The Study of Monitoring System for Enhancement Electrical Point-machine Maintenance (전기선로전환기 유지보수 향상을 위한 모니터링 시스템의 연구)

  • An electric point-machine which changes over a turnout so that it enables a train to be operated in the routine that a train is to proceed has been installed and used in most of the railways such as not only urban railways but also main-line railways. Most of the maintenance works in this electric point-machine is that the maintenance workers manually measure motor power, control power and display power in the site with the use of portable counters. Especially in case of NS or NS-AM electric point machine, the maintenance cycle is so frequent that during the operation casualty accidents caused by carelessness occurs as well as more staff is required for this measurement. In this paper we propose a system for monitoring the state of electric point machine installed in the site to improve maintenance efficiency and it is expected that this monitoring system confirms any measured values on electric point machines in real-time and improves maintenance efficiency.

  • Concrete surface grinding is required for flatness and adhesiveness of concrete surface. The procedure is, however, labor intensive and has a hazardous work condition. Also, the productivity and the quality of concrete surface grinding depend on the levels of worker. Thus, the development of remote controlled concrete surface grinding equipment is necessary to prevent the environmental pollution and to protect the workers from hazardous work condition. However, it is difficult to evaluate the grinded surface objectively in a remote controlled system. The machine vision system developed in this study takes the images of grinded surface with the network camera for image processing. Then, by representing the quality test results to the graphic MMI program of the remote control station, the quality control system is constructed. The machine vision algorithm means the image processing algorithm of grinded concrete surface and this paper presents the objective quality control standard of grinded concrete surface through the application of the suggested algorithm.

  • This study investigated use cases of machine learning technology in domestic medical, manufacturing, finance, automobile, urban sectors and those in overseas mining industry. Through a literature survey, it was found that the machine learning technology has been widely utilized for developing medical image information system, real-time monitoring and fault diagnosis system, security level of information system, autonomous vehicle and integrated city management system. Until now, the use cases have not found in the domestic mining industry, however, several overseas projects have found that introduce the machine learning technology to the mining industry for improving the productivity and safety of mineral exploration or mine development. In the future, the introduction of the machine learning technology to the mining industry is expected to spread gradually.

A Study of Aggressive Driver Detection Combining Machine Learning Model and Questionnaire Approaches (기계학습 모델과 설문결과를 융합한 공격적 성향 운전자 탐색 연구)

  • In this paper, correlation analysis was performed between questionnaire and machine learning based aggressive tendency measurements. this study is part of a aggressive driver detection using machine learning and questionnaire. To collect two types tendency from questionnaire and measurements system, we constructed experiments environments and acquired the data from 30 drivers. In experiment, the machine learning based aggressive tendency measurements system was designed using a driver behavior detection model. And the model was constructed using accelerate and brake position data and hidden markov model method through supervised learning. We performed a correlation analysis between two types tendency using Pearson method. The result was represented to high correlation. The results will be utilize for fusing questionnaire and machine learning. Furthermore, It is verified that the machine learning based aggressive tendency is unique to each driver. The aggressive tendency of driver will be utilized as measurements for advanced driver assistance system such as attention assist, driver identification and anti-theft system.

A Study on Direct Cooling and Washing Machine for Energy Saving-Type Dyeing Machine (에너지 절감형 염색기용 직접냉각수세장치에 대한 연구)

  • Due to increase in production of the domestic textile industry, energy consumption in textile industry is still growing. Traditional dyeing machine has high temperature and pressure. Accordingly, it uses an indirect cooling system that utilize a heat exchanger to cool after the dyeing. However, this indirect cooling system consumes a great deal of water, takes prolonged periods of time to process and, most importantly, because of the condensing of the dye at the cooling stage requires further energy in reduction cleaning and washing process. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a direct cooling washing machine that replaces the traditional indirect cooling system to provide coolant into the dyeing machine. The newly proposed direct cooling washing machine will still use parts of the traditional dying but will be able to skip the cooling as well as the reduction cleaning and washing process, resulting in less processing time and lower energy consumption. Also, we made a prototype. The prototype was applied to dyeing machine to test the direct cooling washing machine's ability and dyeing property. Additionally, we compared indirect cooling washing machine with direct cooling washing machine about ability, material and energy saving assessment.

Development of an Real-time Multi-machine Power System Simulator using Personal Computers and Fast Ethernet (개인용 컴퓨터와 고속 이더넷을 이용한 다기 다모선 전력 시스템 실시간 시뮬레이터 개발에 관한 연구)

  • As the complexity of the power system becomes higher, tests of the new devices, such as exciter and PCS(Power Conversion System) of the distributed generation sources, in the real operating condition are more important. However tests of the unverified devices in the real power system may cause hazardous malfunction of the system. In order to avoid this problem, power devices may be tested with the real-time simulators instead of the real power system. This paper presents an real-time multi machine power system simulator using PCs(Personal Computer) and Fast Ethernet. Developed real-time simulator performs the electro-mechanical dynamic simulation of multi-machine power system by the network distributed computing technique. Because the simulator consists of usual PCs and Fast Ethernet, it is possible to make up a simulation system very cheaper than the conventional real-time simulator which consists of dedicated expensive hardware devices. The performance of the developed simulator is tested and verified with the scaled model excitation system. The test which adjust the control parameters of the exciter is performed with the well-known New England 10 generator 39 bus sample power system.

  • This paper demonstrates the CAS technique of analyzing the nature and the structure of the numerical error for education and research purposes. This also illustrates the CAS approach in experimenting with the numerical operations in an arbitrary computer number system and also in doing error analysis in a visual manner.
