Partial Discharge (PD) is a physical phenomenon, which causes defects and damages to the insulation. This phenomenon is regarded as the most important source of fault and defect in power transformers. Therefore, methods of high speed and precision are considered of special importance for the maintenance of transformers in localization of the origin of partial discharge. In this paper, the transformer winding is first modeled in a transient state by using RLC ladder network and multiconductor transmission line (MTL) models. The parameters of the two models were calculated by Ansoft Maxwell software, and the simulations were performed by Matlab software. Then, the PD pulses were applied to the models with different widths of pulses. With regard to the fact that the signals received after the application of PD had a variable frequency nature over time, and based on the wavelet transform and signal energy, a new method was presented for the localization of PD. Ultimately; the mentioned method was implemented on a 20 kV winding distribution transformer. Then, the performances of the models used in this paper, including RLC and MTL models, were compared in different frequency bands for the correct distinction of partial discharge location.
The accurate monitoring and forecasting of the intensity of tropical cyclones (TCs) are able to effectively reduce the overall costs of disaster management. In this study, we proposed a multi-task learning (MTL) based deep learning model for real-time TC intensity estimation and forecasting with the lead time of 6-12 hours following the event, based on the fusion of geostationary satellite images and numerical forecast model output. A total of 142 TCs which developed in the Northwest Pacific from 2011 to 2016 were used in this study. The Communications system, the Ocean and Meteorological Satellite (COMS) Meteorological Imager (MI) data were used to extract the images of typhoons, and the Climate Forecast System version 2 (CFSv2) provided by the National Center of Environmental Prediction (NCEP) was employed to extract air and ocean forecasting data. This study suggested two schemes with different input variables to the MTL models. Scheme 1 used only satellite-based input data while scheme 2 used both satellite images and numerical forecast modeling. As a result of real-time TC intensity estimation, Both schemes exhibited similar performance. For TC intensity forecasting with the lead time of 6 and 12 hours, scheme 2 improved the performance by 13% and 16%, respectively, in terms of the root mean squared error (RMSE) when compared to scheme 1. Relative root mean squared errors(rRMSE) for most intensity levels were lessthan 30%. The lower mean absolute error (MAE) and RMSE were found for the lower intensity levels of TCs. In the test results of the typhoon HALONG in 2014, scheme 1 tended to overestimate the intensity by about 20 kts at the early development stage. Scheme 2 slightly reduced the error, resulting in an overestimation by about 5 kts. The MTL models reduced the computational cost about 300% when compared to the single-tasking model, which suggested the feasibility of the rapid production of TC intensity forecasts.
This paper presents circuit model of catenery in electrified railway system. Most of (a.c.)electrified railway system adopted as AT fed power supply system. This system is fed with twice voltage. It is that AT system can be fed through longer distance. Conventional circuit model of catenary is used T equivalent circuit with lumped parameter. This model may include some problem when traction power supply system is analyzed. In addition, the model with distributed parameter is good for analysis of harmonic and EMI.

An Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU)-based Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS) can calculate attitude and heading information with long-term accuracy and stability by combining gyro, accelerometer, and magnetic compass signals. Motivated by this characteristic of the AHRS, this paper presents a Motion-Tracking and Localization (MTL) method for a person or walking robot using multi-AHRSs. Five AHRSs are attached to the two calves, two thighs, and waist of a person/walking robot. Joints, links, and coordinate frames are defined on the body. The outputs of the AHRSs are integrated with link data. In addition, a supporting foot is distinguished from a moving foot. With this information, the locations of the joints on the local coordinate frame are calculated. The experimental results show that the presented MTL method can track the motion of and localize a person/walking robot with long-term accuracy in an infra-less environment.
Coreference resolution is a task in discourse analysis that links several headwords used in any document object. We suggest pointer networks-based coreference resolution for Korean using multi-task learning (MTL) with an attention mechanism for a hierarchical structure. As Korean is a head-final language, the head can easily be found. Our model learns the distribution by referring to the same entity position and utilizes a pointer network to conduct coreference resolution depending on the input headword. As the input is a document, the input sequence is very long. Thus, the core idea is to learn the word- and sentence-level distributions in parallel with MTL, while using a shared representation to address the long sequence problem. The suggested technique is used to generate word representations for Korean based on contextual information using pre-trained language models for Korean. In the same experimental conditions, our model performed roughly 1.8% better on CoNLL F1 than previous research without hierarchical structure.
Purpose: Adhesion is the most common and troublesome complication after repair of flexor tendon injury. Recently, use of sodium hyaluronate derivatives for adhesion prevention is increasing. A commercial product, Guardix$^{(R)}$, sodium hyaluronate(NaHe) combined with carboxymethylcellulose(CMC) has been newly developed as a preventive material for adhesion. We have investigated its effect in rabbits. Methods: Twenty seven male New Zealand white rabbits were operated under ketamine anesthesia. After tendon repair in zone II of the hind paw, Guardix$^{(R)}$(experimental group) or normal saline(control group) was administered. Biomechanical tests were performed to estimate adhesion formation at 2, 4, 8, and 12 weeks after the operation. Maximum tensile load to flex the distal interphalangeal joint 50 degree from its resting state(MTL50) was measured, depicting the amount of adhesion formed. Subsequently, breaking strength was assessed. Results: There were no postoperative complications such as infection, wound dehiscence, or hematoma. MTL50 was significantly lower in the experimental group than in the control group at 4, 8, 12 weeks (p<0.05). Mean value of MTL50 was 6.64N in the experimental group and 28.53N in the control group at 12 weeks after surgery. There were no significant differences in breaking strength. Conclusion: Our results indicate that Guardix$^{(R)}$ is helpful in reducing adhesion formation and does not interfere with normal healing processes of the tendon.
The blenniid fish, Entomacrodus stellifer light(Herre) is distributed in the coastal waters of southern Japan and south-eastern Korea. Matured adults of blenniid fish were collected from the rocky shore of Namchun-dong, Nam-gu, Pusan, Korea in July, 1991. The observations were made on the morphology and skeletal development of the reared larvae and juveniles. The lavae reached 5.80mm in mean total length(MTL) in 10 days after hatching. A this time the larvae have absorbed the yolk completely and became postlarvae. Melanophores are distributed on the fin membrane of the lower part of pectoral fin and ventral margins of tail. The larvae averaged 6.20mm in TL and the caudal notochord flex at $45^{\circ}$ in 13 days after hatching. The part of the fin-fold of the future dorsal and anal fins became high. The lavae reached juvenile stage in 31 days after hatching and attained 15.80mm in MTL, and all fin-rays was formed. Ossification of the cranium took place at 6.20mm of MTL(11 days after hatching) in parasphenoid. Vertebrae began to develop from the anterior end to ossify posteriorly. Ossification of all bones nearly completed when the larvae reached to 15.80mm in MTL (31 days after hatching).
Background: Recently there has been a trend of an increasing incidence of mediastinal tuberculous lymphadenitis(MTL) in adults. MTL often cause bronchial stenosis or esophago-mediastinal fistula. In spite of effective treatment, it is difficult to cure. Moreover, relapse frequently occurs. Authors analyzed chest CT findings and clinical features of 29 cases with MTL Methods: 29 cases with MTL were retrospectively studied with the clinical and radiologic features from April 1990 to March 1995 Results: 1) A total of 29 cases were studied. 12 cases were male and 17 cases were female. The male to female ratio was 1:1.4 Mean age was 29 years old. The 3rd decade(45%) was the most prevalent age group 2) The most common presenting symptoms and signs were palpable neck masses(62%) followed by cough(59%) and sputum(38%) 3) Except in one case of MTL, all patients had coexisting pulmonary tuberculosis, cervical tuberculous lymphadenitis, endobronchial tuberculosis and tuberculous pleurisy. Among the coexisting tuberculous diseases, Pulmonary tuberculosis was the most common(76%) 4) On simple chest X-ray, mediastinal enlargement was noted in 21 cases(72%), but it was not noted in 8 cases(28%). The most frequently involving site was the paratracheal node in 16 cases(72%). Rt side predominence(73%) was noted 5) Patterns of node appearance on a postcontrast CT scan were classified into 3 types. There were 19 cases(30%) of the Homogenous type, 30 cases(47%) of the Central low density type and 15 cases(23%) of the Peripheral fat obliteration type. The most common type was the central low density type. The most common lymph node size was 1~2 cm(88%) 6) The most frequently involved site was the paratracheal node in 26 cases(89%) by chest CT. Rt side(63%) was predominant 7) 9 cases(43%) had complete therapy and most common treatment duration was 13 - 18 months. 12 cases(57%) had incomplete continuing antituberculous medication and half of the cases had been treated above 19 months. Conclusion: Chest CT findings of MTL showed central low density area and peripheral rim enhancement, so this characteristic findings could differentiate it from other mediastinal diseases and help a diagnosis of tuberculosis. In spite of effective antituberculous medication, it is difficult to cure. Moreover, relapse frequently occurs. Further studies will be needed of the clinical features and the treatment of MTL.
In this paper, a numerical method for analyzing coupling between high-altitude electromagnetic pulse (HEMP) as external field and a shielded twisted pair (STP) cable is proposed, which is based on an expanded chain matrix. Load responses of electromagnetic (EM) field excitation in uniform transmission line (TL) are solved by Baum-Liu-Tesche (BLT) equations in frequency domain, however, it is difficult to apply BLT equations to solve load responses of STP cable because the iteratively changing configuration of each twisted pairs are involved in cable. To avoid this problem and decrease memory and CPU time, we proposed the expanded chain matrix modeling method that is calculated using ABCD parameters, and applied multi-conductor transmission line (MTL) theory to consider the EMP coupling effectiveness of each twisted pairs. The results implemented by the proposed method are presented and compared with those obtained by the finite-difference time domain (FDTD) method as a kind of 3D full wave analysis.

We propose a simple algorithm for obtaining MTL(maximum trimmed likelihood) estimates. The algorithm finds the subset to use to obtain the global maximum in the series of eliminating process which depends on the likelihood of cells in a contingency table. To evaluate the performance of the algorithm for MTL estimators, we conducted simulation studies. The results showed that the algorithm is very competitive in terms of computational burdens required to get the same or the similar results in comparison with the complete enumeration.
