors were initially identified. They were reputation, relational capital, knowledge quality, compatibility, personalization, and satisfaction. Web-based questionnaire survey was conducted and a total of 325 usable responses were collected. Reliability test and two rounds of exploratory factor analyses resulted in identifying five factors. The relationship between the factors and the continuance intention was tested by using multiple regression analyses. The analyses revealed that satisfaction was the most significant factor. Knowledge quality and relational capital also had significant effects while reputation and personalization did not have significant effect on continuance intention. Instead, reputation and personalization showed significance in influencing satisfaction.

  • We propose a novel technique to categorize XML documents and extract a concept efficiently using domain ontology. First, we create domain ontology that use text mining technique and statistical technique. We propose a DScore technique to classify XML documents by using the structural characteristic of XML document. We also present TScore technique to extract a concept by comparing the association term set of domain ontology and the terms in the XML document. To verify the efficiency of the proposed technique, we perform experiment for 295 papers in the computer science area. The results of experiment show that the proposed technique using the structural information in the XML documents is more efficient than the existing technique. Especially, the TScore technique effectively extract the concept of documents although frequency of term is few. Hence, the proposed concept-based retrieval techniques can be expected to contribute to the development of an efficient ontology-based knowledge management system.

  • Due to the social distancing in the Corona era, people are looking for an alternative online. As 'eXtended Reality' including various technologies, AR, VR and so on, is also on the rise, and the 'MZ' generation is growing to a new consumer group, the Meta-Verse is again in the spotlight. However, existing studies related to the Meta-Verse were mostly listing fragments of definition and classification or focused on eXtended Reality technologies and a subordinate concept. Hence, this study wold like to conduct an empirical analysis to verify influences of Metaverse's characteristic factors over word-of-mouth intention through flow and satisfaction.

  • Cognitive presence, a sense of "being there" cognitively, has recently been considered as an important indicator for students' engagement in e-learning. There is, however, no widely accepted scale to measure the level of cognitive presence since most studies have put their effort to set and clarify the conceptual framework with qualitative methodology. This study reviewed existing theories on cognitive presence and related fields extensively and developed a new self-report scale for measuring the conceived level of cognitive presence. The reliability and validity of the scale was tested against 723 undergraduate students in two consecutive studies, 418 in the preliminary and 305 in the follow-up study. Three major constructs to measure the perceived level of cognitive presence were: 1) clear understanding, 2) knowledge construction, and 3) learning management. This paper reports the final results of the two independent studies.

  • Percutaneous nephrostomy is relatively safe for temporary urinary diversion. However, colonic perforation due to percutaneous nephrostomy can happen with an incidence of 0.2% as reported in the English literatures. To our knowledge, this is the first case being reported as a complication following treatment for traumatic renal injury. This paper is to share our treatment approach which differs from the usual approach according to existing literatures. We report on a young man who sustained grade IV renal injury due to blunt trauma and was managed conservatively. The treatment of traumatic renal injury via urinary diversion was complicated with an iatrogenic colonic perforation. The management and subsequent treatment of this patient is discussed in this case report.

  • DNA microarray data analysis is a new technology to investigate the expression levels of thousands of genes simultaneously. Since DNA microarray data structures are various and complicative, the data are generally stored in databases for approaching to and controlling the data effectively. But we have some difficulties to analyze and control the data when the data are stored in the several database management systems or that the data are stored to the file format. The existing analysis tools for DNA microarray data have many difficult problems by complicated instructions, and dependency on data types and operating system. In this paper, we design and implement network-based analysis tool for obtaining to useful information from DNA microarray data. When we use this tool, we can analyze effectively DNA microarray data without special knowledge and education for data types and analytical methods.
