Suspension effect has been studied by using superconductor of BiPbSrCaCuO ceramics containing $Ag_2O$. It has been cleared that $Ag_2O$ acts as pinning center which plays an important role to the suspension effect. Magnetic repulsive force which affects a superconductor located in magnetic flux from toroidal magnet has been investigated. It has been concluded that the suspension effect arises from the interaction between the pinning effect and the diamagnetic effect.

The problem in improving the positioning precision of a Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor (PMLSM) is the detent force caused by the interaction of the magnets with the teeth of stator. This paper presents 3-Dimensional Equivalent Magnetic Circuit Network Method (3-D EMCN) for the analysis of PMLSM. 3-D EMCN is a numerical analysis method which supplements magnetic equivalent circuit by using numerical technique. We analyzed the fields and forces of PMLSM in case of skewed magnet and axially segmented magnet construction.
This paper presents a new cutting method, i.e. diamond cutting, aided by electrolysis, in order to cut ferrous materials with diamond tools. Diamond cutting is widely applied in manufacturing ultraprecision parts such as magnetic disk, polygon mirror, spherical/non-spherical mirror and copier drum, etc. because of the diamond tool edge sharpness. In general, however, diamond cutting cannot be applied to cutting steels, because diamond tools wear excessively in cutting iron based materials like steel due to their high chemical interaction with iron in high temperature. In order to suppress the diffusion of carbon from the diamond tool and to reduce increase of cutting force due to size effect, we attempt to change chemically the compositions of iron based materials using electrolysis in a limited part which will be soon cut. Through experiments under several micro-machining and electrolysis conditions, cutting using electrolysis, compared to conventional cutting, was found to result in a great decrease of the cutting force, a better surface and much less wear tool.
This model is proposed to describe the buckling behavior of Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs) embedded in an elastic medium taking into account the combined effects of the magnetic field, the temperature, the nonlocal parameter, the number of walls. Using Eringen's nonlocal elasticity theory, thin cylindrical shell theory and Van der Waal force (VdW) interactions, we develop a system of partial differential equations governing the buckling response of CNTs embedded on Winkler, Pasternak, and Kerr foundations in a thermal-magnetic environment. The pre-buckling stresses are obtained by applying airy's stress function and an adjacent equilibrium criterion. To estimate the nonlocal critical buckling load of CNTs under the simultaneous effects of the magnetic field, the temperature change, and the number of walls, an optimization technique is proposed. Furthermore, analytical formulas are developed to obtain the buckling behavior of SWCNTs embedded in an elastic medium without taking into account the effects of the nonlocal parameter. These formulas take into account VdW interactions between adjacent tubes and the effect of terms involving differences in tube radii generally neglected in the derived expressions of the critical buckling load published in the literature. Most scientific research on modeling the effects of magnetic fields is based on beam theories, this motivation pushes me to develop a cylindrical shell model for studying the effect of the magnetic field on the static behavior of CNTs. The results show that the magnetic field has significant effects on the static behavior of CNTs and can lead to slow buckling. On the other hand, thermal effects reduce the critical buckling load. The findings in this work can help us design of CNTs for various applications (e.g. structural, electrical, mechanical and biological applications) in a thermal and magnetic environment.
The high investment is necessary for the new high speed lines. So the KRRI was interested in the possibility of upgrading the existing line in order to speed up the train in the conventional lines. The tilting train system has been developed because the reconstruction of railway for the cant compensation costs very high. The purpose of the tilting system is to compensate the centrifugal acceleration in order to reduce the lateral acceleration of the passenger at high speed on the curves. The pantograph of the tilting train is indispensable in order to supply the electrification equipments with power in safe. The dynamic interaction between the pantograph and the overhead catenary system causes the variation of the contact force and the contact force variation can cause contact losses, arcing and sparking. If the spark happens between the pantograph and the overhead catenary system, the EMI(electro magnetic interface) and noises may occur. After all, the quality of current collection is deteriorated. This paper deals with the active control of pantograph and presents the LQ-servo controller to reduce the contact force variation.
There is a great demand of micro-actuators for mobile information devices such as SFF optical drives and mobile camera phones. However, conventional magnetic coils of electromagnetic motors are a major obstacle for miniaturization because of their complicated structures and large power consumption. In this paper, a linear ultrasonic motor to actuate focusing lens of mobile devices is proposed. The new actuator uses a ring type bimorph piezoelectric material, and $d_{31}$ mode is adopted for applying linear motion. The interaction between inertia force and friction force makes linear motion by high-frequency saw signal input. The saw signal gives steady forces on the one direction by asymmetric inclination property of the signal itself on time domain. A commercial FEM (ANSYS) was used in this investigation for simulating structural analysis, identification of dynamic property, such as resultant displacement and coupled analysis with piezoelectric material. To evaluate the performance of the new design, a prototype was manufactured and experiments were carried out. Experimental results show the actuator motion of 1.52 mm/s at 10 kHz input signal in 5 V.

A moving coil linear oscillatory actuator is consisted of the NdFeB permanent magnets with high specific energy as the stator, a coil-wrapped nonmagnetic hollow rectangular structure and an iron core as a pathway for magnetic flux. The variation of mover position and the consequent changes of coil flux path affect the coil inductance, because coil flux leaks at the open region of LOA stator. The interaction between permanent magnet and armature field is to shift the airgap flux density variation due to the magnet alone by a certain amount. The unbalanced reciprocation force due to armature reaction field decreases the advantage of moving coil LOA, such as a high degree of linearity and controllability in the force ad motion control. This paper firstly describes the coil inductance, the deviation of flux density, and the unbalanced reciprocation force, which are derived form the permeance model of LOA. Secondly, the analytical method are verified using the 2D finite element method and tests. Finally, the dynamic simulation algorithm taking the armature reaction effect and variable inductance into account, is proposed and confirmed through the experiment.
This paper presents the analysis for power consumption, mechanical vibration and acoustic noise characteristics of the Coreless and Slotless Brushless DC motor in Digital Lightening Processor(DLP) Motor with the Air-Dynamic Bearing. The Coreless BLDC motor has not the stator yoke as well as the stator slot to remove the unbalance force by the interaction between the stator yoke and Air-Dynamic Bearing clearance. The assembling tolerance and the processing error make the air-gap difference between the magnet and the stator yoke .which occurs the unbalanced electro-magnetic force in the Slotless BLDC motor. It imposes the air-dynamic bearing on the disturbance force and makes the Air-Dynamic Bearing vibrated and noised. Also, The attractive force between the magnet and the silicon steel stator yoke increases the power consumption. In this paper, the power consumption, mechanical vibration and acoustic noise of the Coreless BLDC motor and the Slotless BLDC motor with the silicon steel stator yoke are simulated, analyzed, and tested using the manufactured proto-type motors with Air-Dynamic bearing. The simulated and tested results present that the Coreless BLDC motor without the silicon steel stator yoke has the lower mechanical vibration and noise ,and lower power consumption than the Slotless BLDC motor with the silicon steel stator yoke in Digital Lightening Processor Motor with Air-Dynamic Bearing.
