The objective of this study was to analyze children's maladjustment behavior as related to sex, temperament, and the mother's maternal attitudes, and to characterize the relative influence of these variables on the maladjustment behavior of 3-5 year old children in early child education centers. The subjects were recruited from Gwangju City, and included 217 mothers, and the teachers of their children. Statistical analyses were conducted using SPSSWIN(12.0) for Cronbach's alpha, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression analysis. The major findings are as follows; 1. Statistically significant differences existed in the maternal overprotective attitude group with regard to anxiety and withdrawal behaviors. 2. Boys evidenced more aggression, inattention, impulse, and anxiety behaviors than did girls. 3. The activity and adaptation factors of temperaments were significantly different. Increasing activity was associated with increasing aggressive behavior. Increasing adaptation was associated with higher levels of distraction. 4. In terms of maladjustment behaviors in the aggregate, the sex of the children appeared to be the most salient influencing factor, and the activity factor of children's temperament also exerted a significant influence, explaining 13% of maladjustment behavior.
Effectiveness of Long-term Group-counseling in Improving Emotional Intelligence and Prosocial Behavior in Preschooler The purpose of this study was to assess the effectiveness of long-term group-counseling in preventing children's maladjustment at school. for this study, six children were selected for an experimental group and another six for a control group. They were tested using the Emotional Intelligence Rating System and the Prosocial Behavior Skill Situations Measure for Preschool Level. In addition to quantitative analysis, a qualitative analysis was conducted to examine group processes and changes in each child. The experimental group participated insocio-drama, group art therapy, and game play therapy whereas the control group did not receive any treatment. In order to examine the impact of the intervention, pre-program tests and post-program tests were conducted. The results were as follows. First, the children's emotional intelligence was improved with group counseling. There was a significant difference in emotional intelligence between the experimental and the control groups. Second, children's prosocial behavior ability alsoimproved. There was a significant difference in social ability between the experimental and the control groups.
The purpose of this study was to explore the psychosocial characteristics of academically maladjusted students and the College's current status regarding academic maladjustment based on 4-year medical student cohort data collected from 2018 to 2021 and through interviews with 10 medical education experts using the integrated research method. This study included 223 students who consented to inclusion in the student cohort and participated in the emotional behavior test and college adaptability test of whom 65 students experienced academic maladjustment. Academically maladjusted students had significantly higher scores for social stress, anxiety, sense of inadequacy, attention, hyperactivity, and school maladjustment, and significantly lower scores for relationships with parents, interpersonal relationships, self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-strength. Academic and social integrity, emotional stability, university satisfaction, and university service satisfaction were all significantly lower in the academically maladjusted students than in the non-maladjusted group. The expert interviews indicated that academic maladjustment was mainly recognized as a personal problem, with causes such as lack of motivation and learning methods, vulnerability to stress, lack of social relationships and alienation, lack of support from the family, and insufficient resilience. Systematic support other than counseling for academically maladjusted students is required, and an early diagnosis and preventive intervention are important.
Subjects of this study were 621 children selected from 5th and 6th grades of elementary schools in Pusan. Factors associated with parents and peers varied by type of peer maladjustment(aggressive type and withdrawn type, compared with a control group). Particularly, the level of factors associated with peers varied from the control group by peer maladjusted types(aggressive types and, withdrawn types). Causal relationships of parents' rejection, victimization, negative representation by parents and by peers on child?s maladjustment varied by behavior types. Negative representation of peers had a direct effect only on withdrawal. On the other hand, negative representation of peers had no effect on aggression. Victimization had a first total effect on both withdrawal and aggression.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of family relations on facility adaptation of the elderly. In January and February of 2018, a questionnaire survey was conducted on 5 ~ 6 elderly residents of each long-term care facility, and finally 353 data were used for analysis. The main results of the study were as follows: First, the adaptation level of the elderly was high. As for 'maladjustment of group behavior' and 'movement shock', the level of maladjustment is low as 2 points, and adaptation dimension such as 'accept of new residence' and 'making friend' is above the middle level. Second, the influence of family variables was more influential than the demographic characteristics of the elderly and the influence of the facility-related variables. Among them, the closeness with family is the most influential. Therefore, it is suggested that the elderly need active support and efforts to maintain the intimacy with the family from the entrance to the facility and the time after the entrance.
The purpose of this study was to verify the effectiveness of sociodrama on adolescents who are maladjusted in school. For this study, nine adolescents were selected from a middle school located in Seoul. The Inventory of School adjustment by Bae Sook-Jin, Buss-Durkee Hostility Inventory(BDHI) and Impulsivity Test by Eysenck were administered. The experiment group acted out a sociodrama twelve times. The first follow-up test was conducted twelve weeks after the pre-test. The second follow-up test was conducted six weeks after first follow-up test. Each time the adolescents acted out a sociodrama their behavior was recorded by a video- camera and then documented by research assistants. Also in order to discover any changes in daily life after sociodrama, an interview survey were done with the adolescents' teachers. The findings were as follows. First, in the initial follow-up test degree of school-maladjustment was less than in the pre-test. Further decreases in the level of maladjustment were noted in the subsequent follow-ups. Therefore, it can be concluded that the performance of sociodramas can reduce school-maladjustment among adolescents and that this reduced level is maintained. Second, the level of hostility discovered in the first follow-up test was less than that in the pre-test, and this level continued to decrease in the following follow-ups. Therefore, we may conclude that sociodrama that reduces adolescent hostility and the reduced levels continue. Finally, the degree of impulse detected in the first follow-up was, once again, less than that of the pre-test, And, as in the other cases, there was a continued decrease in this level. We may therefore conclude that sociodrama does reduce the impulse of adolescents and that this reduction is maintained. This study indicates that sociodrama is an effective method to improve the psychological characters of adolescents who are maladjusted in school. Given the above, a follow up study is suggested.

Teenagers in multicultural families are more prone to depression and problem behaviors caused by violence such as bullying in schools due to their appearance, language presentation skills, and poor learning abilities compared to teenagers in general families. This study is meaningful in that it provides basic information for prevention measures in intervening with damage caused by school violence such as depression, anxiety, suicidal impulses and emotional and social. For this purpose, a survey of 300 elementary school students from 4 to 6 grade, junior high school, and high school students was conducted. A total of 400 questionnaires were distributed and of thos e 385 were used for the final analysis. The results of the study are as follows. First, the psychological factors of suicidal ideation were higher in the victimized group than school violence. Second, there was a significant difference in the relationship between emotional - social isolation and school violence experience. Third, there was a significant difference in the relationship between experience of suicide ideation and depression as well as anxiety of emotional - social isolation with psychological maladjustment. In conclusion, we plan to find ways to stabilize the multicultural society by providing prevention and protection measures against school violence.

This study was conducted to develop a group counseling program to solve the problem of maladjustment of military personnel and to verify the effectiveness of the program. The 12 session CBT and ACT program for military soldiers experiencing emotional and behavioral problems was developed and the effectiveness was verified by conducting a program once a week for soldiers in the army units based in South Chungcheong Province. Adult Self Report scale(ASR) was implemented for pre-post test and analysis, and descriptive statistical analysis, cross-analysis, paired sample t-test, and independent sample t-test were performed to analyze the results. The results indicated are as follows: First, the preliminary homogeneity test between groups showed that the two groups had homogeneous demographic characteristics and the characteristics of the variables. Second, as a result of the pre-post test verification, both CBT and ACT groups showed significant changes in problem behavior totals, internalizations, and externalizations. Third, there was no difference between the pre-post-examination of the CBT group and the ACT group. This study is meaningful in that it was involved in the maladjustment problem within the military unit, and compared the effectiveness between the two theories, and proposed the study of control groups and further studies on more diverse and diverse subjects that were not implemented under the circumstances of the unit.
The purpose of this study was to analyze data regarding the effects of group music therapy with adolescents. 27 master's, doctorial theses and published articles between 2000 and 2012 were selected for meta analysis. Subjects, independent variables, dependent variables, and the number of session were used to compare the effectiveness of group music therapy program. 49 effect sizes using means and standard deviation from 27 studies were calculated. The results were as follows. The overall mean effect size was -0.14, which is small size effect, according to Cohen's ES interpretation criteria. The mean ES was influenced by the subjects(adolescents/maladjustment students/addictive students/students in facility), the ES of adolescents was the biggest. However there were no significant difference among subjects. During the independent variables(active music therapy/receptive music therapy/combined music therapy), combined music therapy showed the biggest efficacy. When results were sorted by the dependent variables (social/emotional/behavior/cognitive category), the ES of behavioral category was the biggest. However, there was no significant difference among them. The ES of 11~15 session was the most effective.
This study aimed to examine the model to explain the mediator effect of care evaluation(care stress, care satisfaction) on the effect of stress factors and resource on the psychological well-being of the parents of the adult intellectual disabilities. Examining whether there is a difference between the gender of parents was another aim of this study. Study results showed that with the care stress as an endogenous variable, the daily life function and maladjustment behavior of adult children and the health state of parents had a significant direct effect on the psychological well-being of parents. With care satisfaction as an endogenous variable, family support, expert support and care stress had a significant direct effect. With the psychological well-being as an endogenous variable, care satisfaction and care stress had a significant effect, but the health state of parents didn't. In case of indirect effect, the care stress had a significant mediator effect on the effect of the physical function and maladjustment behavior of adult children and the health state of parents on the psychological well-being of parents. Care satisfaction had a significant mediator effect on the effect of family support, expert support and care stress on the psychological well-being of parents. According to the result of the Multiple Group Analysis, the path showed a statistically significant difference between gender was friend support→care satisfaction, care stress→psychological wellbeing, expert support→care satisfaction. On the basis of the study results, practical suggestions were made.
