  • Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (IPMSM) produces two kind of torque that Magnetic and Reluctance torque. The permanent magnet linkage flux ${\Psi}_a$ and d-axis and q-axis inductances have an important influence on the torque characteristic of IPMSM. Thus their accurate prediction is essential for predicting performance aspect such as the torque and flux-weakening capabilities. In this paper, the influence of barrier width on the ${\Psi}_a$ and $L_d$, $L_q$ is calculated by FEM analysis. Predictions are validated by comparison the average torques, using Maxwell Stress Tensor method.

  • Magnetization measurements have been carried out on grain aligned Hg-1223 with the applied field parallel to the c-axis. The temperature dependence of the lower critical field H$_{cl}$(T) was determined by considering the effect of the surface barrier on the magnetization. H$_{cl}$(T) have been determined .from magnetic hysteresis loops within the framework of the modified Kim-Anderson critical-state model, where the surface barrier and the lower critical field are explicitly considered. At high temperature, H$_{cl}$(T) is identified as H$_p$(T). This results are agreed with the theory of Bean-Livinston surface barriers.

  • In this paper, the optimal design of notch and barrier was carried out in order to improve characteristics of constant torque with minimizing the cogging torque occurred by teeth and slot structure. Optimized design was carried out by design of experiment and various characteristics including torque were studied by finite element method(FEM). In addition, in order to verify resonance frequency, natural frequency of the stator was analyzed by modal analysis.

Investigation on Etch Characteristics of FePt Magnetic Thin Films Using a $CH_4$/Ar Plasma

  • Magnetic random access memory (MRAM) is one of the prospective semiconductor memories for next generation. It has the excellent features including nonvolatility, fast access time, unlimited read/write endurance, low operating voltage, and high storage density. MRAM consists of magnetic tunnel junction (MTJ) stack and complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS). The MTJ stack is composed of various magnetic materials, metals, and a tunneling barrier layer. For the successful realization of high density MRAM, the etching process of magnetic materials should be developed. Among various magnetic materials, FePt has been used for pinned layer of MTJ stack. The previous etch study of FePt magnetic thin films was carried out using $CH_4/O_2/NH_3$. It reported only the etch characteristics with respect to the variation of RF bias powers. In this study, the etch characteristics of FePt thin films have been investigated using an inductively coupled plasma reactive ion etcher in various etch chemistries containing $CH_4$/Ar and $CH_4/O_2/Ar$ gas mixes. TiN thin film was employed as a hard mask. FePt thin films are etched by varying the gas concentration. The etch characteristics have been investigated in terms of etch rate, etch selectivity and etch profile. Furthermore, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy is applied to elucidate the etch mechanism of FePt thin films in $CH_4$/Ar and $CH_4/O_2/Ar$ chemistries.

스핀 밸브 Ta 하지층의 질소함유량 변화와 열처리 온도에 따른 자기적 특성 (Magnetic Properties of Spin Valve Ta Underlayer Depending on N2 Concentration and Annealing Temperature)

  • 본 연구에서는 스핀밸브 구조에서 하지층으로 많이 사용되고 있는 Ta 층에 질소를 첨가하여 질소량에 따른 자기적 특성과 열처리 결과를 비교 검토하였다. 또한 하지층에 질소를 첨가하여 확산 방지막으로서 역할과 기판과 하지층과의 접착력을 측정하여 비교하였다. 사용된 스핀밸브는 Si($SiO_2$)/Ta(TaN)/NiFe/CoFe/Cu/CoFe/FeMn/Ta 구조이다. Ta 박막에 비해 TaN 박막의 질소량이 증가할수록 증착률은 감소하였고, 비저항과 표면 거칠기는 증가하였다. 고온에서 열처리 후 측정한 XRD 결과를 보면 Si/Ta 박막에서는 규소화합물이 생성된 반면 Si/TaN 박막에서는 규소화합물을 발견할 수 없었다. 자기저항비(MR)와 교환결합자장($H_{ex}$)은 질소량이 4.0 sccm 이상에서는 감소하였다. 열처리 결과 자기저항비는 하지층이 Ta인 시편과 질소량이 4.0 sccm까지 혼합된 TaN 시편은 $200^{\circ}C$까지는 약 $0.5\%$ 정도 증가하다가 감소하였다. 기판과 하지층과의 접착력을 측정한 결과 Ta 박막보다 질소량이 8.0 sccm인 TaN 박막인 경우 약 2배 강한 접착력을 보였다. 본 연구 결과에 의하면 하지층 증착 시 아르곤 가스에 3.0 sccm 정도의 질소 가스를 혼합하여 사용하면 자기적 특성에 크게 영향을 주지 않으면서 확산 방지막, 접착력 향상등의 이점을 얻을 수 있으리라 사료된다.

Synthesis and Evaluation of Oleanolic Acid-Conjugated Lactoferrin for β-Amyloid Plaque Imaging

  • ${\beta}$-Amyloid accumulation in the brain is a pathological hallmark of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Since early detection of ${\beta}$-amyloid may facilitate more successful and timely therapeutic interventions, many investigators have focused on developing AD diagnostic reagents that can penetrate the blood-brain barrier (BBB). Oleanolic acid (OA) is a substance found in a variety of plants that has been reported to prevent the progression of AD in mice. In this study, we synthesized and evaluated a new radioligand in which OA was conjugated to lactoferrin (Lf, an iron-binding glycoprotein that crosses the BBB) for the diagnosis of AD. In an in vitro study in which OA-Lf was incubated with ${\beta}$-amyloid (1-42) aggregates for 24 h, we found that OA-Lf effectively inhibited ${\beta}$-amyloid aggregation and fibril formation. In vivo studies demonstrated that $^{123}I$-OA-Lf brain uptake was higher than$^{123}I$-Lf uptake. Therefore, radiolabeled OA-Lf may have diagnostic potential for ${\beta}$-amyloid imaging.
