A Fuzzy Control of Autonomous Mobile Robot for Obstacle Avoidance (장애물 회피를 위한 자율이동로봇의 퍼지제어)

  • In this paper, we proposed a fuzzy controller and algorithm for efficiently obstacle avoidance in unknown space. The ultrasonic sensor is used for position and distance recognition of obstacle, and fuzzy controller is used for left and right wheels angular velocity control. The fuzzification is used singleton method and the control rule is each wheel forty-nine. The fuzzy inference is used simplified Mamdani's reasoning and defuzzification is used SCOG(Simplified Center Of Gravity). The computer simulation based on mobile robot modelling was performed for the capacity of fuzzy controller and the really applicable possibility revaluation of the proposed avoidance algorithm and fuzzy controller. As a result, mobile robot was exactly reached in target and it avoided obstacle efficiently.

  • A new fuzzy control algorithm for the control of active magnetic bearing (AMB) systems is proposed in th~sp aper. It combines PDC algorithm based on the LMI design of Joh et al. [4,5] and Mamdani-type control rules using fuzzy singletons to handle the nonlinear characteristics of AMB systems efficiently. They are named fine mode control and coarse mode control, respectively. The coarse mode control yields fast response for large deviation of the rotor and the fine mode control gives desired transient response for small deviation of the rotor. The proposed algorithm is applied to an AMB system to verify the performance of the proposed method. The comparison of the proposed method with a linear controller using a linearized model about the equilibrium point and the PDC algorithm show the superiority of the proposed algorithm.

  • Fuzzy theory has been used effectively to control the nonlinear system since Mamdani successively adopted fuzzy theory in the steam-engine control problem in 1973. Truckbacker-upper control problem originally proposed by Nguyen and Widrow become a standard highly nonlinear control problem. In this paper, we designed adaptive fuzzy membership functions for speed control as well as steering control. In other words, an adaptive fuzzy control system for truck backer-upper problem useful for practical adaptation is proposed. Experimental results by simulations prove the effectiveness of the proposed system.

  • This paper presents a method of object classification based on discrete wavelet transform (DWT) and fuzzy inference(FI). It concentrated not only on the design of fuzzy inference algorithm which is suitable for low speed uninhabited transportation such as, conveyor but also on the minimize the number of fuzzy rule. In the preprocess of feature extracting, feature parameters are extracted by using characteristics of the coefficients matrix of DWT. Such feature parameters as area, perimeter and a/p ratio are used obtained from DWT coefficients blocks. Secondly, fuzzy if - then rules that can be able to adapt the variety of surroundings are developed. In order to verify the performance of proposed scheme, In the middle of fuzzy inference, the Mamdani's and the Larsen 's implication operators are utilized. Experimental results showed that proposed scheme can be applied to the variety of surroundings.

  • This paper is concerned with a stability analysis of Madam Type fuzzy systems. It Introduces the canonical form of an unforced fuzzy system and its stability theorem suggested in the previous study. Then it gives new simplified stability conditions based on the Lyapunov function method. A common positive definite matrix in the stability conditions is searched by the LMI method.

  • In this paper, a rule based Mamdani type fuzzy logic model for prediction of slippage at maximum tensile strength and slippage at rupture of structural lightweight concretes were discussed. In the model steel rebar diameters and development lengths were used as inputs. The FL model and experimental results, the coefficient of determination R2, the Root Mean Square Error were used as evaluation criteria for comparison. It was concluded that FL was practical method for predicting slippage at maximum tensile strength and slippage at rupture of structural lightweight concretes.

  • In this paper, a nor fuzzy control algorithm for the target tracking system is proposed, and its characteristics are analyzed and compared with those of the traditional PID controller. Fuzzy rules are generated experimentally using Mamdani's minimum operation and the center of area method. The experimental results prove that the proposed fuzzy algorithm is excellent in our tracking system and its performance is superior to that of the PID controller.

  • A fuzzy controller for the evaluation of the quantization parameters in the H.263 coder has been introduced. We adopted a Mamdani fuzzy controller with centroid defuzzification. The inputs are variance, entropy, current motion vector and previous motion vector. This results is obtained a effective rate control technique using fuzzy Quantization.

  • CP(Counterpropagation)알고리즘은 서로 다른 두 개의 신경망이 하나로 결합 된 혼합형 모델로서, 다른 신경망 모델에 비해 비교적 단순하고 빠른 학습 속도를 보인다. 그러나 CP 알고리즘은 다양한 패턴이 입력되면 충분한 경쟁층의 수가 설정되지 않아 학습이 불안정하고, 출력층에서 연결강도를 조정할 때 일반적인 학습률 조정방법으로 불안정한 학습 결과를 보인다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 다수의 경쟁층을 설정하여 경쟁층에서 패턴 분류의 정확성을 높이고, 입력 벡터와 승자 뉴런의 대표 벡터간의 차이와 승자 빈도수를 반영하여 학습률을 동적으로 조정하여 경쟁층에서의 학습이 안정적으로 진행되도록 하고, 출력층에서 연결강도를 조정할 때 모멘텀(momentum)학습법을 적용한 개선된 CP 알고리즘이 제안되었다. 본 논문에서는 개선된 CP 알고리즘에서 경쟁층의 수를 효율적으로 설정하기 위해 퍼지 제어 기법을 이용하여 경쟁층의 수를 결정하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 CP 알고리즘에 입력되는 패턴의 정보를 이용하여 퍼지 소속 함수를 설계하고 입력에 대한 소속도를 계산한 후, 퍼지 제어 규칙을 적용하고, Mamdani의 Min_Max 추론 방법으로 추론한다. 퍼지 추론을 통해 최종적으로 얻어진 값을 무게 중심법으로 비퍼지화 하여 최종적으로 개선된 CP 알고리즘의 경쟁층의 수를 결정하는데 적용한다. 제안된 방법의 학습 및 인식 성능을 평가하기 위해, 숫자, 영어 등과 같이 다양한 패턴을 실험에 적용한 결과, 제안된 방법이 경쟁층의 수를 결정하는데 효과적임을 확인할 수 있었다.

Distinction of Hot-Cold Using Fuzzy Inference (퍼지 추론에 의한 한열 판별)

  • Objectives Recently the fuzzy logic is widely used in the decision making, identification, pattern recognition, optimization in various fields. In this study, we propose the fuzzy logic as the objective method of distinguishing hot and cold, the basis of diagnosis in Korean medicine. Methods We developed fuzzy inference system to distinguish whether the subjects had hot or cold. The cold and hot questionnaire of Korean traditional university textbook, the pulse rate and the DITI value of face used in the system. These three kinds of information were defined as 'fuzzy sets,' and 54 fuzzy rules were established on the basis of clinical practitioners' knowledge. The fuzzy inference was performed by using the Mamdani's method. To evaluate the usefulness of the fuzzy inference system, 200 cases of data measured in the Woosuk university hospital of oriental medicine were used to compare the determining hot, normal, cold results obtained from the experts and from the proposed system. Results As a result, 100 cases of "cold", 54 cases of "normal", and 34 cases of "hot" were matched between the experts and the proposed system. This fuzzy system showed the conformity degree of 94%(${\kappa}=0.853$). Conclusions In this study, we could express the process of distinguishing hot-cold using the fuzzy logic for objectification and quantification of hot-cold identification. This is the first study that introduce a fuzzy logic for distinguish pattern identification. The degree of the heat characteristic of the patients inferred by this system could provide a more objective basis for diagnosing the hot-cold of patients.
