Development of Welding Index Table for FD Fan Impeller (임펠러 용접용 인덱스 테이블의 개발)

  • This study is regarding development of an index table for antomation of welding process in impeller fabrication. A PLC, which is widely used for automation in industry, was also adopted as a controller for the index table because of it effectiveness, easy maintenance and repair. The index table consists of centering jig, blade jig, workbench, driving system and a controller. A touch screen was also prepaired as a man-machine interface to provide convenience for workers. Water jacket was installed inside the workbench to reduce thermal stress come from the welding. Temperature of the water jacket was kept constant to cool an impeller main plate effectively. The index table developed in this study convinces that it reduces the total welding time by 50% compared with the conventional process without the table.

  • 발전소 운전원 훈련용 시슈레이터 개발시 제어로직과 MMI(Man Machine Interface)의 화면개발은 많은 인력과 시간이 수반되는 일이지만 일일이 코딩을 하여만 실제 제어기능을 구현할 수 있다. 하동화력발전소 운전원 훈련용 시뮬레이터에서는 제어시스템 개발의 생산성과 신뢰도를 향상시키기 위해 번역기를 개발하여 현장에서 사용중인 제어파일을 일시에 번역하여 시뮬레이터에 적용하는 방법을 적용하고 있다. 이 논문에서는 하동화력 DCS인 Siemens Control에 적합한 제어 번역기의 개발과정을 서술한다. 번역기를 통한 제어시스템의 모델링 방법은 첨단제어 시스템의 기존 기능을 그대로 유지할 수가 있게 되어 제어기술자의 훈련 및 제어로직 개발 그리고 분석이 가능하며, 이를 통하여 운전원 훈련효과를 제고할 수 있고 실제 제어시스템과 완벽한 호환성을 유지함으로써 시뮬레이터의 정확성을 보증할 수 있게 된다.

  • Microchip사의 PIC Family 계열 마이크로프로세서 PIC16C74A를 이용하여 다수의 모터를 on/off 제어하는 컨트롤 보드의 제작과 함께 RS-485 Multi-drop 통신을 이용하여 분산제어 할 수 있는 프로토콜의 선정 및 상위 단 제어 솔루션 개발을 하였다. 프로그램은 하위단 컨트롤보드의 ASM과 함께 Visual BASIC 및 $C^{++}$을 이용하여 상위단 MMI(Man-Machine Interface)를 설계하였다. 본 연구는 여러 개의 장치를 on/off 제어할 수 있는 분산제어네트워크를 경제적으로 설계함으로써 상용화 가능하다는 장점이 있다.

  • 디지틀 중심의 원자로 제어시스템 설계에서 소프트웨어 안전성이 중요한 현안으로 부각되고 있다. 컴퓨터기반의 디지틀시스템으로 설계되는 일체형원자로 MMIS에 적용하기 위한 소프트웨어 개발 계획은 이러한 현안을 만족하기 위해 개발할 필요가 있다. 본 논문은 소프트웨어 개발 계획을 소프트웨어 수명주기 설정, 정형화 기법 적용, 위해서도 분석 수행, 소프트웨어 시험 방법을 제시하였다. 본 논문에서 제시된 소프트웨어 개발 계획은 고품질의 소프트웨어 생산을 보장하며, 원자력 규제기관에서 요구하는 소프트웨어 안전성 보장 계획에 대한 규제사항을 만족한다. 본 논문의 소프트웨어 개발 계획을 바탕으로 추후 구체적인 수행방법, 지침, 절아, 문서화 등의 점차적으로 개발되어 일체형원자로 MMIS 소프트웨어 개발시 적용할 예정이다.

  • A new small humanoid robot system is developed in this paper. The humanoid robot has total 20 DOFs : 6 DOFs in each legs, 3 DOFs in each arms, and 2 DOFs in head, 34cms in height, and 2kgs in weight. The robot has the following characteristics: (1) PDA as host controller (2) network-based joint controller (3) wireless camera attached in robot's head (4) mechanism design by CATIA and high speed laser prototyping (5) graphic MMI(Man-Machine Interface) utilizing the CATIA data. By using ADXL inclination sensor, we implement the rope swing with the robot leg motion as well as walking.

  • 발전소 보일러 제어시스템 관련 기술은 분산처리 소프트웨어 기술, 네트워크기술, MMI(Man Machine Interface) 기술, 실시간 처리기술, 데이터베이스 기술, 하드웨어 개발기술 등을 총 망라하는 복합기술로써, 선진국들이 기술이전을 기피하는 고급기술이다. 현재 국내에서 사용하고 있는 발전소 보일러 제어시스템은 전부가 Bailey, ABB, Siemens, Westinghouse 사 등의 외국설비로써 보일러 본체와 일괄계약형태로 제어시스템 전체가 외국회사의 설계에 의해서 도입 설치되어 운용되고 있다. 이러한 상황에서 국산 제어시스템의 개발기술 확보와 기술자립 차원에서 오래된 아날로그 제어시스템을 디지털 분산제어시스템으로의 개체작업에 국산 개발 제어시스템을 중용량 석탄화력발전소에 최초로 실용화 적용하고 그 적용사례를 본 논문에서 소개한다.

  • During transients or major upsets, operators of a nuclear power plant are faced with a significant amount of information which oftentimes exceeds their capability of processing information in such a time-critical situation. To help resolve this problem of information overload, considerable work is underway worldwide to improve its man-machine interface systems (MMISs). The I&C research team of KAERI is developing a DYNamic Alarm processing System, called DYNAS, to suppress unnecessary or nuisance alarms, and at the same time, emphasize vital information. This paper describes our basic strategy to process alarms in DYNAS.

Development and Application of Power System Stability Analysis Program Using OOP (개체지향기반 안정도 해석 프로그램 개발 및 적용)

  • In this paper, we simulate the power system transient stability of Kwang Yang steel works using object-oriented programming (OOP). OOP is a more flexible method than procedural programming. There are several advantages in dynamic system simulation using OOP, The maintenance and repair of program are easy because it is sufficient to modify necessary parts which correspond to the change of system without overall change of program. We have implemented a graphical man-machine interface (MMI) that can be used draw one-line system diagram and analyze power flow and dynamic stability. The implemented MMI also provide a graphical viewer that display dynamic stability analysis results by mouse event handling. The proposed method have been applied to Kwang Yang steel works network for on-line dynamic stability analysis. The dynamic behaviour of 17 synchronous generators and 25 synchronous motors has been studied in the Kwang Yang network.

  • Since computerized numerical controller (CNC) emerged as a result of the fusion of the electronics technology and the mechanical technology, there has been continuous evolution of CNC technology in the mechatronics industry. The industry is recently developing a new control system based on the fusion of personal computer (PC) and CNC. Upgraded PC has now integrated into CNC, making various machines possible to exchange data, software and hardware, and to greatly improve man-machine interface. The fusion of PC and CNC can form a new paradigm in technological innovation of not only control system but also whole machinery industry in near the future. Korea lagged behind the developed countries in the development of open control system with the fusion of PC. Turbo-tek, Hyundai Motor and Daewoo are leading companies, but their commercial possibility seems to be low because domestic market is too small to reap a commercial benefit. Nevertheless, the development of the system is an essential step for Korea to embark on a future technological paradigm of the machinery industry. The government needs to play some role for the development, for instance, government R&D projects, institutional building and training of related technicians.

Retrofit of Analog Boiler Control Systems with Digital Control Systems in a Thermal Power Plant

  • This paper presents the case that the existing analog control systems were retrofitted with digital DCS(Distributed Control System)s for boiler unit in thermal power plant. Replacement of existing worn-out or obsolete analog control systems has been considered. Replacement of existing analog control systems with another analog control systems has lots of difficulties in maintaining the systems due to being out of stock. Due to those difficulties, existing analog control systems have been retrofitted with digital DCSs in many industrial sites. KEPRI(Korea Electric Power Research Institute) accomplished the project that retrofitted analog control systems with the developed DCSs for boiler unit in middle-scale coal-fired thermal power plant. The benefits of an upgrade to digital control include a increase of reliability due to system redundancy, ease of modifying the control logic and the parameters of function block, ease of maintenance due to available spare parts, improvement of information display, ease of modifying MMI(Man Machine Interface) displays, a increase in system availability, and improvement of control performance. This paper describes how to use the parameters of existing analog controllers, the implementation of digital PID controller, control system configuration for boiler unit in thermal power plant, some boiler control loops, control result during commissioning, and the comparison of boiler characteristic test data after retrofitting with the existing test data.
