Structural Design for Performance Improvement of Line Center (라인센터의 성능향상을 위한 구조설계)

  • Recently, the field of the engineering has been studied about optimum design continuously. Verified data by comparison with simulation and dynamic characteristic analysis enables the design of a machine tool to be modified easily and effectively concerning to the mode shape of the vibration. Especially, BC-500 Line Center has got some problems causing vibration which mainly come from Column and ATC part. So it is necessary to solve those problems by the two kinds of method such as changing structural design and reinforcing with ribs. In this paper, column and ATC part of BC-500 Line center are modified by an optimum design by the analysing method of FEM to avoid vibration. As a result, a more stable machine tool was designed by this simulation as optimum condition.

  • NC machining of large screw which is usually used as a part in an extruder for injection molding is done on 3-axis turning machine, and it is very time-consuming process. Not only in machining but in preparing part program for a NC machine, it requires very long time because the shape of the screw is not easy to model when using an existing general CAD/CAM software even though it is workstation level software. In addition, tool path generation procedure for NC turning for screw shape is also very tedious one because large amount of data for cutter location point must be produced and there is no specific CAM software for the machining. In this paper. development of a CAM system for screw machining which saves the role of CAD software by use of menu driven data input system for various screw shapes is introduced.

  • Based on the relative velocity method and the inverse kinematics theory, this paper presents an automated system for designing and manufacturing of an open type cylindrical cam with a rotating follower(OCRF). In the first part, this paper defines the relative velocity method for OCRF and calculates the contact point by using the coordinate transformation technique. In the second part, it generates NC Code of a CNC machine center for inverse kinematics by using the cutter location and the cutter orientation of OCRF. Finally, the automated CADICAM program developed in the paper shows an example on the desip and manufacture process of OCRF.

  • This paper describes a development of conversational program for lathe. The proposed program is a NC programming system specialized for use in machine tool controls. Its easy to use graphic interface built-in database capabilities make it an ideal way to program part on the shop floor. In order to manage effectively machining process it proposed the algorithm of tree structures for design processing. Also using interative structure it proposed the methods of conversational programming to generate automatically NC program.

  • By the reason of increased demand of high productivity and quality, the manufacturer have an effort in many directions of a machine tool industries. Among there, we proposed method of decreasing displacement in MC(machining center). In other words, Quality related with vibration of a tool cutting products. For decreasing it, improved by optimizing a shape of the column-part and acceleration curves of motors. In this paper we could find design factors has much influence on decreasing the displacement using the DOE(Design of Experiments) and optimized the level of the factors using $ADAMS^{(R)}$ and $MINITAB.^{(R)}$ And we suggest optimized a acceleration curve using $Matlab^{(R)}$.

  • The purpose of this research is to develop a method for part-machine grouping subject to production and management constraints. In the proposed integer programming model, minimization of operating and material-handling costs are considered as an objective function. The model allows one to recognize the existing parts and machines into disaggregated cells. New constraints are introduced in the model to resolve unbalancing capacity and bottleneck problems. It is found that this approach could have a better flexibility on cell size design for mote alternatives than conventional methods. Experimental grouping and comparison studies with ROC algorithm are given for evaluation purposes.

  • This paper deals with on (S-1, S) spare-part inventory model for multi-stage machine repair problem with attrition. The steady-state availability of the system is maximized under some constraints such as total cost, available space etc.. The problem is formulated as a closed queueing network and the system availability is calculated by Buzen's computational algorithm. In order to find the optimal numbers of spare units and repair channels for each operating stage, the problem is formulated as a non-linear integer programming(NLIP) problem and an efficient algorithm. which is a natural extension of the new Lawler-Bell algorithm of Sasaki et el., is used to solve the NLIP problem. A numerical example is given to illustrate the algorithm.

  • This paper addresses a development work of a SLA apparatus on laboratory basis. The SLA test machine is composed of optical, movement, curing and control subsystems. Optical part is performed by a He-Cd laser with mirror combination and mechanical movement is achieved by X-Y table. The developed system is evaluated by several test runs, and shows a good precision capability in forming a basic part. The technique used in this work can be extended to replace the high technology transfer cost of commercial RP machine.

  • On-machine measuring system of Numerically Control(NC) machines permit computer control of basic material cutting processes of moulds. A part of mould designed within a CAD/CAM system can be manufactured by generation of tool paths by the measuring systems. Since the three-dimensional geometry by AutoCAD of the part is contained in the data base, the manufacturing specialist combined with the appropriate software simulation, can not only create the commands to drive the virtual measuring and standardization of measuring modules but also can check for mistakes by viewing the computer graphics simulation of the tool cutting sequence.

  • End-milling have been used widely in industrial system because it is effective to a material manufacturing with various shape. Recently the end-milling processing is needed the high-precise technique with good surface roughness and rapid time in precision machine part and electronic part. The optimum surface roughness has an effect on end-milling condition such as, cutting direction spindle speed, feed rate and depth of cut, etc. Therefore this study was carried out to presume for mutual relation of end-milling condition to get the optimum surface roughness by regression analysis. The results shown that coefficient of determination($\textrm{R}^2$) of regression equation has a fine reliability of 87.5% and regression equation of surface rough is made by regression analysis.
