Multiple Access Scheme Using Modified Hermite Polynomial Pulse and Ternary code for Out-Body WBAN (신체 외부 통신에서 MHP 펄스와 터너리 코드를 이용한 다중접속 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose a multiple access scheme using MHP(Modified Hermite Polynomial) pulse and ternary code for high-data and low-data rate for Out-body WBAN(Wireless Body Area Network). To satisfy the requirement of WBAN system, UWB-IR has been considered as a promising candidate for Out-body WBAN. The proposed multiple access scheme, using orthogonal MHP pulse and ternary code sets, reduces multi-user interference and distinguishes user signal from multi-user signals. We propose two algorithms for synchronous and asynchronous WBAN system. The symbol is constructed by MHP pulses and time hopping duration to reduce multi-user interference in the synchronous WBAN system. The symbol also is constructed by ternary code to avoid collision between pulse trains in the asynchronous WBAN system. The results of the proposed multiple access scheme show a clear improvement of BER.

Performance Analysis of M-ary Multiple Access UWB System Using Modified Hermite Polynomial Pulses (Modified Hermite Polynomial 펄스들을 사용하는 M진 다중접속 UWB 시스템의 성능 분석)

  • In this paper, we propose and analyze M-ary pulse order time hopping multiple access ultra wideband (PO-THMA UWB) system using modified Hermite polynomial (MHP). The MHP pulses have a mutually orthogonal property between different ordered pulses and that property makes simultaneous transmission at the same time slot regardless of collision in the THMA-UWB system. Therefore, we derive the cross-correlation furlction of MHP pulses and analyze the BER of the proposed system and show that the BER performance and the transmission capacity are improved dramatically when compared with those of conventional THMA-UWB system.

The Hybrid Method of ToA and TDoA Using MHP Pulse in UWB System (UWB 시스템에서의 MHP 펄스를 이용한 ToA와 TDoA의 Hybrid 방식)

  • Recently, ToA and TDoA estimation are favorable among all of estimation techniques because they have the best accuracy in estimating position. ToA and TDoA estimation are typical techniques based on time. So, it is important to have the time syncronization and offset between a target node and several reference nodes. If they don't have the time syncronization between a reference node and target node or have a time offset among reference nodes, the positioning error will increase due to the ranging error. The conventional positioning algorithm does not have a accurate device's position because ranging error is added the calc dation of the position. In this paper, we propose a hybrid method of ToA and TDoA ll increase due. We use MHP pulse that has orthogonal pulse instead of the existing pulse to transmit and receive pulses between a target node and reference nodes. We can estimate the target node's position by ToA and TDoA estimation to transmit and receive MHP pulses only once. When the proposed Hybrid method iteratively calculate the distance, we can select the ranging technique to have more accurate position. The simulation results confirm the enhancement of the Hybrid method.
