  • The critical point analysis(CA) and impedance matching analysis(IA) are performed and compared for a 4-coil magnetic resonance wireless power transfer system. Because the operating frequency splits at short distance while the efficiency drops drastically at long distance in this system, the optimization technique is needed for either a specific distance or efficiency at the fixed frequency. CA uses the critical point where shows maximum efficiency in the entire range and IA uses the impedance matching technique to achieve maximum efficiency at the specific distance. Comparison result shows that IA is more efficient than CA. Also, it shows one side matching has a tradeoff relationship comparing to both side matching. By using four spiral resonant coils, the analysis was experimentally verified. The measured data agreed well with the calculated data.

  • In this research, we investigate the properties of membrane and thin film sensor which is using magnetic resonance properties. we expect to $Si_xN_y$ and SiC materials as membrane materials, we measured thin film stress and properties to find the best membrane fabrication condition. Of the two membrane, $Si_xN_y$ thin film is the better than SiC thin film. because of an adequate tensile stress and lower thermal expansion coefficient as sensor structure layer. After performing deposition and patterning thin film sensor material on $Si_xN_y$, we analyzed the magnetic hysteresis and magnetic resonance frequency of sensor. If the magnetic field which is applied in sensor material is removed, magnetization made by magnetic field is transited to elastic mode. moreover. energy radiation is induced during the transition and voltage generates in sensor by energy radiation. At this moment, If voltage generation period is longer, mechanical vibration is induced and signal is generated by mechanical vibration. we also see that as the increase of thin film sensor' length and width, magnetic resonance frequency is decreased.

  • This paper presents a numerical method to analyze the electromechanical-coupled field in the spindle motor of a computer hard drive and investigates dynamic response due to the electromechanical excitation, i.e. unbalanced magnetic force and centrifugal force for the rotational asymmetric motor. Magnetic field is calculated from Maxwells equation and voltage equation by introducing nonlinear time-dependent finite element analysis. Mechanical motion of rotor is calculated by solving Newton-Euler equation. Electromechanical excitation and dynamic response are characterized by analyzing the free response of a rotating rotor and Fourier analysis of the excitation force and resulting vibration of a rotor. It shows that centrifugal force produces the unbalanced magnetic force even in the rotational symmetric motor. It also shows that resonance produces quite considerable vibration even when the high excitation frequency with small amplitude matches with the natural frequency of the spindle motor.

  • In this paper, we propose a magnetic resonant WPT(wireless power transfer) scenario using a large coil resonating at 6.78 MHz, and compare the characteristics through a three-dimensional electromagnetic field simulation and a magnetic resonant WPT equivalent circuit. The magnetic resonant WPT equivalent circuit proposed in this paper considers the parasitic capacitance generated between the coils in addition to the conventional equivalent circuit. Based on this analysis, we fabricated the magnetic resonant WPT coil and compared it with simulation prediction. As a result of comparison, the transfer characteristics and the resonance frequency shift can be predicted. Error proposed characteristics of equivalent circuit for the magnetic resonant WPT and the measured values are estimated to be ${\Delta}{\mid}S11{\mid}=1.31dB$ and ${\Delta}{\mid}S21{\mid}=1.21dB$, respectively.

  • The aspect of vibration is analyzed according to the structural length difference of IPMSM housing. For this purpose, the frequencies that have the greatest influence on the RMF were analyzed using electromagnetic analysis result. And the change of resonance frequency was analyzed through structural analysis. The vibration experiment was also performed. Compared with the analysis result, it was verified whether it is the actual aspect and validity result.

  • A novel analytic solution has been derived for the bird-cage receiver coil of a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system, which is widely used in 3-dimensional medical imaging, by transforming the coil into an equivalent circuit model by using a transmission matrix-based circuit analysis. The bird-cage coil composed of N legs is divided into a cell for which input impedance is to be analyzed and the remaining N-1 cells, and then a transmission matrix corresponding to the N-1 cells is converted into a circuit to transform the 3-dimensional bird-cage coil into the 2-dimensional equivalent circuit model, which is suitable to derive the analytic solution for the input impedance. The proposed method derives directly the analytic solution for the input impedance at an arbitrary point of the coil unlike the conventional analytic solution of a bird-cage coil, so that it can be used not only for resonance frequency calculations but also for various coil characteristics analyses. Since the analytic solution agreed well with the results of computational simulations, it can be useful for the impedance matching of a coil and the analysis and the design of a multi-tune bird-cage coil.

  • Many researchers are studying brain activity to using functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), Time Resolved Spectroscopy(TRS), Electroencephalography(EEG), and etc. They are used detection of seizures or epilepsy and deception detection in the main. In this paper, we focus on emotion recognition by recording brain waves. We specially use fMRI, TRS, and EEG for measuring brain activity Researchers are experimenting brain waves to get only a measuring apparatus or to use both fMRI and EEG. This paper is measured that we take images of fMRI and TRS about brain activity as human emotions and then we take data of EEG signals. Especially, we focus on EEG signals analysis. We analyze not only original features in brain waves but also transferred features to classify into five sections as frequency. And we eliminate low frequency from 0.2 to 4Hz for EEG artifacts elimination.

  • In this paper, the optimal design of notch and barrier was carried out in order to improve characteristics of constant torque with minimizing the cogging torque occurred by teeth and slot structure. Optimized design was carried out by design of experiment and various characteristics including torque were studied by finite element method(FEM). In addition, in order to verify resonance frequency, natural frequency of the stator was analyzed by modal analysis.

  • This paper presents numerical and experimental results of modal parameter identification in a generator stator frame for 500 MW fossil power plants. A commercial finite element analysis S/W was employed for modal analysis. The generator is excited by alternating electromagnetic forces, mainly of 120 Hz in 60 Hz machines, due to magnetic field and electric current in windings. It is necessary to verify that the stator frame has adequate frequency margin from the excitation frequency to avoid possible resonance when operating. Thus, frequency margin required for the stator frame is established using the numerical and experimental results. The results show that the stator frame meets the frequency-margin requirements. Also, results of modal analysis for design modification in order to reduce weights of the stator frame without deteriorating vibration characteristics are presented.

  • This paper deals with the modal analysis and the displacement of stator due to electromagnetic forces in Switched Reluctance Motor(SRM). A free-free model of the stator based on structural 3-dimensional Finite Element Method(FEM) is used for investigation the natural frequencies and the mode shapes of the stator. In addition, The displacement caused by magnetic force acting on stator pole is analyzed by the structural FEM coupled with the magnetic force. From these results, the resonance speed is obtained by the relation of the natural frequencies of the harmonic frequencies of magnetic force. And, the eccentricity with respect to rotor is predicted from the analysis result of the mechanical displacement of stator. The natural frequencies of stator are compared with experimental ones measured by modal testing.
