PCD공구를 이용 미소가공시 표면거칠기 특성 (Characteristics of Surface Roughness in Micro fuming using PCD Tools)

  • This paper deals with the micro turning property of setting angle using diamond tool. The bed of the system has used the granite which has the thermal and vibrational characteristics superior to the cast iron bed for the common machine tool. To minimize the inner and outer vibration of the fuming system, an air pad system was manufactured and tested. The aero-static spindle system which has the excellent rotation accuracy was designed and manufactured. As a result of the micro-cutting test on aluminum alloy, tool setting angel have effected on surface roughness. From the results, the micro-cutting conditions hope to provide the useful actual data using in industrial fields.

  • A single-piece-machined-part has superior characteristics to an assembly of several pieces of part especially for aircraft components. It is necessary to develop high efficient 'multi-head router machine' for machining a large size single-piece-part on a large scale. In this type machine, many cutting chips are generated. These chips should be removed automatically f3r productivity and part precision. In this study, the design evaluation of the cutting chip collecting apparatus for 'multi-head router machine' was complemented using performance test and finite element analysis.

선반 주축의 회전운동 정도 측정 (Measuring of Rotational Accuracy of Lathe Spindle)

  • It is important to measure the rotational accuracy of lathe spindle as it affects to the qualities of all machines machined by the lathe using in industries. The bad rotational accuracy of lathe spindle are caused mainly by wearness of the spindle in using and quality of spindle when machining and using low level bearings. It occurs especially in case of lathes because the cutting force acting to work-piece act on one side to the spindle not to both sides symmetrically. Therefore in this study, constructing experimental apparatus for measuring of rotational accuracy by using eddy current type gap sensors AEC5706PS and sensors, s-06LN, data acquisition board DT9834(USB type) and software for data acquisition, DT Measure Foundry ver. 4.0.7 etc., error data acquired in the rotational accuracy test of lathe spindle are analysed in plots and statistical treatments.

  • Bond between reinforcing bar and surrounding concrete is supposed to transfer load safely in the process of design of reinforced concrete structures. The effects of defomation properties on bond of reinforcing bars to concrete are studied. Beam-end tests are used to investigate the effects of machining of bars in addition to rib angle and relative rib area. The test results show that bond strength of machined bars were higher than the conventional bars produced in factory. Higher rib height bars with rib angle $30^{\circ}{\sim}60^{\circ}$ showed higher bond strength than lower rib height bars with low angle.

집속이온빔장치에서의 이온빔축 얼라인먼트 (Alignment Method of Ion Beam Axis in Focused Ion Beam System)

  • This paper describes an alignment method of the ion column which is used for a focused-ion-beam machining system. The alignment parameters for mechanical and electrical components are introduced, and also sample images are used for evaluating the experiments. The experimental results show that geometrical positions of mechanical components have an influence on the quality of emitted ion beam. In addition, we can successfully align the traveling axis of ions by using mechanical and electrical methods.

고강도 볼트 카드늄 취성파괴 사례연구 (The Case Study on Cadmium Embrittlement Failure of High Strength Bolt)

  • It happened fractures on special bolt which supported main landing gear actuator up-lock rod of aircraft. Cracks were initiated mainly from the center hole and the external thread of the special bolt. To find out failure root causes, metallographic, fractographic analyses as well as test work were carried out. From the fractographic study by SEM work, fracture occurred by a brittle intergranular type failure. The fracture could be occurred primarily by solid-metal-induced embrittlement due to cadmium embrittler penetrated into the flaw existed after machining work for center hole and thread on the bolt during baking treatment processing to eliminate hydrogen. For its successful application, cadmium EP bolts require proper and adequate baking treatment after electroplating, and make no more drilled center hole on the bolt to prevent same failure.

  • Because CV Joint which is one of the component of automobile power train system communicates high power and performs power steering function, it requires high qualities such as high strength, high toughness and high fatigue resistance. This component undergoes a series of production processes such as forging, machining and heat treatment and required properties for this component depends on plastic deformation and heat treatment heavily. Therefore in this study, in order to these effects on mechanical properties due to plastic deformation and heat treatment we performed heat treatment following plastic deformation and then tensile test.

미소경 드릴링 머신의 시작과 감시에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development and the Monitoring of Micro Hole Drilling Machine)

  • Recently, the trends toward reduction in size and weight of industrial products increased the application of micro hole for manufacturing gadgets of high precision and gave rise to a great deal of interest for micro hole drilling M/C. Quite a few research work is performed on micro drilling on domestic basis compared with the tendency of analyzing cutting mechanism, adaptive control, monitoring of generally available drills of diameter greater than 1mm. This study adresses the design, manufacturing and controlling a micro hole drilling M/C with the overload detection instrument and the step feed mechanism. Controlling and monitoring of the drilling process are acomplished on PC basis for more user interfaces and effectiveness. The test machine of the results of this research shows a good foundation for extending further micro hole machining technique.

유한요소해석에 의한 승용차용 플레어 너트 단조공정의 최적설계 (Optimal Design of the Forging Processes of Flare Nut for Automobiles using Finite Element Analysis)

  • Flare nut is an important Part that used to joint a brake tube-end in automobiles. It was made of SWCH 10A by machining. But we studied to make it by metal forming. The main focus of this paper is to investigate an optimal forging processes for flare nut using the DEFORM$^{TM}$-3D. commercially available finite element code and tests. Actually an explicit finite element analysis of the flare nut forging processes has been carried out to predict an optimal shape of the flare nut and its results were reflected in the tests of the forging processes design for flare nut. The simulation results which had obtained from finite element analysis were contributed to the forging processes design for flare nut. An optimal shape of nave nut showed agreements with test results. Furthermore. this paper should contribute to a development of the forging process for a variety of parts.s.

표면미세가공시 발생하는 MEMS 구조물의 변형 억제 (Alleviating Deformation of MEMS Structure in Surface Micromachining)

  • By removing sacrificial layer through ashing process, movable MEMS structure on substrate can be fabricated in surface micromachining. However, MEMS structure includes, during the ashing process, the warping or buckling effects due to stress gradient along the vertical direction of thin film. In this study, we presented method for counteracting the unwanted deflection of MEMS structure and designed using character of deposit process to overcome limited design conditions. Unit cell patterns were designed with character of deposit shape, and their final shapes were adopted using Finite Element Method. Finally, RF MEMS switch was fabricated by surface micro machining as test vehicles. We checked out that alleviation effect for deformation of switch improved by 35%.
