  • This study practically analyzed the relationships of Internet addiction, self-esteem, interpersonal relations and maladjusted behaviors according to family types and in particular, made a practical analysis about whether self-esteem, interpersonal relations and maladjusted behaviors have mediation effects in the relationship between family types and Internet addiction. As a result of regression analysis, the Internet addiction according to family types was a negative relationship and significant. Family types were positively related to self-esteem. As for interpersonal relations, family types were significant as a positive relationship. On the other hand, maladjusted behaviors were proved that they have a negative relationship with family types like the Internet addiction. That is to say, even the mediation effects that family types through self-esteem, interpersonal relations and maladjusted behaviors related to Internet addition were verified. As a result, it was concluded that self-esteem, interpersonal relations and maladjusted behavior factors play mediator roles between family types and Internet addiction.

The subjects were 116 school maladjusted teens in Ulsan metropolitan area. As analysis methods, frequency analysis, descriptive statistics analysis, correlation analysis, three-step mediation effect analysis, and a Sobel test were performed based on factor analysis, reliability analysis, and regression analysis, using the R program. As a result, adolescent wellbeing was found to have a significant positive (+) effect on career decision self-efficacy. The effect of adolescent's wellbeing on career decision self-efficacy was confirmed. This means that the self-efficacy of career decisions will improve as the adolescent's wellbeing of school maladjusted teens increases and there is more positive community capital. • Purpose: This study was designed to examine the effects of solution-focused group counseling on the school attitude, self-esteem and hope in school maladjusted adolescents. Methods: The research design of this study was a non-equivalent control group pre-post test design. Thirty middle school students referred to a community mental health center in G city for school maladjustment from a school and welfare center were assigned to the experimental group and thirty middle school students in care for school maladjustment at a welfare center were assigned to the control group. The solution-focused group counseling for the experimental group was conducted once a week for 90 minutes during 6 weeks. The data were collected from December 10, 2003 to May 23, 2004. The data was analyzed by x2-test, t-test and paired t-test using the SAS program. Results: 1) School attitude increased significantly after solution-focused group counseling (t=6.036 p=.001). 2) Self-esteem increased significantly after solution focused group counseling (t=2.705, p=.010). 3) Hope increased significantly after solution-focused group counseling (t=3.671, p=.001). Conclusion: Solution-focused group counseling appears to be a very effective intervention for school maladjusted adolescents by increasing self-esteem, positive school attitude, hope and coping with problems.

  • The purpose of this study was to apply the learning clinic program to the maladjusted children to help the cognitive processing style, sense type and learning strategy. The results were as follows. First, the cognitive processing style of low-grade elementary school children is divided into the concept of sequential low-order style, which analyzes information sequentially and consecutively, concrete thinking style that processes real and direct information coming in from outside, and invisible principle or information. The abstract cognitive thinking style improved after the process before the program proceeded. However, There was no meaningful result in the simultaneous processing cognitive style which had excellent intuition and emotion and likes change. Second, the temporal lobe in which the linguistic activity is viewed, heard and spoken in the sensory type, the function of the occipital lobe in which the character or the language is processed is improved, but the function of the parietal lobe in moving and manipulating the body is not significant. Finally, factors that contribute to learning such as sincerity, learning initiative, study method, study habits, and concentration are helpful in learning and school life.

  • Error correction effect for maladjusted stereo cameras with calibrated pixel distance parameter is presented. The camera calibration is a necessary procedure for stereo vision-based depth computation. Intra and extra parameters should be obtain to determine the relation between image and world coordination through experiment. One difficulty is in camera alignment for parallel installation: placing two CCD arrays in a plane. No effective methods for such alignment have been presented before. Some amount of depth error caused from such non-parallel installation of cameras is inevitable. If the pixel distance parameter which is one of intra parameter is calibrated with known points, such error can be compensated in some amount. Such error compensation effect with the calibrated pixel distance parameter is demonstrated with some experimental results.

  • The purpose of this study was to verify the effectiveness of sociodrama on adolescents who are maladjusted in school. For this study, nine adolescents were selected from a middle school located in Seoul. The Inventory of School adjustment by Bae Sook-Jin, Buss-Durkee Hostility Inventory(BDHI) and Impulsivity Test by Eysenck were administered. The experiment group acted out a sociodrama twelve times. The first follow-up test was conducted twelve weeks after the pre-test. The second follow-up test was conducted six weeks after first follow-up test. Each time the adolescents acted out a sociodrama their behavior was recorded by a video- camera and then documented by research assistants. Also in order to discover any changes in daily life after sociodrama, an interview survey were done with the adolescents' teachers. The findings were as follows. First, in the initial follow-up test degree of school-maladjustment was less than in the pre-test. Further decreases in the level of maladjustment were noted in the subsequent follow-ups. Therefore, it can be concluded that the performance of sociodramas can reduce school-maladjustment among adolescents and that this reduced level is maintained. Second, the level of hostility discovered in the first follow-up test was less than that in the pre-test, and this level continued to decrease in the following follow-ups. Therefore, we may conclude that sociodrama that reduces adolescent hostility and the reduced levels continue. Finally, the degree of impulse detected in the first follow-up was, once again, less than that of the pre-test, And, as in the other cases, there was a continued decrease in this level. We may therefore conclude that sociodrama does reduce the impulse of adolescents and that this reduction is maintained. This study indicates that sociodrama is an effective method to improve the psychological characters of adolescents who are maladjusted in school. Given the above, a follow up study is suggested.
