Magnetic field and Electric field of High Temperature Superconducting magnet are very important to analysis of superconducting magnet. The maximum perpendicular magnetic field was applied to the outermost pancake windings. The critical current of all the magnet windings is limited by the critical current of the outermost pancake windings. The E-J relation was used to determine the critical current, and an evolution s trategy was adopted for the optimization of gap length between each pancake windins. The results of calculations show that the critical current and the central magnetic field and uniformity increased by 82.6% and 31.6% and 50.8%, respectively, for a magnet consisting of ten pancake windings. This paper did an analysis the cause of increase the critical current and central magnetic field and uniformity in no gap and optimal gap model.
In this study, the porothermoelastic problem with the effect of the magnetic field and initial stress was investigated. We applied normal mode analysis to solve the resulting non-dimensional coupled equations. Numerical results for the displacements, temperature distribution, pore pressure, stresses, induced electric field and induced magnetic field distributions are presented graphically and discussed. The medium deformed because of thermal shock and due to the application of the magnetic field, there result an induced magnetic and an induced electric field in the medium. Numerical analyses are given graphically on the square (2D) and cubic (3D) domains to illustrate the effects of the porosity parameter, magnetic field and initial stress parameter on the physical variables.
For the magnetic field analysis or design, it is important to know the behavior of the magnetic field in an interesting space. Magnetic field mapping becomes a useful tool for the study of magnetic field. In this paper, a numerical way for mapping the magnetic field within the cylindrical center volume of magnet is presented, based on the solution of the Laplace's equation in the cylindrical coordinate system. The expression of the magnetic field can be obtained by the magnetic flux density, which measured in the mapped volume. According to the form of the expression, the measurement points are arranged with the parallel cylindrical line (PCL) method. As example, the magnetic flux density generated by an electron cyclotron resonance ion source (ECRIS) magnet and a quadrupole magnet were mapped using the PCL method, respectively. The mapping results show the PCL arrangement method is feasible and convenience to map the magnetic field within a cylindrical center volume generated by the general magnet.
Solar microwave bursts carry information about the magnetic field in the emitting region as well as about electrons accelerated during solar flares. While this sensitivity to the coronal magnetic field must be a unique advantage of solar microwave burst observations, it also adds a complexity to spectral analysis targeted to electron diagnostics. This paper introduces a new spectral analysis procedure in which the cross-section and thickness of a microwave source are expressed as power-law functions of the magnetic field so that the degree of magnetic inhomogeneity can systematically be derived. We applied this spectral analysis tool to two contrasting events observed by the Owens Valley Solar Array: the SOL2003-04-04T20:55 flare with a steep microwave spectrum and the SOL2003-10-19T16:50 flare with a broader spectrum. Our analysis shows that the strong flare with the broader microwave spectrum occurred in a region of highly inhomogeneous magnetic field and vice versa. We further demonstrate that such source properties are consistent with the magnetic field observations from the Michelson Doppler Imager instrument onboard the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) spacecraft and the extreme ultraviolet imaging observations from the SOHO extreme ultraviolet imaging telescope. This spectral inversion tool is particularly useful for analyzing microwave flux spectra of strong flares from magnetically complex systems.
As increasing underground facilities, more effective management is needed nowadays. It is important to get an accurate information of underground facilities to manage that, so some methods of detecting location - electromagnetic induction method, ground penetration radar method, sonic method - are used to obtain the information of underground facilities. In this study, a magnetic method to detect underground facilities was developed. In the magnetic method, underground facilities are detected by a detector and the magnetic marker which is a permanent magnet and used to marking the location by attaching underground facilities. A proper characteristic of the magnetic marker was optimized by maxwell 20 magnetic field analysis tool, a test field was constructed with the magnetic marker, PVC pipe, and steel pipe under ground 1.5m, and the detector was made by modifying a common ferromagnetic detector. Magnetic strengths of the magnetic marker were measured by the detector at each location in the test field, and analyzed by magnetic field analysis tool in the same condition. In the result, the underground pipes were detectable within the deviation ${\pm}20cm$ at PVC pipe and ${\pm}10cm$ at steel pipe respectively. The steel pipe was more detectable by ferromagnetism. The developed magnetic method can be applied to maintain and manage underground facilities.

This paper describes magnetic field on power cable in underground transmission systems. Based on specification which is being used in domestic power utility, magnetic field was analyzed in accordance with line arrangement, line burial depth and phase spacing. Magnetic field magnitude and its trend were understood in each circuit type such as double circuits, triple circuits and quadruple circuits of underground transmission systems. In addition, magnetic field was analyzed according to phase arrangement changing in each circuit. Finally, the proper phase arrangement configuration type was suggested by the evaluation of analysis result. Magnetic field was calculated by using Biot-Savart's law. According to the evaluated magnetic fields based on phase layout configuration in each circuit, it figured out that each of magnetic fields was different. As a result, this paper proposes a proper phase layout configuration for generating minimum magnetic field. It is evaluated that the phase layout configuration in each circuit proposed in this paper can be used at actual underground transmission systems.

This paper is about utilizing magnetic sensor to measure magnetic signal and analyze the form of magnetic signal for vehicle detection. For magnetic sensor, MR sensor from Honeywell company was used, and Helmholtz coil of which 3 axis' length is 1.2 m was manufactured to check the capability of the sensor and estimate its ability to detect the magnetic field. Vehicle detection was performed in following steps: installing sensor in road lane and non-road lane; estimating magnetic field when the vehicle is run by the driver; and estimating magnetic field of 7 different vehicles with different sizes. Also, sensor was installed at SUV and small-sized vehicle's park and non-park area to analyze the form of magnetic field. Lastly, the form of magnetic field made by different parts of the vehicle was analyzed. Based on the analysis, the form of magnetic field's magnetic peak value was bigger for road lane than non-road lane, complicated form was useful to distinguish the road lane above the installed sensor and the location of the running car, and the types of vehicle could be sorted because the variance of the magnetic field was bigger for bigger size of the vehicle. Also, it was confirmed that the forms of vehicle in parts-by-parts estimates.

By utilizing a field emission gun and a biprism installed on a transmission electron microscope (TEM), electron holography is extensively carried out to visualize the electric and magnetic fields of nanomaterials. In the electric field analysis, the distribution of electric potential in a sharp tip made of W coated with $ZrO_2$ is visualized by applying the voltage to the tip. Denser contour lines due to the electric potential are observed with an increase in the bias voltage. In the magnetic field analysis by producing the strong magnetic field with a sharp magnetic needle made of a permanent magnet, the in situ experiment is carried out to investigate the magnetization of hard magnetic materials. The results of these experiments clearly demonstrate that electron holography is a promising advanced transmission electron microscopy technique to characterize the electric and magnetic properties of nanomaterials.
Magnetic fields play an important role in supporting molecular clouds against gravitational collapse. The measured magnetic field strengths in molecular clods enable us to see the effect of magnetic fields in star-forming regions. People have used the Chandrasekhar and Fermi (CF) method to estimate magnetic field strength from observational quantities of molecular cloud density, turbulent velocity and polarization angle dispersion. However, previous studies obtained just one magnetic field strength over the quite large region of a molecular cloud by using the CF method. We here suggest a way to estimate magnetic field strength distribution in Orion A region. We used 450 and 850-micron polarization data of James Clerk Maxwell Telescope (JCMT). Magnetic field strengths were estimated in two wavelengths with 4 pixel resolutions of 16, 20, 24 and 28". Through statistical analysis, we proved the difference of magnetic field strengths between two wavelengths were caused by the difference of their beam sizes. Additionally, we calculated the radii of curvature of polarization segments to select a best pixel resolution for estimating the magnetic field distribution. The pixel resolution should be larger than a radius of curvature. We selected that 20 or 24" pixel resolutions are good choices towards Orion A region.
