Glucose Prediction in the Interstitial Fluid Based on Infrared Absorption Spectroscopy Using Multi-component Analysis

  • Prediction of glucose concentration in the interstitial fluid (ISF) based on mid-infrared absorption spectroscopy was examined at the glucose fundamental absorption band of 1000 - 1500/cm (10 - 6.67 um) using multi-component analysis. Simulated ISF samples were prepared by including four major ISF components. Sodium lactate had absorption spectra that interfere with those of glucose. The rest NaCl, KCl and $CaCl_2$ did not have any signatures. A preliminary experiment based on Design of Experiment, an optimization method, proved that sodium lactate influenced the prediction accuracy of glucose. For the main experiment, 54 samples were prepared whose glucose and sodium lactate concentration varied independently. A partial least squares regression (PLSR) analysis was used to build calibration models. The prediction accuracy was dependent on spectrum preprocessing methods, and Mean Centering produced the best results. Depending on calibration sample sets whose sodium lactate had different concentration levels, the standard error prediction (SEP) of glucose ranged $17.19{\sim}21.02\;mg/dl$.

The Evaluation of Water Quality Using a Multivariate Analysis in Changnyeong-Haman weir section (다변량 통계분석을 이용한 낙동강 창녕함안보 구간의 수질 특성 평가)

  • The study of water environment system using a multivariate analysis in Changnyeong-Haman weir section has been conducted. The purpose of this study is to establish better understanding related water qualities in the Changnyeong-Haman weir section which can provide useful information. The data were consisted of water quality data and algae data including WT(water temperature), pH, DO, EC, COD, SS, T-N, $NH_3-N$, T-P, $PO_4-P$, Chl-a, TOC, d-silica, t-silica, Cyanobacteria, Diatoms, and Green algae. Statistical analyses used in this study were correlation analysis, principal components, and factor analysis. According to correlation analysis on COD and TOC, it revealed that the each value of correlation coefficient was 0.843. On the other result, a negative correlation was observed between diatoms and d-silica. Furthermore, the results of principal component analysis to the overall water quality were classified into four main factors with contribution rate 81.071%.

A study on the correlation between V charpy absorbed energy and critical COD value in the welded parts of high tensil strength steel under various welding methods (고장력강 용접부에 있어서 한계 COD값과 V charpy충격치와의 상관성에 관한 연구)

  • Although handicapped by the inability to bridge the size gap between small laboratory sample and large engineering component, the V charpy test sample method does possess certain advantages, such as each of preparation, simplicity of test method, speed, low cost in test machinery, and low cost per test. On the other hand, the COD test method does posses advantages, which reduce the size gap between the laboratory sample and actual engineering component. Consequently, the correlation between V charpy absorbed energy and the critical COD value is required for estimating critical COD value from the simple V charpy test results. In this paper, the high tensile strength steel AH36 plate specimens having a single edge cracked notch were investigated to find out the correlation between V charpy absorbed energy and critical COD value in the welded parts under such various welding methods as shielded metal arc welding, the submerged arc welding and the electro gas welding by means of V charpy impact test and static 3-point bending test. Main results obtained are as follow ; 1. The relationships between V charpy absorbed energy Wc' and critical COD value ($\delta_c$)show; $\delta_c$=0.0065 Wc'+0.1906. 2. Ductile- brittle transition behaviours can be estimated by means of fracture appearance and general yielding behaviours. 3. The V charpy absorbed energy of SMAW is higher than that of SAW, EGW and similar relationships are obtained in the COD tests.

ON COMMUTING GRAPHS OF GROUP RING ZnQ8

  • The commuting graph of an arbitrary ring R, denoted by ${\Gamma}(R)$, is a graph whose vertices are all non-central elements of R, and two distinct vertices a and b are adjacent if and only if ab = ba. In this paper, we investigate the connectivity, the diameter, the maximum degree and the minimum degree of the commuting graph of group ring $Z_nQ_8$. The main result is that $\Gamma(Z_nQ_8)$ is connected if and only if n is not a prime. If $\Gamma(Z_nQ_8)$ is connected, then diam($Z_nQ_8$)= 3, while $\Gamma(Z_nQ_8)$ is disconnected then every connected component of $\Gamma(Z_nQ_8)$ must be a complete graph with a same size. Further, we obtain the degree of every vertex in $\Gamma(Z_nQ_8)$, the maximum degree and the minimum degree of $\Gamma(Z_nQ_8)$.

  • One of the main issues in developing a digital library is how to implement an open digital library which can be interoperable, and diverse concepts, technology and protocols have been introduced to deal with this issue. In this study, it is analysed in terms of 'metadata interoperability', and based on the analysis, 5 basic component technologies are defined as follows: application profiles, modeling, implementation, resource discovery, portal service. Therefore it explains concepts of those core features, characteristics, cases in point, standardization and technical trends.

  • Specially, though electronic commerce and electron signature technology through internet rose, PKI (Public Key Ifrastructure) is one of technologies. PKI brought several kind of new standards in encryption base technology. In spite of several kind of standardizations consist lively, shortcoming of solutions that apply PKI is expensive and slow. If main interest of encryption technology including PKI is the fast speed and security that improve, this is very serious problem. The various kinds alternatives about these problem are presented. But, we must consider about replace expense and stability etc. still. So, I propose that use suitable encryption policy by method to solve such problem. I improved some problems of existent PKI structure. Subject of this treatise designs and embody communication component could use easily and simply short message communication or simplicity way encryption communication.

  • This study suggests that it dynamically generates semantic Web services from Java and C++ components in order to supporting semantic Web service by using ontology. And the semantic Web should enable greater access not only to content but also to services on the Web. It needs semantic service discovery for components. So, we add ontology-based framework to Web service generation system from components. Especially, components and ontologies are transformed UML model so that it makes WSDL documents to support a generation of dynamic Web service using object modeling. The main contribution of this study is to generate web service dynamically from components and to support semantic Web environment by using ontology. In other words, this study integrates semantic Web service based on ontology and CBD method.

Study on the Essential Oils from the Roots of Angelica decursiva and Peucedanum praeruptorum (바디나물과 백화전호 뿌리 정유의 비교 연구)

  • The dried roots of Angelica decursiva and Peucedanum praeruptorum are registered as the official sources for the drug 'Junho' in Korean Herbal Pharmacopoeia. In this study the essential oils were extracted from the roots of the two plants by steam distillation. Their compositions and the biological activities were compared. As the results of GC and GC-MS analysis, forty one and thirty five compounds were identified in the essential oils of Angelica decursiva and Peucedanum praeruptorum, respectively. Both of the two essential oils contained ${\alpha}$-pinene as the most abundant component. They showed similar significant antioxidant activities in DPPH scavenging assay, and reducing power test. Their dose dependent inhibitions of the nitrosamine formation were identified in experiment using BHA as control. In MTT test of three cancer cell lines, HeLa, MCF-7 and SK-Hep-1, the essential oil from A. decursiva showed stronger activities than that of P. praeruptorum and their common main component, ${\alpha}$-pinene.

  • This research describes an interactive process of analysing the demand factors for apartment on Cheonan area Using subjective statistical data for demand factor the process are categorized into main factors explained for the sensitiveness of correlation coefficient. This investigation is based on an analysis of the work of time series data One of the propose of this research is determining the correlation factors that can be effectively used in the model of forcasting. The results show a significant correlation coefficient on correlation matrix to iud the optimum correlation factors. The paper thus shows how to gain greater influntial factors on principal component analysis Consequently, this paper provides useful information about correlationship, but has limit of regional boundary for effectiveness.

Analysis of Environmental Literacy Components for Secondary School Environmental Education Textbooks (중등 환경 교과서의 환경 소양 요소 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to make valuable suggestions for improving environmental education(EE) teaching materials. For the purpose of this study, we analyzed four secondary school EE textbooks in the perspective of environmental literacy components. The findings of this study are as follows: (1) As a whole, the EE textbooks tend to focus the understanding environmental knowledge much more than environmental activities. (2) In 'main text' domain of EE textbooks, environmental information, including environmental issue knowledge, is much more focused than environmental attitudes and behavior, including socio-political and environmental issue knowledge. (3) In 'graphic data' domain, environmental information about environmental issue knowledge was most prevalent. (4) Most learning activities focus on 'issue skill' component, rather than 'attitude' and 'action' component. (5) The objectives of EE in the 7th national Curriculum were not explicitly embedded in textbooks and too much is inclined toward 'knowledge' and 'skill'. Accordingly, it is necessary to develop 'module-type' EE textbooks to enable integrative EE. Also, it is suggested to develop specific strategies for linking environmental knowledge and attitude/behavior.
