  • In this paper, an electronic ballast was developed to control a 250W metal halide lamp. To avoid acoustic resonance phenomenon, we calculated the acoustic resonance band and determined the driving frequency from 70kHz to 100kHz. Due to the switching loss of MOSFET, many problems are caused in the inverter circuit during lamp lighting, so we reduced the loss by connecting the capacitor that minimizes the magnitude of the impulsive voltage. In this paper, the main point of research is to find the methods to operate the lamp on the rated output power. After detecting the current and the voltage of the lamp, we changed the driving frequency by adjusting the DC voltage level of the VCO input.

  • The downing of the MH17 reminds the world that the international civil aviation is not as safety and security as people expected. Such tragedy is partly due to the risk and danger of the armed conflict zones, but is more attributed to the ignorance to the international law by the responsible parties concerned. International laws applicable to the armed conflict zones shall be strictly followed, and the reparation shall be provided to the victims, otherwise such disaster could not be avoided in the future.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between mother's parenting stress and child's temperament, mother's temperament, and poorness-of-fit. The subjects were 236 mothers of 4- to 6-year-old children in Seoul. Data was analyzed by correlation, analysis of variance, and stepwise regression analysis. Results showed that most poorness-of-fit of emotionality was due child's high-mother's high (CH-MH) and high-low (CH-ML) combination. Most poorness-of-fit (activity as well as sociability) was associated with child's low-mother's low (CL-ML) and low-high (CL-MH) combination. Mothers who had a highly emotional child and who were in poorness-of-fit emotionality perceived more hassles and more intensive daily parenting stress. It was also found that the most significant variable predicting mother's hassles and daily stress intensity was poorness-of-fit of emotionality, followed by mother's emotionality.

  • Compressive sensing is a new sampling technique, which allows to sample a signal under the Nyquist-Shannon sampling rate. For block-based compressive sensing, a hybrid sensing matrix which contains low-frequency patterns in addition to the random Gaussian numbers is good for exploiting typical property of natural images. By noting that MH-BCS-SPL is well known for its good recovery performance, this paper investigates effect of the hybrid sensing matrix on MH-BCS-SPL in the sense of how large portion of low-frequency patterns can provide performance improvement.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the effect of maleic hydrazide upon the winter hardness on leaves spraying after harvesting of autumn rearing season. The results obtained are as follows; 1. Spraying over 0.25% increased starch in all tissues of the twig than that in the not-sprdyed control twig. 2. Spraying time of central district was the middle ten days of september. 3. There were effect on spraying of all the treatment variety Suwon No. 4. 4. Winter hardiness by variety was strong in the order of Suwon No. 4, Gae Ryang Su ban, Il Jire, Rosang.
