SCM and SCME Channel Models and Their Impacts on MIMO System Level Performance (SCM과 SCME채널 모형의 비교와 MIMO 시스템 레벨 성능에 미치는 영향)

  • In this paper, we explain differences between SCM and extended SCM(SCME), and investigate how these channel models affects MIMO system level performance. System level simulation is performed according to the number of users and drifting-time intervals with SCM and SCME, respectively. The performance of SCME is slightly better than SCM since mid-paths and the drifting-time in SCME causes more fluctuations in MIMO channels.

  • In this paper, we compare the performance of representative MIMO techniques such as space-time block code, closed-loop transmit diversity, and V-BLAST, etc., in IEEE 802.22 environments. We first develope deco-ding algorithms of the representative MIMO techniques and design a MIMO-OFDM system employing QPSK, 16 QAM, 64 QAM to cover several transmission rates. Since the frequency band used for IEEE 802.22 systems belongs mostly to V/UHF band and the angular spread of the received signal at the base station is very small, there Is a significant correlation between the signals from transmit antennas. Thus, in this paper, we compare the performance of MIMO-OFDM systems employing only two Tx antennas in correlated fading environments.

  • In this thesis, we use one by one each of the analog switch and a high-speed DAC instead of the DAC that two or more are used in transmitting and receiving antennas multiple systems, maintaining the advantages of the existing method, reducing design costs, physical to provide a method that can reduce the data converters from MIMO system can improve the economic efficiency and the size reduction of a basis.

  • In a log likelihood ratio(LLR) calculation of the detected symbol, multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) system applying an optimal or suboptimal algorithm such as a maximum likelihood(ML) detection, sphere decoding(SD), and QR decomposition with M-algorithm Maximum Likelihood Detection(QRM-MLD) suffers from exponential complexity growth with number of spatial streams and modulation order. In this paper, we propose a LLR calculation method with very low complexity in the QRM-MLD based symbol detector for a high order modulation based $N_T{\times}N_R$ MIMO system. It is able to approach bit error rate(BER) performance of full maximum likelihood detector to within 1 dB. We also analyze the BER performance through computer simulation to verify the validity of the proposed method.

  • Adaptive MIMO-OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) system adaptively changes modulation scheme depending on feedback channel state information (CSI). The CSI feedback channel which is the reverse link channel has multiple symbol delays including propagation delay, processing delay, frame delay, etc. The unreliable CSI due to feedback delay degrades adaptive modulation system performance. This paper compares the MSE and data capacity with respect to delay and channel signal to noise ratio for the two multi-step channel prediction schemes, CTSBP and BTSBP, such that robust adaptive SISO-OFDM/MIMO-OFDM is designed over severe mobile multipath channel conditions. This paper presents an interpolation method to reduce feedback overhead for adaptive MIMO-OFDM and shows MSE with respect to interpolation interval.

  • Compared to the MIMO system using the spatial multiplexing methods and the MIMO system using the diversity scheme achieved a high rate, but the lower the diversity gain to improve the data transmission reliability should separate the spatial stream at the MIMO receiver. In this paper, we compared Channel capacity detection methods with the Lattice code, the 3-user interference channel and linear channel interference detection methods ZF (Zero Forcing) and MMSE (Minimum Mean Square Error) detection methods. The channel is a Diagonal channel. In other words, Diagonal channel is confirmed by the inverse matrix satisfies the properties of Jacket are element-wise inverse to $[H]_N[H]_N^{-1}=[I]_N$.

  • Dirty Paper Coding(DPC) can achieve the sum capacity of a multiuser multiple-input multiple-output(MU MIMO) broadcast channels. However, due to the high computational complexity of the successive encoding and decoding, deploying DPC in real systems is impractical. As one of practical alternatives to DPC, Block Diagonalization(BD) was researched. BD is an extension of the zero-forcing preceding technique that eliminates interuser interference(IUI) in downlink MIMO systems. Though BD has lower complexity than DPC, BD shows poor sum capacity performance. We show that sum capacity performance of BD is degraded due to no IUI constraint. Then, we modify BD to improve its sum capacity performance with relaxing the constraint and sub optimal channel set searching. With simulation results, it can be verified that our modification in BD induces some improvement in sum capacity performance.

  • We perform simulation. It is that LED panels is fixed and moving the terminal with PD in order to analyze the performance of visible-light wireless communication system based on MIMO under variety of the interference environment. And, based on the technology MIMO, we analyzed whether the interference caused by external light to give what effect changes in the quality of the communication channel. The distortion due to time delay in channel transmission must be compensated by using the equalizer. Especially, use of equalizer is need absolutely as data rate becomes high speed. Therefore, in this paper, the system VLC, were analyzed BER performance using channel equalization.

An Efficient Channel Estimation Method in MIMO-OFDM Systems (MIMO-OFDM 시스템에서 효율적인 채널 추정 방식)

  • In this paper, the Walsh coded orthogonal training signals for 4 × 4 multiple input multiple output-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) systems are designed and the channel estimation equations are derived as a closed form, taking account of the inter training signal interference problems caused by the multi-path delayed signals. The performances of the proposed channel estimation method are analyzed and compared with the conventional methods[9,14] by using computer simulation. The simulation results show that the proposed methods has better performances, compared with the conventional methods[9,14]. As a result, the proposed method can be used for MIMO-OFDM systems with null sub-carriers.

  • In this paper, we propose the adaptive multibeamforming algorithm to remove the same subcarrier interference and multipath signals in the MIMO(Multi-Input Multi-Out)-OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing Access)system allocated the same subcarrier partially in order to improve spectrum efficiency. In addition to removing the interference, we can get diversity gain and combat the detriment of the performance according to time delay by the proposed approach. BER performance improvement and combating the delay spread detrimental effects of the proposed approach is investigated through computer simulation by applying it to MIMO-OFDMA.
