Morpheme Recovery Based on Naïve Bayes Model (NB 모델을 이용한 형태소 복원)

  • In Korean, spelling change in various forms must be recovered into base forms in morphological analysis as well as part-of-speech (POS) tagging is difficult without morphological analysis because Korean is agglutinative. This is one of notorious problems in Korean morphological analysis and has been solved by morpheme recovery rules, which generate morphological ambiguity resolved by POS tagging. In this paper, we propose a morpheme recovery scheme based on machine learning methods like Na$\ddot{i}$ve Bayes models. Input features of the models are the surrounding context of the syllable which the spelling change is occurred and categories of the models are the recovered syllables. The POS tagging system with the proposed model has demonstrated the $F_1$-score of 97.5% for the ETRI tree-tagged corpus. Thus it can be decided that the proposed model is very useful to handle morpheme recovery in Korean.

The Study on the Optimal Working Condition for Vibration, Surface Roughness and Cutting Temperature in End-milling (엔드밀 가공시 진동, 표면거칠기, 절삭온도에 미치는 최적가공조건에 관한 연구)

  • End-milling has been used widely in industrial system because it is effective to a material manufacturing with various shapes. Recently the end-milling processing is needed the high-precise technique with good surface roughness and rapid time in precision machine part and electronic part. The optimum mechanical vibration of main spindle, surface roughness and cutting temperature have an effect on end-milling condition such as, cutting direction, revolution of spindle, feed rate and depth of cut, etc. Therefore, this study carried to decide the working condition for optimum mechanical vibration of main spindle, surface roughness and cutting temperature using design of experiments, ANOVA and characteristic function. From the results of experimentation, mechanical vibration has an effect on revolution of spindle, radial depth of cut, and axial depth of cut. The surface roughness has an effect on cutting direction, revolution of spindle and depth of cut. And then the optimum condition used design of experiments is upward cutting In cutting direction, 600 rpm in revolution of spindle, 240 mm/min in feed rate, 2 mm in axial depth of cut and 0.25 mm in radial depth of cut. By design of experiments and characteristic function, it is effectively represented shape characteristics of mechanical vibration, surface roughness and cutting temperature in end-milling.

  • Surface texturing is widely applied to reduce friction and improve the reliability of machine elements. Despite extensive theoretical studies to date, most research has been limited to parallel thrust bearings, mechanical face seals, piston rings, etc. However, most sliding bearings have a convergent film shape in the sliding direction and the hydrodynamic pressure is mainly generated by the wedge action. The results of surface texturing on inclined slider bearings are largely insufficient. This paper is the first part of a recent study focusing on the effect of the groove position on the lubrication performances of inclined slider bearings. We model a slider bearing with one rectangular groove on a fixed pad and analyze the continuity and Navier-Stokes equations using a commercial computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code, FLUENT. The results show that the film convergence ratio and the groove position have a significant influence on the pressure and velocity distributions. There are groove positions to maximize the supporting load with the film convergence ratio and the groove reduces the frictional force acting on the slider. Therefore, the proper groove position not only improves the load-carrying capacity of the slider bearings but also reduces its frictional loss. The present results apply to various surface-textured sliding bearings and can lead to further studies.

  • It is currently well known that surface textures act as lubricant reservoirs, entrap wear debris, and hydrodynamic bearings, which can lead to certain increases in load-carrying capacities. Until recently, the vast majority of research has focused on parallel sliding machine components such as thrust bearings, mechanical face seals, piston rings, etc. However, most sliding bearings have a convergent film shape in the sliding direction and their hydrodynamic pressure is mainly generated by the wedge action. Following the first part of the present study that investigates the effect of groove position on the lubrication performances of inclined slider bearings, this paper focuses on the effects of groove depths and film thicknesses. Using a commercial computational fluid dynamics (CFD) code, FLUENT, the continuity and Navier-Stokes equations are numerically analyzed. The results show that the film thickness and groove depth have a significant influence on the pressure distribution. The maximum pressure occurs at the groove depth where the vortex is found and, as the depth increases, the pressure decreases. There is also a groove depth to maximize the supporting load with the film thickness. The friction force acting on the slider decreases with deeper grooves. Therefore, properly designed groove depths, depending on the operating conditions, can improve the load-carrying capacity of inclined slider bearings as compared to the bearings without a groove.

Micronized Cellulose as a Paper Additive and a Carrier for Papermaking Chemicals

  • This article portrays special cellulose fibers, which are designed to be a functional additive and a carrier for papermaking chemicals. The first part of the presentation deals with the micronized $ARBOCEL^{(R)}$ cellulose fibers, which are used as a functional paper/paperboard additive. In particular as a bulk and speed aid. The detailed description of the micronized $ARBOCEL^{(R)}$ fibers, their function and effects on papermaking process and paper products are given. The second part of the study describes the concept of fiber-based papermaking chemicals. A new generation of fiber-based papermaking chemicals were presented for the first time at the PTS Pulp Technology Symposium 2005, and then several articles were published in various magazine in Asia ("Paper Asia"), the US ("Pulp & Paper"). and Europe ("Wochenblatt fuel Papierfabrikation"). The information generated quite an interest in the paper industry. Extensive studies of these papermaking additives have been made recently, new information obtained, and the compounds have gained more recognition in the industry. The company J. Rettenmaier und Soehne developed a group of fiber-based papermaking additives. They include combination of fibers with sizing agents, starch, fluorochemicals, minerals, biocides and some others. This article presents in-depth study of the AKD modified micronized cellulose as an example of the fiber-based papermaking chemicals concept. The material of the present paper is based mostly on the results of the pilot paper machine study at the Paper Research Institute PTS (Heidenau, Germany), and includes case studies from the mills, which used $ARBOCELPLUS^{(R)}-AKD$ compounds. It should be noted that the $ARBOCELPLUS^{(R)}$ compounds were not designed to replace traditional additives in paper industry. They should rather be used in those areas, where application of "normal" chemicals is especially problematic

Utilization of machining templates to improve 5-axis CAM machining process (5축 CAM 가공 작업 프로세스 개선을 위한 가공 템플릿 활용)

  • Currently, a lot of efforts to make increases the manufacturing efficiency have tried and there is growing the interest to implementing the machining operation through CAM automation and optimization. This kind of movement has shown gradually in 5X milling as well as 3X milling task. By the way, in case of 5X milling, it is difficult to hire the CAM experts who is an experience for 5X machining and also it has too big trouble to use them due to high cost. For this reason, you can see the manufacturer who is concern the CAM S/W to provide the NC automation program that beginners can generate easily the 5X milling in short term and the existing 5X milling process can be improved. These requirements need to make a NC automation process including the practical machining strategies same as the generation by NC expert. In order to support this, it is necessary to directly apply the 3D machining part based on NC template which includes the machining procedures, standard cutter library, auto machine area selection, analyze tool for part shape, machining condition setting considering the material stiffness to be provided by CimatronE and it should be created the 5axis machining data by a minimized operation. With user-friendly, CimatronE's NC machining automation tools improve the 5-axis machining process and speed up the process, maximizing work efficiency and improving product productivity compared to existing machining tasks.

  • The LED (Liquid Emitting Diode) frame device is a big part of the representative display industry in Korea. LED is an essential part for TV, monitor, notebook, and mobile phone. In Japan, Taiwan, China and other countries, investment in LEDs has been strengthened, and productivity has become an important issue. However, as the size of the parts becomes smaller, the inconsistent inspection by the human eye becomes a problem of reliability, so that the automatic inspection process becomes an essential issue in the field of LED module inspection. In this paper, we investigate defects in visual inspection process using computer vision technology. The inspection of the LED frame is made quickly and accurately, thereby improving the efficiency of the process and shortening the inspection time. As a result of applying the inspection system to the field, we confirmed that it is possible to inspect quickly and accurately.

  • Rapid advance in information technology requires high performance devices with compact size. Integrated multi-layer electronic element with different functions enables those compact devices to possess various performances and powerful capabilities. In mass production, the multi-layer electronic element is manufactured as a bulk type with a large number of parts for productivity. However, this may cause the electronic part to be damaged in the cutting process of the bulk elements to separate into each part. Therefore the cutting performance of multi-layer element bulk is playing an important role in the view of production efficiency. This study focuses on the cutting characteristics of multi-layer electronic elements. In order to increase the efficiency, the vibration cutting method was applied to the blade cutting machine. Flexure hinge structure, which is an physical amplifier of increasing displacement, was attached to the vibration cutting device for machining efficiency. The behaviors of flexure hinge were modeled with Lagrange equation and simulated with finite element method (FEM). Performance of hinge structure was verified by experimental modal analysis (EMA) for hinge structure to be tuned to the specific mode of vibrations. Cutting experiments of multi-layer elements were conducted with the proposed vibrating cutting module, and the characteristics was analyzed.

  • Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) is a useful rapid prototyping technique for the manufacture of three dimensional (3D) solid objects directly from a scanning data. A new approach called a Selective Multi-Laser Sintering (SMLS) system has been developed at Korea Institute Machinery & Materials (KIMM) as an industrial type SFFS. This SMLS machine is built with a frame, heaters, nitrogen supply part, laser system. This system uses the dual laser and 3D scanner made in $Solutionix^{TM}$ to improve the precision and speed for large objects. The three-dimensional solid objects are made of polyamide powder. The investigation on each part of SMLS system is performed to determine the proper theirs design and the effect of experimental parameters on making the 3D objects. The temperature of the system has a great influence on sintering the polymer. Because the stability of the powder temperature prevents the deformation of each layer, the controls of the temperature in both the system and the powders are very important during the process. Therefore, we simulated the temperature distribution of build room using the temperature analysis with ANSYS program. Selected radiant heater is used to raise temperature of powder to melting point temperature. The laser parameters such as scan spacing, scan speed, laser power and laser delay time affect the production the 3D objects too. The combination of the slow scan speed and the high laser power shows the good results without the layer curling. The work is under way to evaluate the effect of experimental parameters on process and to produce the various objects. We are going to experiment continuously to improve the size accuracy and surface roughness.

A Study on the Preocessing of high Runctional Composites and the Evaluation of Its Characteristics (고기능성 복합재료의 제조와 그 특성평가에 관한 연구)

  • Filament winding method is widely used for composite fabrications using low viscosity liquid for-mation and processing asymmetrical structures of pressure vessel pipe rocket motor case etc. The filament winding method is affected by several parameters such as pot life of process time viscosi-ty of resin filament winding temperature and schedules curing condition and post curing condi-tion of resin. To develope high functional composite materials the rotation(5, 15, 20, 30rpm) of the winding machine was controlled by D.C motor. And the wiper to give proper tension was equipped between strand and resin bath. The resin is hooked by the design wiper. The adequate cure schedule was found by DSC. NOL ring test is carried out to investigate the basic physical properties such as design technology. The void contents in filament winding is generally higher than that of the prepreg laminated plate. These high contents of void can make a crack in resin in spite of low deformation. These problem was solved by giving tension in processing. To improve the characteristics of fiber volume fraction void contents resin/fiber bonding the winding speedc is changed under constant tension. It was found that resin impregnation was not different from in fiber contents void contents at the range of 0.5~1kg tension but it was found that resin was not impregnated at the above of 1.5kg tension. In burst test a pure PE liner was failed at a nozzle part under the $14kg/\textrm{cm}^2$ pressure but a pressure vessel of CNG was failed at a cylinder part under the $200kg/\textrm{cm}^2$ pressure.
