New Main Library Project in a Metropolitan City : with a Reference to the Library of Busan (지역대표도서관 건립 계획에 관한 연구 : (가칭)부산도서관을 중심으로)

  • The objective of this study is to establish and propose a construction plan for a new main library in a metropolitan city. The case to be discussed in this paper is the new library of Busan. Library Law revised in 2007 requires each metropolitan cities and provinces to designate a public library as the representative regional main library or to build a new one. The city of Busan has been enthusiastic to build a new main library that can serve as a representative public library for the citizen. This new public library will serve as a community center, an intellectual archive, and the policy hub for the regional information services. In this paper, the strategy for the new Busan central metropolitan library will be discussed. It will strive to illustrate elements to be considered for the planning of a regional central library as other citied and provinces may refer to for their own regional central libraries.

  • The main purpose of this study is to design the port marketing strategies for strengthening the competitive power of container terminal. So far many attempts have been made to analyze the international competitiveness of the terminal. Six factors hypothesized by this study come from previous research analyses about customers preference for port selection. Those are Cost Centrality and Intermediacy Free trade port Inland transportation connections Political and Economic institution and Port facilities. this study analyzes the most important factors about hob port and transhipment port separately through questionnaire analysis about users(shipper shipping company and freight forwarder) influencing on port selection.   • Wind turbine industry is booming and spending a lot on research for improving the performance of its present machines and increasing their capacity. Wind turbine requires service life of about 20 years and each components of wind turbine requires high durability, because installation and maintenance costs are more expensive than generated electricity by wind-turbine. So the design of wind turbine must be verified in various condition before production step. For this work, high reliability model for analysis is required. Drivetrain model is modeled by multibody dynamic modeling method. The model constituted with rotor blades, hub, main shaft, gear box, high speed shaft and generator. Natural frequency and torsional stiffness of drivetrain are calculated and analyzed.

  • Incheon International Airport is becoming a hub in the Northeast Asia region since its opening in 2001. Along with an increasing volume of air traffic, demands for airspace are also increasing significantly. In particular, air traffic delays have been growing rapidly due to an increasing volume of air traffic, specially flying to Europe through China. And therefore, there should be an alternative protocol to prevent flight delays. The main purpose of this study is to review current West Sea Airways of G597/Y64 which contains highly potential problems and to evaluate the efficacy of double-tracked airways in the west sea area.

  • To increase the synergies of rural experience tourism and overcome the limitations rural tourism are study. A basic cooperative model and theme model have been set up and comprehensive cooperative tourism model has been offered. In order to the development of model example, experience resources has been investigated and problems and features for 7 rural experience tourism villages of Cheongwon have been identified. The basic cooperative model has been selected main line and part hub type. The theme model has been separated nature experience, history and character experience, traditional culture and theme experience, agriculture and rural area experience. Based on this, The thematic cooperative tourism model and the comprehensive cooperative tourism model, its a schedule have been exemplified.

  • In this study, to investigate the effect of process variables such as reduction in area, semi-die angle and the rectangular ratio to the corner filling which influences the dimensional accuracy of the final product in the drawing of the cluadrangle rod from a round bar, it has been simulated by three dimensional rigid-plastic finite element method. In order to reduce the number of simulation artificial neural network has been introduced. Also, through the experimental investigation, the present results have been implemented on the industrial product. In results, the main process variable is the combination of the semi-die angle in case of the irregular shaped drawing process and reduction in area in the event of regular shaped drawing process, respectively.

  • This study investigates the wake effect of an island to develop the offshore wind farm. The main wind direction can be determined from the data processing of the QuikSCAT satellite data around the Wi-do island at south-west sea of the Korean peninsula. Computational fluid dynamics is adopted to analyze the wake effect. From this study the velocity defects due to the wake are revealed. In particular about 5% velocity defect is observed at 80m hub height from the sea surface.

A Study on the Logistics Strategies in Kunsan Port's Hinterland (군산항 배후단지의 로지스틱스 전략)

  • The purpose of this study is to consolidate the position of Kunsan Port as a Hub-port in Northeast asian region with the development of Kunsan port's hinterland. To accomplish the purpose, this paper firstly reviews the concept and function of port's hinterland literally. Next, We attempt to grasps the trends of port logistics service in this region, and to cope with this trends, study the previous researches of logistics platform(LP). Based upon the study, We find out the main factors of improving efficiency in port logistics, and build the model of logistics strategy with such factors as (1) Environment (2) Marketing (3) Logistics Chain and (4) Logistics community. And in order to applicate the model, we analyze the current situation of Kunsan port and port's hinterland. Finally, we provide the logistics strategies in Kunsan port's hinterland.

Design and Manufactures of Cyclocopter Composite Wing Blades (사이클로콥터의 복합재료 Wing blade 설계 및 제작)

  • Cyclocopter is air vehicle to vertically take-off and land like a helicopter. This is an efficient and quiet means of being able to direct thrust compared to a helicopter. The rotor consists of several blades rotating about a horizontal axis perpendicular to the direction of normal flight. The direction of blade span is parallel to rotating axis and both end roots are connected to the hub to resist centrifugal force and to transmit the power. The pitch of the individual blades to the tangent of the circle of the blade's path is varied cyclically to gain thrust. In the paper, the design and manufactures of cyclocopter rotor blades are presented. Stress at the roots of cyclocopter blades is great due to centrifugal and aerodynamic forces and aeroelastic instabilities appear. The blades consist of main spar, front spar, polyurethan foam, weight, and skin and spars and skin are made of glass/epoxy composite.
