입원 환자의 욕창예방과 중재를 위한 알고리즘 개발 (Development of an Algorithm for the Prevention and Management of Pressure Ulcers)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop an algorithm for preventing and managing of pressure ulcer and to verify the its appropriateness. Methods: The first step was development of a pre-algorithm through a literature review and expert opinion. The second step was to establish content validity by submitting the algorithm questionnaires about the content to 12 experts. The third step was the revision of the algorithm. The fourth and last step was to establish the clinical validity of the algorithm with 25 experienced nurses. Results: For the ease of the practitioner the algorithm for prevention and the management of pressure ulcers was confined to one page depicting the main algorithm pathway and seven stepwise guidelines. The guidelines included skin care of pressure ulcer prevention, mechanical loading care, support surface care, reposition care of pressure ulcer, and Stages II, III and IV explanations along with debridement/wound irrigation and infection control. Most of all algorithm courses chosen more than 80% of agreement by expert index of content validity. The usefulness, appropriateness, and convenience of the algorithm were demonstrated through clinical validity with intensive care unit and ward nurses. Conclusion: The algorithm will improve the quality of pressure ulcer nursing care as it provides a model for decision making for clinical nurses as well as providing consistent and integrated nursing care for patients with pressure ulcer throughout an institution.

  • To enhance tracking efficiency, a target-tracking filter with a resource management algorithm is required. One of the resource management algorithms chooses or evaluates the proper sampling time using cost functions which are related to the target tracking filter. We propose a resource management algorithm for bearing only tracking environments. Since the tracking performance depends on the system observability, the bearing-only tracking is one of challenging target-tracking fields. The proposed algorithm provides the adaptive sampling time using the variation rate of the error covariance matrix from the target-tracking filter. The simulation verifies the efficiency performance of the proposed algorithm.

  • In real-time electricity price environment, the energy management system can provide the significant advantage to the residential, commercial and industrial customers since it can reduce the electricity charge by controlling the load operation effectively in response to time-varying price. However, the earlier studies for load management mainly focus on the residential and commercial customers except for the industrial customers because most of load operations in industrial sector are intimately related with production schedule. So, it is possible that the inappropriate control of loads in industrial sector causes huge economic loss. In this paper, therefore, we propose load control algorithm for factory energy management system(F-EMS) to achieve not only minimizing the electricity charges but also maintaining production efficiency by considering characteristics of load operation and production schedule. Considering characteristics of load operation and production schedule, the proposed load control algorithm can reflect the various characteristics of specific industrial customer and control their loads within the range that the production efficiency is maintained. Simulation results show that the proposed load control algorithm for F-EMS leads to significant reduction in the electricity charges and peak power in industrial sector.

  • As express courier market expands rapidly, companies are exposed to fierce competition. To cope with struggle for their survival, they are continuously making efforts to improve their service system. Even if most of service centers are directly linked to a consolidation terminal in courier service network, some of them with regional disadvantages are operated in milk run type from/to the consolidation terminal, which is a traditional PDP (Pick-up and Delivery Problem). This study suggests an approach to solve the PDP with the objective of maximizing the incremental profit, which belongs to PTP (Profitable Tour Problem) class. After the PTP is converted to TSP (Traveling Salesman Problem) with the same objective, a heuristic algorithm based on GA (Genetic Algorithm) is developed and examined through an example problem in practice of a courier service company in Korea.

An Online Buffer Management Algorithm for QoS-Sensitive Multimedia Networks

  • In this letter, we propose a new online buffer management algorithm to simultaneously provide diverse multimedia traffic services and enhance network performance. Our online approach exhibits dynamic adaptability and responsiveness to the current traffic conditions in multimedia networks. This approach can provide high buffer utilization and thereby improve packet loss performance at the time of congestion.

  • Wireless LAN systems have been widely implemented for supporting the wireless internet services especially in the hotspot areas such as hospitals, homes, conference rooms, and so on. Compared with wired LAN systems, wireless LAN systems have the advantages of the users' mobility support and low implementation and maintenance costs. IEEE 802.11 wireless LAN systems employ the backoff algorithm to avoid contentions among STAs when two or more STAs attempt to transmit their data frames simultaneously. The MAC efficiency can be improved if the CW values are adaptively changed according to the channel state of IEEE 802.11 wireless LANs. In this paper, a dynamic contention window control algorithm is proposed using the genetic algorithm to improve the MAC throughput of IEEE 802.11 wireless LANs.

선형판별분석에서 MCMC다중대체법의 효율에 관한 연구 (A Study on the efficiency of the MCMC multiple imputation In LDA)

  • This thesis studies two imputation methods, the MCMC method and the EM algorithm, that take care of the problem. The performance of the two methods for the linear (or quadratic) discriminant analysis are evaluated under various types of incomplete observations. Based on simulated experiments, the effect of the imputation using the EM algorithm and the MCMC method are evaluated and compared in terms of the probability of misclassification and the RMSE. This is done for the various cases of incomplete observations. The cases are differentiated by missing rates, sample sizes, and distances between two classification groups. The studies show that the probability of misclassification and the RMSE of the EM algorithm method is lower than the MCMC method. Therefore the imputation using the EM algorithm is more efficient than the MCMC method. And the probability of misclassification of the method that all vectors of observations with missing values are omitted from analysis is lower than the EM algorithm and the MCMC method when the samples size is small and the rate of missing values is extremely big.

  • 최근 ATM 포럼에서 새로운 서비스 클래스인 GFR을 제안하였다. GFR 서비스는 TCP/IP 와 같은 "best-effort" 트래픽을 서비스하기 위해서 고안되었다. GFR 서비스는 VC의 최소 수율을 보장하고, 잉여 대역을 연결된 VC에 공평히 제공하여야 한다. 본 논문에서는 GFR이 요구하는 최소 전송율 보장과 공평성을 제공하기 위해서 Leaky-bucket기반의 버퍼 관리 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 버퍼 관리 알고리즘은 실제 구현이 용이하도록 Leaky-bucket의 프로세싱 부하와 구현 복잡도를 줄였다.

A Study on Control and Monitoring System for Building Energy Management System

  • Building energy saving is one of the most important issues in these days. Control algorithm for energy saving should be designed properly to reduce power consumption in building. Recently, building energy system consists of hybrid energy system coupling with RE (Renewable Energy) source. In this paper, an optimum control algorithm for building energy saving is applied to BEMS (Building Energy Management System) by using an outdoor air temperature prediction strategy. BEMS coupling with renewable energy can control HVAC (Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning) system effectively. In order to verify the effectiveness of building energy saving, BEMS was tested for several months at a laboratorial chamber with an air conditioner, fan and heater. To this end BEMS embedded control algorithm has been tested successfully.

  • In this study, developed economical and scientific Pavement Management System(PMS) that can produce suitable maintenance method through judgement and analysis of pavement condition exactly, to overcome past unscientific pavement management limitations. First, on the basis of data of the inside and outside of the country on PMS, composed logical algorithm such as pavement condition investigation and analysis, detailed naked eye investigation, whole system estimation etc., and it verified that this algorithm is suitable system through the inside and outside of the country PMS research examples and results of detailed naked eye investigation. Also, developed easily usable PMS program and PMS_GIS program with such logical algorithm.
