모바일 센서 네트워크를 위한 에너지 효율적이고 경제적인 소형 이동 로봇의 개발 (Energy-Effective Low-Cost Small Mobile Robot Implementation for Mobile Sensor Network)

  • In this paper, we describe an implementation of small mobile robot that can be used at research and application of mobile sensor networking. This robot that will constitute the sensor network, as a platform of multi-robot system for each to be used as sensor node, has to satisfy restrictions in many aspects in order to perform sensing, communication protocol, and application algorithms. First, the platform must be designed with a robust structure and low power consumption since its maintenance after deployment is difficult. Second, it must have flexibility and modularity to be used effectively in any structure so that it can be used in various applications. Third, it must support the technique of wireless network for ubiquitous computing environment. At last, to let many nodes be scattered, it must be cost-effective and small. Considering the above restrictions of the mobile platform for sensor network, we designed and implemented robots control the current of actuator by using additional circuit for power efficiency. And we chose MSP430 as MCU, CC2420 as RF transceiver, and etc, that have the strength in the aspect of power. For flexibility and modularity, the platform has expansion ports. The results of experiments are described to show that this robot can act as sensor node by RF communication process with Zigbee standard protocol, execute the navigation process with simple obstacle avoidance and the moving action with RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indicator), operate at low-power, and be made with approx. $100.

빅데이터를 이용한 독거노인 돌봄 AI 대화형 말동무 아가야(AGAYA) 로봇 시스템에 관한 연구 (A Study on Interactive Talking Companion Doll Robot System Using Big Data for the Elderly Living Alone)

  • 본 연구는 4차 혁명기술의 핵심인 AI 기술을 활용한 대화형 AI 토이 로봇의 독거노인 돌봄에 대한 효과성에 주목하고, 보다 인간 중심적인 돌봄으로의 개인화, 맞춤화에 기여할 수 있도록 R&D를 통한 '아가야'라는 AI 토이 로봇을 개발하였다. R&D 작업은 활용 중인 AI 스피커와 AI 대화 인형의 기능을 고찰, 현재 AI 로봇을 사용 중인 총 6명의 독거노인과의 인터뷰, 독거노인의 AI 대화 로봇 사용 현황과 효과성, 한계성, 개선점 등을 파악한 후 진행되었다. 첫째, P-TTS 기술을 적용하여 듣고 싶은 사람의 음성을 자율적으로 선택하여 들음으로써 심리적 친밀감을 강화하고 둘째, 추억저장 및 소환기능으로 자신만의 심적 치유를 가능케 하며 셋째, 눈, 코, 입, 귀, 손의 5감의 다양한 역할을 추가하였고 넷째, 따뜻한 체온 유지, 아로마, 살균 및 미세먼지 제거부, 편리한 충전방식 등의 기술을 개발하였다. 이러한 기술들은 친밀감, 개인화 지향을 통한 독거노인의 대화형 로봇에 대한 사용을 확대하고, 돌봄의 수혜자라는 수동적인 프레임에서 벗어나 스스로 남은 노후를 생산적이고 독립적으로 기획할 수 있는 긍정적 이미지의 독거 노인상을 구축하는데 기여한다.

기계학습을 이용한 로봇 관절부 고장진단에 대한 연구 (Study on the Failure Diagnosis of Robot Joints Using Machine Learning)

  • Maintenance of semiconductor equipment processes is crucial for the continuous growth of the semiconductor market. The process must always be upheld in optimal condition to ensure a smooth supply of numerous parts. Additionally, it is imperative to monitor the status of the robots that play a central role in the process. Just as many senses of organs judge a person's body condition, robots also have numerous sensors that play a role, and like human joints, they can detect the condition first in the joints, which are the driving parts of the robot. Therefore, a normal state test bed and an abnormal state test bed using an aging reducer were constructed by simulating the joint, which is the driving part of the robot. Various sensors such as vibration, torque, encoder, and temperature were attached to accurately diagnose the robot's failure, and the test bed was built with an integrated system to collect and control data simultaneously in real-time. After configuring the user screen and building a database based on the collected data, the characteristic values of normal and abnormal data were analyzed, and machine learning was performed using the KNN (K-Nearest Neighbors) machine learning algorithm. This approach yielded an impressive 94% accuracy in failure diagnosis, underscoring the reliability of both the test bed and the data it produced.

  • 상 하수도, 해양플랜트 등 다양한 배관이 산업현장에 이용되고 있으며, 이러한 배관의 유지보수 작업은 필수적이다. 특히 산업현장에서 배관 유지보수 작업은 전문 인력이 배관 내 투입되어 작업이 진행되거나, 인력 투입이 불가능한 경우 와이어에 연결된 스크래퍼를 배관에 삽입하는 방식을 이용한다. 그러나 이 방식은 교통체증, 막대한 예산의 투입 등의 문제를 야기한다. 이런 문제점을 해결하기 위한 배관 청소 로봇의 연구, 개발이 진행되고 있다. 현재 배관청소 로봇은 작업 및 운용 상태를 실시간으로 확인할 수 없는 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 배관 청소로봇의 운용, 배관 내부 및 청소 상태를 확인할 수 있도록 카메라로부터 촬영된 영상을 수집하며, 수집된 데이터는 RS-485 통신을 이용하여 모니터링 시스템에 전송하여 사용자가 실시간으로 상태를 확인할 수 있게 구성하였다.

다관절 머니퓰레이터의 사용자 중심 제어기 설계 (User-Oriented Controller Design for Multi-Axis Manipulators)

  • This paper proposes a PC-based open architecture controller for a multi-axis robotic manipulator. The designed controller can be applied for various multi-axes robotic manipulators since the motion controller is implemented on a PC with its peripheral devices. The accuracy of the controller based on the computed torque method has been measured with the dynamic model of manipulator. Since the controller is implemented in the PC-based architecture, it is free from the user circumstances and the operating environment. Dynamics of the manipulator have been compensated by the feed forward path in the inner loop and the resulting linear outer loop has been controlled by PD algorithm. Using the specialized language, it can be more efficient in programming and in driving of the multi-axis robot. Unlike the conventional controller that is used to control only a specific robot, this controller can be easily changed for various types of robots. This paper proposes a PC-based controller that has a simple architecture with its simple interface circuits than general commercial controllers. The maintenance and the performance of the controller can be easily improved for a specific robot. In fact, using a Samsung multi-axis robot, AT1, the controller performance and convenience of the PC-based controller have been verified by comparing to the commercial one.

  • Servo systems became indispensable to applications such as industrial robots and numerically controlled machinery. Especially, induction motor drives are widely used as ac-servo system owing to the fact that it is maintenance-free. At the present time, Quick torque control methods such as vector control have been employed that enables an induction motor to attain as quick torque response as a dc motor. However, these methods can not be realized without knowing several motor parameters accurately, because the methods need them to calculate flux or voltage command. Most of all, secondary resistance has to be identified accurately, because it's value varies greatly for operation of induction motors. In this paper, a new identification method of secondary resistance based on quick torque control system of induction motors is proposed. The proposed method is derived theoretically from motor circuit equation and can be realized very simply by detecting primary current and voltage command of the motor. Through the numerical simulation considered using PWM inverter, the validity of the proposed method was successfully confirmed.

인공 면역계 기반 자율분산로봇 시스템의 협조 전략과 군행동 (Cooperative Strategies and Swarm Behavior in Distributed Autonomous Robotic Systems Based on Artificial Immune System)

  • In this paper, we propose a method of cooperative control (T-cell modeling) and selection of group behavior strategy (B-cell modeling) based on immune system in distributed autonomous robotic system (DARS). An immune system is the living bodys self-protection and self-maintenance system. these features can be applied to decision making of the optimal swarm behavior in a dynamically changing environment. For applying immune system to DARS, a robot is regarded as a B-cell, each environmental condition as an antigen, a behavior strategy as an antibody, and control parameter as a T-cell, respectively. When the environmental condition (antigen) changes, a robot selects an appropriate behavior strategy (antibody). And its behavior strategy is stimulated and suppressed by other robots using communication (immune network). Finally, much stimulated strategy is adopted as a swarm behavior strategy. This control scheme is based on clonal selection and immune network hypothesis, and it is used for decision making of the optimal swarm strategy. Adaptation ability of the robot is enhanced by adding T-cell model as a control parameter in dynamic environments.

  • The extremely strong competition among the world automobile industries has introduced the concept of PLM in the total production activities, one of whose major components is VM(Virtual Manufacturing). If the production lines are equipped with robots, the application of OLP in the virtual space is fully mature. However, in the point of the investment's and the maintenance's view, there are always some activities, which can not be automated: for example, typically the manual welding for prefixing in the automobile body shop and the material loading. Process planning for these activities, therefore, are decided mainly by experiences, which caused many repeated rework of the processes and the inconvenience of the workers, and resulted consequently in the reduction of the productivity and the safety of the workers. In this paper, the optimal dimension of the welding gun and its handle position and the optimal working path is simulated and decided by use of DELIMN/IGRIP and DELMIA/Ergo and the working area modelized in the virtual workcell of DELMIA.

  • Due to the development of technology, there is a considerable increase in the number of skyscrapers in the world. Accordingly, there are rapid growing requests about maintenances such as cleaning, painting, and inspection. However, it is extremely dangerous working the walls of buildings, and crashes from buildings have accounted for large proportion of constructional accidents. Especially, as the number of buildings with irregular shapes increases, the accident rate during the maintenance work increases each year, and most of the accidents lead to death. An alternative solution must be developed with the commercialization of automatic systems. In this research, a fundamental research has been conducted for drafting and commercializing an automation tool that is carried in the built-in guide system, which can perform cleaning.

엣지 디바이스인 소셜 로봇에서의 영상 딥러닝을 위한 모듈 교체형 인공지능 서버 설계 및 개발 (Design and Development of Modular Replaceable AI Server for Image Deep Learning in Social Robots on Edge Devices)

  • 본 논문에서는 인공지능 블록을 구동할 수 있도록 Edge Device와 서버를 분리하는 영상 딥러닝용 모듈 교체형 인공지능 서버의 설계와 데이터 송수신 방법을 제시한다. 영상 딥러닝용 모듈 교체형 인공지능 서버를 통해 소셜 로봇과 로봇의 플랫폼이 구동될 Edge Device 간의 종속성을 줄여 구동 안정성을 향상할 수 있다. 사용자가 소셜 로봇과의 상호작용을 위해서 인공지능 서버에 기능을 요청하면 모듈화된 기능들을 이용해 결과만을 반환받을 수 있다. 인공지능 서버에서 모듈화되어있는 기능들은 서버 관리자에 의해 모듈별로 유지 보수 및 변경이 쉽게 가능하다. 기존 서버 시스템과 비교했을 때 모듈 교체형 인공지능 서버는 수행되는 프로그램의 규모 차이와 서버 유지 보수 면에서 더 효율적인 성능을 낸다. 이를 통해 사람-로봇 간의 상호작용이 가능한 로봇 시나리오에 더 다양한 영상 딥러닝을 포함 시킬 수 있으며, 로봇 플랫폼 외에 영상 딥러닝을 위한 인공지능 서버에 적용할 때 더 효율적인 성능을 낼 수 있다.
