Large linear span makes difficult to predict, so this study is important to the security and code system. It has been studied about the non-linear binary sequences having low correlation values and large linear span. In this paper we analyze the linear span of $S^r_a(t)=Tr^m_1\{[Tr^n_m(a{\alpha}^t+{\alpha}^{dt})]^r\}$ ($a{\in}GF(2^m)$, $0{\leq}t{\leq}2^m-2$) where n=2m and $d=2^{m-2}(2^m+3)$.
The effect of $Cd^{2+}$ on stomatal apertures of epidermal strips and intact leaves in Commelina communis L. was investigated. Cadmium stimulated stomatal opening. The stomata, treated with 100 $\mu$M $Cd^{2+}$ opened to a degree of about 8.38 fm, but the stomata, treated with no cadmium opened to 3.74 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. In order to show that there was no mechanical or osmotic impediment preventing the stomata in the epidermal strips, salicylic acid (SA) and abscisic acid (ABA) were used. The treatment of 100 $\mu$M SA and 1 $\mu$M ABA inhibited 14% and 28% of stomatal opening, respectively. Other heavy metals such as $Al^{3+} and Ag^{2+}$ were also used to investigate the effect of the stomatal apertures. The treatment of $Al^{3+} and Ag^{2+}$ also stimulated 19% and 41% of stomatal opening. To understand how cadmium open stomata, the effect of cadmium on the K+ influx into the epidermal strips was investigated. $Cd^{2+}$, SA, ABA inhibited 98%, 28%, 34% of K+ uptake respectively. 3-weeks old Commelina was transferred to and grown in Hoagland solution (0,5 mM $Cd^{2+}$, 10 mM $Cd^{2+}$) for 4 days and stomatal conductance were measured. The treatment of 5 mM $Cd^{2+}$ and 10 mM $Cd^{2+}$ showed about 51% and 70% inhibition of stomatal conductance, respectively Therefore, it could be concluded that stomata in epidermal strips and intact leaves behaved differently and cadmium- stimulated stomatal opening was due to the result of cadmium uptake into the epidermal strips instead of K+. When oral microorganisms were sampled from occlusal surfaces of caries and non-caries teeth, $3.43\times10^5$ CFU and $3.47\times10^3$ CFU of bacteria were counted on MSB agar plates, respectively. All the 20 colonies isolated from a caries surface were Streptococcus mutans but, only two of 20 colonies were identified as Streptococcus mutans by API test. S. mutans SM1 from caries tooth and S. mutans SM2 from non-caries tooth showed the same results except for $\alpha-galactosidase$ activity on sugar fermentation tests and biochemical tests. For the bacterial replication, both SM1 and SM2 were actively multiplicated at pH 5.5. And the viability of SM1 was high at 20% of sucrose, while that of SM2 was high at 5% of sucrose in the media. SM1 actively replicated at 16mM of $CaCl_2$, 160mM of KCl, and 6.4mM of $MgCl_2$, and the replication of SM2 was increased at 16mM of $CaCl_2$, 40mM of KCl, 6.4mM of $MgCl_2$. At 1mM of sodium bicarbonate and sodium phosphate, both bacteria were actively multiplicated. SM1 and SM2 were actively replicated at 1mM and 10mM of Tris, respectively. For potassium phosphate buffer, SM1 grew well proportionally to the concentration up to 100mM, while the growth of SM2 were inhibited by the increase of concentration. The 4.6 kb of gtf gene was amplified with a pair of primer, gtfB-F961 and gtfC-R5574 by polymerase chain reaction from the chromosomal DNA of SM1 and SM2. When 4.6kb bands were eluted from gel and were treated with restriction enzyme, EcoR I produced the same RFLP like 0.8kb and 3.8kb of DNA fragments for S. mutans GS-5, SM1 and SM2. By Hind III, the PCR products weren't digested for S. mutans GS-5 and SM1, but 3 fragments such as 2.4kb, 1.8kb and 400bp were examined for SM2. These results indicated the difference between gtf genes of SM1 and SM2. BamH I treatment showed 4 fragments for SM1 and SM2, while the 3 fragments for S. mutans GS-5. The PCR products were not digested by Kpn I, Sma I, Xho I and Pst I.
This study was carried out to investigate influence of tree height on vegetable growth, productivity, and labor input in 5 year old slender spindle 'Fuji'/M.9 apple trees planted with the tree space of $3.2{\times}1.2m$ and trained to the tree height of 2.5m in the apple orchard of Apple Research Station, NIHHS, RDA in Gunwi County, Korea. Tree height was extended to the tree height of 4.0m for two years. And then, the tree height was restricted to 2.5 (control), 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0m in 8th year. Yield per 10a was 46, 25, and 4% higher at the tree height of 4.0, 3.5, and 3.0m than at the tree height of 2.5m respectively in first year and 17, 12, and 10% higher respectively, indicating the taller tree, the higher yield. Soluble solid contents was highest in the height of 2.5m than in any other treatments for 2 years, but fruit skin color was not clear. Labor input was increased parallel with the increase of tree height, but yield per labor input was decreased. Gross income and net income per 10a were increased parallel with the increase of tree height in first year, but not increased in second year. In considering production, labor input, and economic efficiency, the optimum tree height of slender spindle 'Fuji'/M.9 apple planted with the tree space of $3.2{\times}1.2m$ was presumed to be 3.0~3.5m.
This study was carried out to investigate the effect of cadmium ion on activities of cadmium-adapted malate dehydrogenase (adapted-MDH), which is defined to be an enzyme obtained from an extreme cadmium-tolerant yeast Hansenula anomaul B-7 grown in medium containing 1 mM cadmium ion. Cadmium-nonadapted malate dehydrogenase (nonadapted-MDH), which is defined to be enzyme expressed in the cells grown in $Cd^{2+}$ -free medium was also characterized by the same manner. Activities of the adapted-MDH and the nonadapted-MDH were strongly induced to 450% and to 150% in comparision with the control examined with 1 mM $Cd^{2+}$, respectively. The adapted-MDH activity was stimulated to 147%, 150%, and 135% compared with the control analyzed with 1 mM $Zn^{2+}$, 1 mM $Mn^{2+}$, and 1 mM $Ca^{2+}$, respectively and to 925%, and 250% compared with the control analyzed in the presence of 2 mM $Cd^{2+}$, and 2.5 mM $Zn^{2+}$, respectively. Km values of the adapted-MDH and the nonadapted-MDH were calculated to be the same 6.9 mM for L-malate, respectively. The Km value of the nonadapted-MDH was not changed by $Cd^{2+}$ while Vmax of the nonadapted-MDH was increased by $Cd^{2+}$. In contrast, both the Km and the Vmax values of the adapted-MDH were changed by $Cd^{2+}$.
Some properties of an extracellular cytosine deaminase produced from Arthrobacter sp.JH-13 were examined after 20-80% of ammonium sulfate fractionation. Among some substrates, this enzyme utilized cytosine and 5-fluorocytosine as a substrate. The optimum pH and temperature for the activity of this enzyme were found to be near 8.0 and $40^{\circ}C$, respectively. The ensyme was more stable in 0.2M of Tris-HCl buffer than 0.2M of potassium phosphate buffer. The enzyme was generally stable below $50^{\circ}C$, but inactivated completely at $70^{\circ}C$. 1mM of $Fe^{3+},\;K^+\;and\;Na^+$ increased the enzyme activity, but 0.01mM of $Co^{2+},\;Cu^{2+},\;Ni^{2+},\;Hg^{2+},\;Ag^{2+},\;Zn^{2+},\;Ba^{2+},\;and\;Mg^{2+}$ markedly inactivated the enzyme activity. 0.1mM of p-chloromercuribenzoate, trichloroacetic acid, and N-ethylmaleimide compleyely inhibited the enzyme activity, but 0.1mM of 2-mercaptoethanol slightly increased the enzyme activity.

The optimum sampling area which can be applied to the benthic community study is estimated from large survey data in the Songdo tidal flat and subtidal zone of Youngil Bay, Korea. A total of 250 samples by 0.02 $m^2$ box corer for the benthic fauna in Songdo tidal flat and 50 samples by 0.1 $m^2$ van Veen grab in Youngil Bay were taken from the total sampling area of 5 $m^2$. It was assumed that the sampling area could contain sufficient information on sediment fauna, if cumulative number of species, ecological indices, and similarity index by cluster analysis reflect the similarity level of 75% to those found at total sampling area (5 $m^2$). A total of 56 and 60 species occurred from Songdo tidal flat and Youngil Bay, respectively. The cumulative curve of the species number ($N_{sp}$) as a function of the sampling area (A in $m^2$ ) was fitted as $N_{sp}=37.379A^{0.257}$ ($r^2=0.99$) for intertidal fauna and $N_{sp}=40.895A^{0.257}$ ($r^2=0.98$) for subtidal fauna. Based on these curves and 75% of similarity to the total sampling area (5 $m^2$), the optimum sampling area was proposed as 1.6 $m^2$ for the intertidal and 1.5 $m^2$ for the subtidal fauna. Ecological indices (species diversity, richness, evenness and dominance indices) were again calculated on the basis of species composition in differently simulated sample sizes. Changes in ecological indices with these sample sizes indicated that samplings could be done by collecting fauna from < 0.5 $m^2$-1.5 $m^2$ on the Songdo tidal flat and from < 0.5 $m^2$-1.2 $m^2$ in Youngil Bay. Changes in similarity level of all units of each simulated sample size showed that sampling area of 0.3 $m^2$ (Songdo tidal flat) and 0.6 $m^2$ (Youngil Bay) should be taken to obtain a similarity level of 75%. In conclusion, sampling area which was determined by cumulative number of species, ecological indices and similarity index by cluster analysis could be determined as 1.5 $m^2$ (0.02 $m^2$ box corer, n=75) for Songdo tidal flat and 1.2 $m^2$ (0.1 $m^2$ van Veen grab, n=12) for Youngil Bay. If these sampling areas could be covered in the field survey, population densities of seven dominant species comprising 68% of the total faunal abundance occurring on Songdo tidal flat and six species comprising 90% in Youngil Bay can be estimated at the precision level of P=0.2.
The effect of methylglyoxal-bis (guanylhydrazone) (MGBG) and ethylene synthesis inhibitors on adventitious root formation from soybean cotyledon in relation to ethylene production and endogenous polyamine content was investigated. Cotyledon explants cultured on rooting medium formed numerous adventitious rook on the cut surfaces after 2 weeks of culture. However when cultured on rooting medium supplemented with MGBG, the root formation was strongly inhibited, its inhibitory effect was reserved when cultured on medium with MGBG + spermine, MGBG + CoCl$_2$ and MGBG + spermine+CoC1$_2$. A slight reversion of the rooting inhibition was observed in 10$^{-3}$ M MGBG +10$^{-5}$ M spermine treatment, whereas it caused a significant effect in 10$^{-3}$ M MGBG +10$^{-4}$ M treatment .Ethylene production and endogenous polymine content was investgated in 10$^{-3}$ M MGBG , 10$^{-3}$ M MGBG +10$^{-5}$ Mspermine, 10$^{-3}$ M MGBG +10$^{-4}$ M CoCl$_2$and 10$^{-3}$ M MGBG +10$^{-5}$ M spermine +10$^{-4}$ M CoCl$_2$treatments. Ethylene production highest in 10$^{-3}$ M MGBG +10$^{-5}$ M spermine treatment was higher than control. In 10$^{-3}$ M MGBG +10$^{-5}$ M spermine + 10$^{-4}$ M CoCl$_2$ treatment, ethilene production was lowest, whereas polyamine level was highest.

Various M2M applications have different quality-of-service(QoS) requirements to be implemented practically. QoS requirements are normally data rate and delay constraint. However, there are limited number of wireless communication chip solutions which cannot support QoS requirements for all M2M application. Hence, aggregated usage of plural wireless communication chip solutions should be needed to implement M2M applications. In this paper, we consider the case that two wireless communication chips using random access protocol work together to transmit data of an M2M application. In such case, data rate and delay performance are mathematically analyzed. In our results, practical data rate can be improved from 2.5 to 7 times while delay constraints are satisfied if we simply use two wireless communication chips together.
