When the optical image stabilization is implemented by moving one of the lens groups in a zoom system, decentration should be considered in the optical design process. Although it is partially possible to calibrate optical performances in an optical system with non-symmetrical elements by using a lot of commercial software, the results of calibrating longitudinal aberrations have some calibration errors because of the lack of precise consideration of decentered optical systems. In particular, the amount of distortion in paraxial ray tracing is different from the experimental value because paraxial ray tracing in the optical system is not useful. In this paper, in order to solve this problem being from various commercial lens design software, the set of equations of paraxial ray tracing in a zoom lens system with the non-symmetrical elements like decentration or tilt are theoretically induced. Then, the methods to calibrate the equations of longitudinal aberrations by using these equations in a non-symmetrical optical system are presented. The method of calibrating longitudinal aberrations can in practice be used to correct hand shaking effects in a zoom lens system.
In this paper, we propose a motion vector prediction method that increases the coding efficiency at the boundary of an image by utilizing the 360 video characteristic. In the current VVC method, the location of a neighbor block is excluded from the candidate list for inter prediction in case that it is out of boundary. This can reduce coding efficiency as well as subject quality. To solve this problem, we construct new candidates adding the location of the neighbor block at the boundary of the picture from already decoded information based on the projection method for 360 video coding. To evaluate the performance of the proposed method, we compare with VTM6.0 and 360Lib9.1 under Random Access condition of JVET-360 CTC. As a result, the coding performance shows a BD-rate reduction of 0.02% on average in luma component and 0.05%, 0.06% on average in chroma components respectively, without additional computational complexity. The coding performance at the picture boundary shows a BD-rate reduction of 0.29% on average in luma component and 0.45%, 0.43% on average in chroma components, respectively. Furthermore, we perform subjective quality test with the DSCQS method and obtain MOS values. The MOS value is improved by 0.03 value, and we calculate BD-MOS using MOS value and bit-rate. As a result, the proposed method improved performance by up to 8.78% and 5.18% on average.

A number of research groups worldwide are studying electronic implants that can be mounted on retinal optic nerve/visual cortex to restore vision of patients suffering from retinal degeneration. The implants consist of a neural interface made of biocompatible materials, one or more integrated circuits for stimuli generation, a camera, an image processor, and a telemetric channel. The realization of these classes of neural prosthetic devices is largely due to the explosive development of micro- and nano-electronics technologies in the late $20^{th}$ century and biotechnologies more recently. Animal experiments showed promise and some human experiments are in progress to indicate that recognition of images can be obtained and improved over time. We, at NBS-ERC of SNU, have started our own retinal implant project in 2000. We have selected polyimide as the biomaterial for an epi-retinal stimulator. In-vitro and in-vivo biocompatibility studies have been performed on the electrode arrays. We have obtained good affinity to retinal pigment epithelial cells and no harmful effect. The implant also showed very good stability and safety in rabbit eye for 12 weeks. We have also demonstrated that through proper stimulation of inner retina, meaning vision can be obtained.

A floating optical system is a system that moves more than 2 groups to focus at the camera lens. At the camera optics, the floating system that is mainly used is an optical system such as a macro lens which changes magnification very much. When the floating system is assembled and fabricated in the factory, there are differences between the image plane of the sensor and the focal plane of the infinity or macro state. Therefore, in a considerable proportion of cases, the focus adjustment to minimize the difference of BWD(Back Working Distance) is carried out in the process of manufacturing. In this paper, in order to decide the movement of each group in a floating system, we evaluated the rotation angle of CAM for the focus adjustment. We know that the maximum magnification of macro state is corrected by this numerical method for the focus adjustment, too. We investigated the limit of CAM rotation angle of the system by using statistical analysis for CAM rotation angle, which uses the focus adjustment of the floating system with symmetric error factors.

The study of ecosystem assessment(ES) is based on land cover information, and primarily it is performed at the global scale. However, these results as data for decision making have a limitation at the aspects of range and scale to solve the regional issue. Although the Ministry of Environment provides available land cover data at the regional scale, it is also restricted in use due to the intrinsic limitation of on screen digitizing method and temporal and spatial difference. This study of objective is to generate UAV land cover map. In order to classify the imagery, we have performed resampling at 5m resolution using UAV imagery. The results of object-based image segmentation showed that scale 20 and merge 34 were the optimum weight values for UAV imagery. In the case of RapidEye imagery;we found that the weight values;scale 30 and merge 30 were the most appropriate at the level of land cover classes for sub-category. We generated land cover imagery using example-based classification method and analyzed the accuracy using stratified random sampling. The results show that the overall accuracies of RapidEye and UAV classification imagery are each 90% and 91%.

Even though underground conduits have became important city-infra structures which should be exhaustively and efficiently managed, there is few systems which supports the well-defined facility management standards. Due to the lack of the supporting systems, experts must visit underground conduits scattered several cities over the country to see and check the status of the underground conduits including built-in facilities. This type of management gives us a little bit delayed status information at the end of so much time and money costs. In this paper, to solve this problem and manage the conduit synthetically, we developed a web-based facility management system for underground conduits by using information technologies. The developed management system has a simplified map drawing interface to depict the overall architectures and locations of underground conduits and their built-in facilities into sketch maps. And, the system uses the 3D panorama image technology with zooming functions in addition to still images and video images to give the feeling of a spot inspection. Moreover, since the system accumulates the data of repair/reinforcement, occasional inspections and safety diagnosis, conduit managers can synthetically and effectively manage the facilities within underground conduits and themselves.

Purpose: The success of the bonding between electroformed gold and ceramic is dependent on the surface treatment of the pure gold coping. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the bonding strength between the electroformed gold and ceramic with varying surface treatment. Materials and methods: A total of 32 disks,8 were using conventional ceramometal alloy, 24 were using electroforming technique as recommended by manufacturer, were prepared. 24 electroformed disks were divided 3 groups according to surface treatment, i.e. 50 microns aluminium oxide sandblasting(GES-Sand), gold bonder treatment(GES-Bond) and $Rocatec^{TM}$ system(GES-Rocatec). For control group of conventional alloy 50 microns aluminium oxide treatment was done(V-Supragold). Energy dispersive x-ray analysis and scanning electron microscope image were observed. Using universal testing machine, shear bond strength and bonding failure mode at metal-porcelain interface were measured. Results and Conclusion: The following conclusions were drawn: 1. In the energy dispersive x-ray analysis, the Au was main component in electroformed gold(99.9wt%). After surface treatment, a little amount of $Al_2O_3(2.4wt%)$ were found in GES-Sand, and $SiO_2(4wt%)$ in GES-Bond. In GES-Rocatec, however, a large amount of $SiO_2(17.4wt%)$ were found. 2. In the scanning electron microscopy, similar pattern of surface irregu larities were observed in V-Supragold and GES-Sand. In GES-Bond, surface irregularities were increased and globular ceramic particles were observed. In GES-Rocatec, a large amount of silica particles attached to metal surface with increased surface irregularities were observed. 3. The mean shear bond strength values(MPa) in order were $22.9{\pm}3.7(V-Supragold),\;22.1{\pm}3.8(GES-Bond),\;20.1{\pm}2.8(GES-Rocatec)\;and\;13.0{\pm}1.4(GES-Sand)$. There was no significant difference between V-Supragold, GES-Bond, and GES-Rocatec. (P>0.05) 4. Most bonding failures modes were adhesive type in GES-Sand. However, in V-Supragold, GES-Bond and GES-Rocatec, cohesive and combination failures were commonly observed. From the result, with proper surface treatment method electroformed gold may have enough strength compare to conventional ceramometal alloy.

PURPOSE. The accuracy of a gypsum model (GM), which was taken using a conventional silicone impression technique, was compared with that of a polyurethane model (PM), which was taken using an iTero$^{TM}$ digital impression system. MATERIALS AND METHODS. The maxillary first molar artificial tooth was selected as the reference tooth. The GMs were fabricated through a silicone impression of a reference tooth, and PMs were fabricated by a digital impression (n=9, in each group). The reference tooth and experimental models were scanned using a 3 shape convince$^{TM}$ scan system. Each GM and PM image was superimposed on the registered reference model (RM) and 2D images were obtained. The discrepancies of the points registered on the superimposed images were measured and defined as GM-RM group and PM-RM group. Statistical analysis was performed using a Student's T-test (${\alpha}=0.05$). RESULTS. A comparison of the absolute value of the discrepancy revealed a significant difference between the two groups only at the occlusal surface. The GM group showed a smaller mean discrepancy than the PM group. Significant differences in the GM-RM group and PM-RM group were observed in the margins (point a and f), mesial mid-axial wall (point b) and occlusal surfaces (point c and d). CONCLUSION. Under the conditions examined, the digitally fabricated polyurethane model showed a tendency for a reduced size in the margin than the reference tooth. The conventional gypsum model showed a smaller discrepancy on the occlusal surface than the polyurethane model.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a multisystem disorder where the etiology is not clearly known. Symptomatic chronic interstitial pneumonitis is an uncommon manifestation, with a reported prevalence of 3~13%. Achalasia is rare disease that presents with failure in the relaxation of the esophagus sphincter. A 22-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital because of fever, cough and dyspnea. The patient had a history of pericardial effusion and Raynaud's phenomenon. The results of laboratory tests indicated the presence of lymphopenia and included positive antibody tests for antinuclear antibody and anti Sm antibody. A chest X-ray demonstrated the presence of peribronchial infiltration on both lung fields. A Chest CT image showed interlobar septal thickening, ground-glass opacity and a honeycomb appearance in both lung fields and esophageal dilatation with air fluid level. An esophagogram showed the presence of dilated esophagus ends that represented the non-relaxed lower esophageal sphincter. Manometry demonstrated incomplete sphincter relaxation. The case was diagnosed as systemic lupus erythematosus associated with interstitial pneumonia and achalasia.

Background: We hypothesized that if a fluoroscopic image of the lumbar sympathetic ganglion block (LSGB) showed the spread patterns of contrast at both the L2/3 and L4/5 disc areas, then this would demonstrate a more profound blockade effect because the spread patterns are close to sympathetic ganglia. In addition, we compared the effects of LSGB and transforaminal epidural steroid injection (TFESI) for the patients suffering with spinal stenosis. Methods: Eighty patients were divided into two groups (Group S: the patients treated with TFESI, Group L: the patients treated with LSGB). The patients of group L were classified into three groups (groups A, B and, C) according to their contrast spread pattern. The preblock and postblock temperature difference between the ipsilateral and contralateral great toe ($DT^{pre}$, $DT^{post}$, $^{\circ}C$), and the DTnet were calculated as follows. $DT^{net}$ = $DT^{post}$ - $DT^{pre}$. Results: Both group showed a significant reduction of the visual analogue score (VAS) and the Oswestry disability index (ODI) score. Only the patients of group L showed a significant increase of their walking distance (WD). Group A showed the most significant changes in the $DT^{post}$ ($6.1{\pm}1.2^{\circ}C$, P = 0.021), and the DTnet ($6.0{\pm}1.0^{\circ}C$, p = 0.023), as compared to group C. Conclusions: LSGB showed a similar effect on the VAS, and ODI, and a significant effect, on WD, compared with TFESI. Group A showed a significant sympatholytic effect, as compared to group C.
