  • The influence regarding the dehydrogenation speed, at the desorption-recombination state during the hydrogenation-disproportionation-desorption-recombination (HDDR) process, on the microstructure and magnetic properties of Nd-Fe-B magnetic powders has been studied. Strip cast Nd-Fe-B-based alloys were subjected to the HDDR process after the homogenization heat treatment. During the desorption-recombination stage, both the pumping speed and time of hydrogen were systematically changed in order to control the speed of the desorption-recombination reaction. The magnetic properties of HDDR powders were improved as the pumping speed of hydrogen at the desorption-recombination stage was decreased. The lower pumping speed resulted in a smaller grain size and higher DoA. The coercivity and the remanence of the 200-300 ${\mu}m$ sized HDDR powder increased from 12.7 to 14.6 kOe and from 8.9 to 10.0 kG, respectively. In addition, the remanence was further increased to 11.8 kG by milling the powders down to about 25-90 ${\mu}m$, resulting in $(BH)_{max}$ of 28.8 MGOe.

  • The materials showing high structure dispersity have been developed on the quartz base by mechano-chemical technology. Depending on the processing conditions and subsequent applications, the materials produced by mechano-chemical reaction (MCR) showed concurrently magnetic, dielectric and electrical properties. The obtained magnetic-electrical powders classified by aggregate complex of their features as segneto-magnetics, contained a dielectric material as a carrying nucleus, particularly the quartz on that surface one or more layers of different compounds was synthesized having thickness up to 10∼50 nm and showing magnetic properties and etc.

  • HDDR treated anisotropic Nd-Fe-B powders have been widely used, due to their excellent magnetic properties, especially for sheet motors and sunroof motors of hybrid and electric vehicles. Final microstructure and coercivity of such Nd-Fe-B powders depend on the state of starting mother alloys, so additional homogenization treatment is required for improving magnetic properties of them. In this study, a homogenization treatment was performed at $900\sim1140^{\circ}C$ in order to control the grain size and Nd-rich phase distribution, and at the same time to improve coercivity of the HDDR treated magnetic powders. FE-SEM was used for observing grain size of the HDDR treated powder and EPMA was employed to observe distribution of Nd-rich phase. Magnetic properties were analyzed with a vibrating sample magnetometer.

  • The effects of bath temperature on electrochemical behavior, alloy composition, crystallographic structure, morphology and the magnetic properties of electrodeposited Co-Pt-W(P) films were investigated. Electrochemical studies show that alloy electrodeposition has been shifted to more positive potentials and the critical time for nucleation decreased as electrolyte temperature increased. As the temperature increased from 40 oC to 80 oC, tungsten content in the deposit increased, while phosphorus content decreased. The films deposited at T = 40 oC exhibited soft magnetic properties. However, electrodeposited at T = 70 oC, the films exhibited hard magnetic properties. It is also demonstrated that higher temperature more than 70 oC could weaken hard magnetic properties. XRD results indicated that the deposits obtained at 50 oC-70 oC showed enhancement of [00.1] P.O. (preferred orientation) with the bath temperature, which resulted in the stronger perpendicular magnetic anisotropy.

  • Magnetic garnet films of (YSmLuCa)$_3$(FeGe)$\_$5/O$\_$12/ have been grown by the liquid phase eqitaxy method on the substrate of non-magnetic garnet Gd$_3$Ga$\_$5/O$\_$12/. The variation of Sm ion concentration were varied 0.3, 0.4, 0.6, mole/formula unit respectively. The magnetic properties of the samples for the bubble magnetic materials, such as, line width ΔH of ferromagnetic resonance (FMR), magnetic saturation induction 4$\pi$Ms, wall mobility u$\_$w/ uniaxial magnetic anisotropy energy Ku, were measured and discussed the relations between these properties. The line width ΔH decreases with increasing 4$\pi$Ms, and with decreasing Sm concentration. The anisotropy energy Ku increases not only with increasing Sm ion concentration, but also increasing 4$\pi$Ms. The value of wall mobility u$\_$w/ increase with increasing 4$\pi$Ms and decreases with increasing Sm concentration. We define a physical constant Eι from the fact that the product of 4$\pi$Ms and ΔH is constant with dimension of energy density. The Eι is dependent only on Sm concentration.density. The Eι is dependent only on Sm concentration.
