  • Generally superconducting generators(S. G.'s) will be classified into 2 types according to their field coil shape. The first one is race-trace type and the other is saddle type. Race-track type S.G.'s have almost the same structure with conventional salient pole generators which are being used as largely small scale machines with more than 4 poles. On the other hand saddle type S.G.'s correspond to conventional cylindrical generators with 2 poles used for large turbines in power plants. In this paper 1MVA S.G. with saddle type field coil is electromagnetically designed and based on the research results from development of 30kVA S.G. with race-track type field oils in our group. other parts such as cooling systems and power leads are presented.

Effects of Fine-slits for High Transmittance in MVA-mode LCD

  • In this paper, we propose an MVA mode cell structure with improved optical characteristics. Our MVA cell has an electrode with fine-slits. Optical characteristics of our proposed structure were compared with those without fine-slits. Moreover, we varied the interval as well as the widths of fine-slits in order to appreciate the effect of fine-slits. Optical characteristics of these cells were calculated with 3DFEM solver, TechWiz LCD. It was confirmed that the transmittance can be improved by more than 7% with fine-slits.

  • 한국전력공사에서는 전압원 인버터형 FACTS 기기인 UPFC를 전남 강진군 강진변전소에 설치(2003. 5. 23준공) 운전하였다. 강진 UPFC는 한전과 (주)효성이 공동으로 투자하고, 지멘스와의 기술제휴를 통해 개발하였으며, 40MVA 병렬인버터, 40MVA 직럴인버터로 구성되어 총 80MVA 용량이다. 준공이후 2년여에 걸친 운전으로, 강진UPFC의 고장정지는 현저히 줄었다. 본 논문에서는 강진 UPFC의 주요 이벤트, 고장해소 및 설비의 신뢰성 향상을 위한 대응 조치들에 대해 정리하였다.

  • 본 논문은 (주)효성 중공업연구소에서 국책과제를 통해 자체 개발한 MMC(Modular Multi-level Converter) type ${\pm}12kV$ 25MVA HVDC 시스템의 시험결과에 대해 소개한다. 제주에 구축된 HVDC 실증단지는 국내 유일의 MMC type 전압형 HVDC 시스템이며 11-레벨의 AC 출력 전압을 형성하는 2개의 컨버터가 Back-to-Back 형태로 구성되어 있다. 각 컨버터의 AC 출력단은 각각 계통과 풍력발전단지에 연계되어 풍력발전단지에서 생산된 전력을 계통으로 전송하는 역할을 한다. 본 논문에서는 국책과제의 정량적 목표항목을 달성하기 위한 시험을 수행한 결과에 대해서 소개한다.

  • 전기로와 같은 고압, 대용량의 산업응용분야에서 전원 안정화를 목적으로 하는 변동부하에 의해 발생되는 정상분 및 역상분의 무효전력을 보상하기 위한 고성능의 STATCOM의 개발이 요구되었다. 본 논문에서는 POSCO ICT에서 개발한 22.9kV 5MVA STATCOM(static synchronous compensator)에 대해 기술하였다. 개발된 STATCOM은 다단 멀티레벨 컨버터(Cascaded Multilevel Converter) 방식으로 Delta 구성하였으며, 각상당 12개의 H-Bridge Inverter가 직렬로 구성되어 25 레벨의 전압을 출력한다.

  • The electro-optical (EO) performances of a multidomain verticial-alignment (MYA) cell on a homeotropic photopolymer have been investigated. In the absence of an electric field, the WVA cell achieved black state as LC alignment is homeotropic An electric field created by interdigitated electrodes and rib made after photolithograph using the photopolymer on both substrates causes a director deformation of a multidomain type. Good voltage transmittance curves for a MVA cell on the homeotropic photopolymer were observed. Also, the stable response time of MYA cell on the homeotropic photopolymer can be achieved.

  • This paper introduces the drive system for 500MVA short-circuit generator. Drive system is usually low-voltage, but this system is 2300V high-voltage using Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor(IGBT). Drive system consists of switchgear, 18-pulse transformer, converter(source bridge), inverter(load bridge) and control rack. In this paper, It describes the function and construction of each part.

  • 본 논문은 3상 22.9 kV/380 V, 2[MVA] 몰드변압기의 온도 분포를 FEM(FLUX2D)를 이용하여 수행하였다. 변압기의 코어 손실과 권선손실에 의한 열원을 계산하고, 그 결과를 이용하여 코어와 권선의 온도 분포를 해석하였다. 최종목적은 열의 분포를 균등화하여 변압기의 효율과 용량을 극대화 시키는 것이다.

A Method for Determining All the k Most Vital Arcs in the Maximum Flow Problem by Ranking of Cardinality Cuts (절단기수의 나열을 통한 최대유통문제에서 모든 k-치명호를 찾는 방법)

  • The k most vital arcs (k-MVA) of a maximum flow problem is defined as those k arcs whose simultaneous removal from the network causes the greatest decrease in the throughput capability of the remaining system between a specified pair of nodes. In this study, we present a method for determining all the k-MVA in maximum flow problem using a minimal cardinality cut algorithm and k-th minimal cut ranking algorithm. For ranking cardinality cuts, we use Hamacher's ranking algorithm for cut capacity and by comparing present residual capacity of cardinality cut with expected residual capacity of next cardinality cut, we also present termination condition for this algorithm. While the previous methods cannot find all the alternatives for this problem, a method presented here has advantage of determining all the k-MVA.

A Tie-plate Shape Optimization of 24MVA Cast Resin Transformer for Reduction of Stray Loss (24MVA 몰드 변압기의 손실저감을 위한 Tie-Plate의 형상 최적설계 연구)

  • This paper presents a method to reduce the stray loss of core Tie-Plate of distribution power transformer. The method combines a 3-dimensional FEM with PSO(Particle Swarm Optimization) algorithm to determine the shape of the Tie-Plate that minimizes eddy current and flux-leakage losses. To verify the method a 24MVA distribution(cast-resin) transformer was simulated using one objective function and two design variables with some constraints. The final optimized Tie-Plate has nine($3{\times}3$) slots of 10mm width, 15mm thickness and 25mm distance. After four iterations, the Tie-Plate loss was reduced to about 21 % of the original.
